2 Chapter 1 - Shocking The Ones Above With My Extraordinary Genes

<Years later...>

Beeep!

Felix jumped up from his bed, he instantly looked down to his wrist. A faint frown grew on his face as he saw the time.

"Damn! I am so fucking late for the test." Felix grabbed his hood swiftly, before running out of the room.

"Felix, you're late again!" Jacob said with a mocking tone as he caught sight of Felix before giving chase.

He was running after Felix with his uniform buttoned up halfway, and his tie nowhere to be found. His hair was slightly ruffled while he was wearing an unfamiliar scent.

Who knows where he was, and what he was doing?

"Uh...er..." Felix stammered as he slowed down with an awkward expression. He could be killed if that 'old witch' gets him today, but if he had to die, he dies...

With Jacob!

Whose fault was it for him to be playing Minecraft all night... maybe it's the person who installed it on their PC... Jacob!

"Don't sweat an explanation, we might a tough punishment today." Jacob said, his lip corners were curved up in a smile as subtle flames erupted around us body making him look like an elven devil.

Felix and Jacob ran into the class. They heaved a sigh of relief after stepping into the class, but their joy was short lived as a familiar sound was heard.

Ta Ta Ta.

"So, what excuses have you two devised today?" A tall slender middle aged lady said while tapping her feet against the ground impatiently. Her average looking face had a look of subtle anger as she stared at the two fiends before her.

She was wearing loose sleeves with a pair of black pants. Her blonde shoulder length hair, and naturally alluring body shape would make most men drool in lust.

"We, en, er... Overslept?" Jacob stutters, his face had already turned ghastly pale from just seeing the teacher's enraged face.

"Jacob, is it? So you've taken me for a fool?" The female teacher felt like strangling the idiot. Did he think she was an idiot? Even someone thinking with his ass would fish out that huge lie!

"Sorry ma'am. We were busy playing games all night due to the anxiety from today's event. So we didn't wake up early today." Felix said as he stood before Jacob, and lowered his head whilst feigning guilt.

"What are you-?" Jacob was interrupted by a certain someone clearing her throat. His eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets after hearing the next sentence.

"Okay, I forgive you. Do not make me regret this. Now get back to your seats before I beat some sense into you two!" The teacher yelled angrily, signalling for of them to apologise immediately.

"Sorry teacher, we will not do this again." Felix said as he bowed his head without hesitation. He immediately lifted his head and gave Jacob a death stare as if saying 'Bow down your head too, fucker!' with his eyes.

"Sigh. Sorry ma'am. We won't be late to class again." Jacob followed as he lowered his eyes to the ground, and let out a barely audible sigh.

The both of them walked to their seats and sat down quickly. Their seats were at the back of the class, right besides the class bully Roy, and the class beauty, Lillian. Felix and Jacob were seating alongside each other.

"Today, we're going to learn how to activate our powers." The teacher began to speak out loudly to the class with a smile on her face as she watched the students.

"Most of the mutants all over the world have a different genome from humans. Our special genetic code gives us the ability to perform amazing feats."

Felix listened intently to his teacher, although he already knew some of these things like the back of his palm, he still paid attention in class, in order to grasp more information with he didn't know about.

"Most mutants can hold only one ability, and this ability varies depending on their mutant genes. Mutants who have a more complex gene, and have the ability to further mutant themselves are called prodigies. Those who hold more than one abilities are called anomalies. Anomalies are the rarest type of mutant, and they are only 5% out of 100% mutants in the populace discovered."

Felix was wondering what kind of gene does he possess...

Normal? Meh, too boring.

Prodigy? A bit nice, but no...

Anomaly? Hmm, that sounds nice. A special gene for a special mutant like me.

"Today we're going to find out what kind of mutant you are. Everyone please line-up in an orderly manner." Their female teacher said as she brought out a small square shaped device the size of a notebook out of her bag and placed it on her desk with a smile on her face.

A-Ranked Mutant Ability Reader!

All the students immediately went high in spirits. An A-Ranked Mutant Ability Reader was worth no more than hundred million credits, with one credit equivalent to ten dollars!

"Bro, what genes do you think you'll possess? Normal or Prodigy? C'mon tell me, tell me." Jacob asked curiously as he hooked his arm around Felix's neck with a smile on his face.

"I think I'll settle with the Anomaly gene. It does suit my awesomeness." Felix shamelessly replied without batting an eye as continued staring at the A-Ranked Mutant Ability Reader with a smile.

Jacob just shook his head with a smile, Felix was still the same. He could never change his arrogant and shameless nature.

