Exploring In Another World

After returning to the other world, Leo took the initiative to inspect his surroundings more thoroughly.

Although he had appeared in this same spot multiple times, this was the first time Leo actively observed where he was arriving each time.

"There's nothing much to see here," Leo muttered after turning around to survey his surroundings.

The wilderness and the entrance to a vast forest were the predominant features.

Venturing into the forest didn't seem reasonable.

"What should I do now?" Leo mumbled quietly, raising his right hand to rub his chin.

'I wonder where those 'three' were heading to,' Leo thought as he recalled the three figures he still suspected were cultivators or something along those lines. These individuals seemed to be heading somewhere with a specific destination in mind.

Turning to look in the direction where the cultivators had flown with their swords, Leo noticed something in the distance that immediately captured his attention.

Squinting his eyes in an attempt to discern the distant object clearly, Leo saw what appeared to be a wall.

'I can't see it clearly from here, but that wall seems to be surrounding other buildings. It's most likely a place where other people are. Perhaps, maybe that's why those 'three' were heading there.'

The sight before him was the outline of a walled city.

'I guess it counts as a destination,' Leo thought.

With a clear goal in mind, Leo took only a few seconds to contemplate his decision and then began making his way towards the walls.

Apart from seeking a location to learn more about this world, Leo also had the desire to distance himself from his current location.

Standing near the entrance to the vast forest behind him had left him feeling increasingly uncomfortable. There were times he believed something was watching him, but every time he turned back to check, he found nothing. He dismissed the sensation as a product of his initially unstable emotions.

Either way, Leo didn't want to remain anywhere near the forest.

As Leo ventured out of the wilderness and into the unknown, he took a moment to inspect his body in this world.

Although he couldn't see his face, Leo recognized that this body resembled his real-world form. His shoulder-length blonde hair, lean and muscular physique, and tall stature were all present in this new world.

'I wonder if…,' Leo's thought trailed off suddenly as he remembered an important physical aspect he hadn't yet checked.

He cast a furtive glance at his surroundings, ensuring that he wasn't being observed by anything.

'Hmmm… This Leo didn't bother calculating, but it seems like it's going to be around 6.5 to 7 at least. Tsk. I was barely 5 back on Earth.'

Leo then remembered something that made his shoulders slump.

'Not like I even used it then. I might have been even good. They did say it depends on how you use it.'

Not wanting to get distracted by such thoughts, Leo shifted his focus to his clothing in this new world.

Leo found himself dressed in a simple outfit: a loose-fitting tunic, cotton trousers, and leather boots.

'Even if this is not a cultivation world and is something else that doesn't even have any supernatural powers, my identity here is probably that of a commoner based on my clothing alone.'

He pondered the implications of his appearance.

'This could be both a good and a bad thing in this world.'

Leo was uncertain of his current location. This strange place; is it real or is it an illusion?

All he knew was that his presence here had to be related to his transmigration. The risk of venturing into this unfamiliar realm was not lost on him.

The three figures he had seen earlier, along with the city walls, indicated that some form of civilization existed here.

Leo couldn't predict how the inhabitants of this world might react upon seeing him.

He couldn't rule out the possibility of encountering hostile reactions, given the thoughts racing through his mind. For instance, if he did come across intelligent life forms, how would he communicate with them?

Leo was in the dark about whether what had granted him the ability to come here had also installed language proficiency.

Setting his curiosity aside, Leo knew he needed to explore this place. If not now, then later.

The thought of something unknown residing within him was unsettling, and Leo's unique situation heightened his concerns about the door and its connection to this realm.

However, Leo's confidence to explore came from the knowledge that he could return to his world.

In case anything went wrong in this unfamiliar place, he could always retreat.

While he wasn't certain if there would be consequences for his body since it was connected to his consciousness, Leo was prepared to make a swift exit if necessary.

Leo emerged from the wilderness and found himself on a flat grassland.

He noticed something new that he hadn't seen upon his initial arrival: a long dirt road leading to the city where the cultivators had flown.

The dirt road was wide and bustling with people.

'It seems like there are a lot of people wanting to enter the city,' Leo mused. 'Is there something important going on there?'

At least, the people appeared to be human, which was a relief to Leo. From his current vantage point, he could observe the activities on the road without much difficulty, despite the distance.

There were many people on the dirt road, and while he couldn't determine the exact number, the sheer length of the road suggested there were at least 300 individuals seeking entry into the city.

Leo saw horse-drawn carriages on the road, some accompanied by guards and some without. People were engaged in various activities, all moving in the direction of the city.

As he contemplated the situation, a wave of emotions surged through Leo, but he managed to calm himself.

'I can do this. Hopefully, I can glean some sort of information down there,' Leo thought and with that, he started making his way towards the dirt road.
