3 The System finally turns on

As we slowly walked through the forest, Bell trailing behind me and a few rustling noises coming from the surrounding bushes, I was going over something in my head, mostly plans and other stuff, but every once in awhile I would stop and look around, trying to figure out whether anything around us was big enough, sadly nothing caught my interest.

Al there was was a few rabbits, a really small pig and a couple of squirrels, nothing worth doing anything about.

"Hey Raphe, what exactly are we doing out here, you said something about practising your fighting techniques but we haven't stopped at he usual place that you train, what's the deal?" he asked as he stopped and looked around the path "well Bell, I lied about that, I'm really here because you heard from some passing merchants, that here was a large group of Goblins in the forest, I'm here to kill hem" I said as I looked over to bell.

"What! Monsters! Are you kidding, Raphe, you can't be out here hunting monsters, we need to go" he said as he went to try and drag me back to the house.

"Why Bell, how is different from what you want to do, you want to go to Orario and become an adventurer, this is just my way of doing that, becoming an adventurer is the only way I can get stronger, to join a Familia and go into the dungeon is the only way, this is just my way of practicing" I said as I pulled my arm out of his weak grip "you can go home, but I'm staying out here, tell Grandpa that I'll be home later" I said as I continued to used to walk deeper into the forest.

With Bell gone, I started to sprint deeper into the forest, I drew my sword and started to seek out the goblins.

It wasn't till a few minutes I searching went by that I found them.

There were five of them, all of them were green lumpy creatures that had large tree branches as weapons, but they weren't as described in the anime, these ones were a little bit taller than the pictures I've seen and a lot more muscular as well, they must have been variants of some kind, but all that really mattered was that I'd found them.

I readied my sword and crouched down into the underbrush that surrounded the clearing, the Goblins didn't seem to be doing anything, so I took this moment to strike.

With all my speed I dashed up to the monsters and swung my sword, hitting the chest of one of the Goblins, cutting into it's chest and making blood spurt out like a tiny fountain, as it disappeared into a burst of dust the same holographic screen appeared as it did once before.

[Congratulations, you have slain your first monster, the System will now unlock for the host to use]

With a grin on my face I continued to swing at he goblins, one at a time they were split in half, until only one remained.

This one seemed different, than the others, it was a lot more muscular than the other already muscular Goblins and was at least an inch taller than the rest, it also had a look of anger in it's eyes, like it could tell what was going on, like it knew what had just happened and was angry at me for killing its brothers and sisters.

Well, it didn't matter anyway, I would kill it like the rest of them.

Before I could even move, It dashed at me as swung its large branch at my head, I managed to dodge, but the branch hit me in my shoulder making it sore and maybe even leaving a bruise, it then spun around, usein the momentum from it's previous strike to hit me in the chest knocking me back and onto the ground.

As I stood up I could hear my heart pounding in my ears, I could feel the blood rushing through my veins and my mind became clouded and fuzzy, I couldn't think straight.

The only I could think of was killing that Goblin, it was like my body was going into overdrive, I could see, smell and hear everything around me, I could feel the vibrations from a butterflies wings that was

I swung my Broadsword at the goblin and just managed to graze its cheek, leaving a small cut I its lying past my face, Then I found that my body went numb as my instincts took over, It was an intoxicating feeling.

I dashed forward with all my strength and speed and lunged at the Goblin, stabbing it through its shoulder, I then pulled out the sword and swung it directly downwards onto is skull.

As I let out a long puff of breath it disappeared into a purple dust cloud.

I had done it, I had killed my first monsters.