Ever since day one when Felix arrived in the school, Felix and Jacob were the best of friends. Despite their great differences, they continued staying together till this day.

Felix the calm and collected one who seems like an arrogant CEO or a badass mafia boss never gets into fights one on one easily. He could be shameless to the point of surrendering during a fight where he discovers he can't will or powerful enough to beat the chap out of a bully when he's enraged.

Jacob on the other hand was like a loose cannon. Always stepping up to the bullies, never backing down from a fight. He was the kind that mostly talked with his fists, his motto being:

Brawn before the Brains!

Both of them were like brothers, always eating and playing together since childhood. They have different interests and goals, but one can hardly see them fighting against each other over anything except money, women, and food.

The teacher looked up to the students after setting up the devices. A calm smile grazed her lips as she fixated her eyes on the first student.

"Peter, could you come forward now." She said as she gave the timid boy a calming smile as she gestured 'come here' with her index finger.

The boy called Peter steeled his nerves, and walked up to the teachers desk. He closed his eyes tightly, then, slowly placed his shaking hand on the box like machine before the words appeared:

[Peter]

[Ability: Steeling]

[Genes: Normal]

"A defensive ability, very good for someone like you whose superiority is burst and sneak attacks. Step aside, next!" The teacher said with a smile, as she called out the class beauty Lillian.

The next student came, Lillian forward and also placed her hands on the device, albeit having more confidence than the previous student a faint smile appeared on her face as she read the words before her face.

[Lillian]

[Ability: Animal Familiarity]

[Genes: Prodigy]

"Good one, for a ranger-based mutant who needs high defensive, and offensive support. Okay, next!" The teacher called out with a calm expression on her face.

Soon after, student after student placed their hands one after the other on the Mutant Ability Reader. Some had not activated their mutant genes so it showed a blank screen, while others had basic abilities like Hardening or Strengthening.

Even the class bully, Roy didn't have any ability, and got mocked by some of the students.

"Jacob, it is your turn." The teacher said as she stared at Jacob with a calm expression on her face, but even a headless retard could decipher the hidden scorn in her gaze.

So she dares disrespect this daddy! Just wait let me reveal my hidden ability to the class... HAHAHA!

"Wish me luck Felix. Hope I get the prodigy or the anomaly gene." Jacob said as he patted Felix's shoulder and slowly stepped forward with a smile on his face.

"That's a pretty big hope you have there." Someone from the students spat furiously. He was one of the mutants who hadn't awakened any ability, and was in possession of a normal gene! He saw someone boasting so he took the initiative to wreck his image with his flaming mouth.

"Was I the one who asked your father to knock up the wrong woman? Maybe, you were just a bastard son, either way you're nothing but trash, and trash does nothing but trash-talk!" Felix furiously fired with a fierce glint in his eyes. Who gave the dog the audacity to slander the brother of a king?

You touch my brother without permission, I ruin you!

The class went silent before roars of laughter were directed at the poor student who had shrunk back into the crowd in disgrace.

Jacob confidently walked up to the desk, while maintaining his broad grin as he placed his hands on the device.

[Jacob]

[Ability: Absolute Transformation]

[Genes: Prodigy]

"Step aside Jacob." She said, barely able to contain the surprise in her eyes.

The absolute transformation ability was an extremely rare skill. One had to train for years to be able reach the intermediate level not to talk of advance which one might not achieve in their entire lifetime.

'Absolutely alter one's body, genome and abilities? He is indeed a prodigy to be able to activate such an amazing power at this age.' The teacher thought with a shocked expression which sue quickly concealed.

Who knew the class fiend to be able to master such an ability?

Jacob gave Felix a slight wink as he immediately step to the side, whilst giving him a thumbs up as encouragement.

"Next!" The teacher called as her smug expression returned.

There's no how another advanced mutant to appear in the class. The chances are too slim to be possible... 1 in a 100%.

'Well, I guess I have to try. Father in heaven, if you can hear me, please give me a powerful ability!' Felix thought as he slightly bowed his head before stepping forward.

Felix walked up to the desk next. His hands were shaking uncontrollably as he held them out to the device. He tightly exhaled before resting his sweaty palm on the Mutant Power Reading device.

....

[Felix]

[Ability: Absolute Telepathy]

[Genes: Anomaly]

Felix immediately felt like jumping to heaven and hugging the god that answered his prayer. His luck was truly unprecedented!

The teacher widened her eyes in shock, her entire body froze in place. She just stared at Felix with a frozen smile on her face.

Anomaly?! What kind of perverted luck does this kid have to awaken an Anomaly gene at this age?!

Isn't he sixteen or something?

'This kid, at this age? An anomaly?' Some knowledgeable students was so shocked their jaws nearly dropped to the ground.

"S-Step a-aside, F-Felix." The teacher could barely keep her composure. Absolute Telepathy at 16?! She hadn't even seen a basic telepathic mutant, but this child...

Felix went to join Jacob with a smile on his face. He had his dreamed gene! Father and mother, thanks for being special mutants and passing your genes to me.

Thring~ Thring~

The teacher slowly regained her posture as she smiled to the students before picking up a small communication device and placing it in her ear before her expression changed.

"Miss Vegan, please head down to the basement, now." A male voice came out of the communicative device, loud enough for just the teacher and some mutants with hearing abilities to hear.

"Please take your seats. I'll be back in a minute." The female teacher known as Vegan said before walking off with a frown on her face.

----

Down in the basement all the adult mutants were in the middle of a meeting concerning the mutant kids.

All of them were seated around a circular table with a circular communication device right at the middle of the circular desk.

All the mutants lazily stared at each other for some time before their faces suddenly brightened up as footsteps echoes closer towards them. In less than a minute, Vegan had stepped into the room, and after being acknowledged by the rest she began to walk towards her seat.

"The kids should be prepared for the screening programme. Only the best of the best should be part of the team." Nix, the strongest female speed-based mutant began to speak with a smile on her face.

"Don't worry about that. I've trained them properly, most of them have been forged into the strongest mutant students." Vegan said with a serious expression as she took her seat adjacent to Kyle, aka tiger boy.

"Are they no mutants under your wing with greater potential compared to the others?" Kyle asked, looking directly at Vegan as his expression turned dead-serious. He wanted only the strongest on the expedition, and he wouldn't tolerate trash.

"There is one student who has a very shocking foundation... an anomaly..." Vegan spoke out under her breath as if she was afraid to let even the walls around her to hear her voice, but the mutants heard it clearly.

What the!

"Anomaly! It's been over seven years since the last showdown with the mech, and now we finally got another anomaly?!" Nix exclaimed as her eyes widened, large enough for one to place two round balls in them.

"But, he has awakened only one ability." Vegan held her breath as the atmosphere suddenly turned cold, while sweat slid down her cheeks.

They were talking about an anomaly here! A real f*cking anomaly! How couldn't she feel nervous...

"What ability?" Kyle asked as a smile blossomed on his face, the smile grew as he envisioned the faces of the humans when they discover the appearance of another BUG level mutant after taking down two years ago.

"Telepathy." Vegan steeled her nerves and spoke out firmly. It wasn't a problem child, nor a failure mutant that she should be nervous of... she had an anomaly under her, she should feel pride!

The entire gathering of seven mutants including the bulky strength based mutant, the busty fire based mutant, a white haired beauty and a handsome man concealing his face under his cloak.

Telepathic Abilities...

One of the strongest abilities to possess in the mutant community. Those with the ability were nearly unstoppable, it is said some with an adept control have the ability to slightly alter time!

And it was also the rarest. Only one handful of mutants have the privilege to awaken even the basic telepathic ability, telekinesis and only three mutants have reached the absolute stage of control over it with one already dead.

It seems like this lad had reached the heavens in a single step. A true anomaly, a mutant able to rival armies of Deviants alone, a true bane to human technology no wonder god only let him awaken one ability. Any more, and even the heavens would fight over him.

"This kid must be truly monstrous to directly awaken his ability with an absolute control over it." A female voice said from the furthest seat away from Nix with a tone full of awe and admiration.

The lady who spoke was the white haired beauty who sat right besides the cloaked man. She had her hair tied back in a ponytail while she was donned in an alluring pink dress with a white outline on the edges.

Her name was Marie, she was the only anomaly at the entire base, and one of the highly respected mutants. With her genes at the Master Grade she had more potential to become a member of the First Stage Seven Member Mutant Union than any one in this base except Nix.

"Most anomalies only awaken their powers when they have reached adulthood, some can't even awaken their abilities for all their lives! Even I was extremely lucky to awaken my ability at 22." Marie declared with a frown. She discovered she was one when she got her second ability at twenty-three.

"For a kid at this age to unlock power like that, he must be either an extremely lucky brat... or an overpowered monster." Nix mused with a smile as her eyes gleamed brightly.

"What's his name?" Kyle asked with a smile frown on his face as his interest towards the boy suddenly grew.

"Felix." Vegan answered with a shrug as she leaned back unto her chair.
