7 Coffee Shop

•Alex's POV•

After what happened yesterday, I didn't want to deal the boys shenanigans again, so I left a note on the counter saying I was going to the skate park.

I grabbed some cash and my skateboard then headed out. It was eight in the morning, so I knew the boys wouldn't wake up anytime soon.

I skated into to town, which was way smaller than my old town, and went to a coffee shop. It was a small shop with not many customers.

I decided on getting a cappuccino. It was really good. Better than any cappuccino I've had before. I sat down at a booth near the back of the shop and scrolled through Instagram.

After being on my phone for about ten minutes, three boys approached my booth. Two sat in front of me and one sat beside me. I was completely trapped between them. I shifted uncomfortably.

"Can I help y'all?" I asked politely.

"What's your name, cutie?" The boy directly in front of me asked.

I looked down not wanting to answer.

"He asked you a question." The boy next to me barked.

"I really need to get going." I said trying to get away from them.

I went to stand up and possibly climb over the table, but the boy beside me pushed me back down into the seat. He shoved his shoulder into mine, and I winced.

The third boy laughed and said, "Just answer the damn question."

I looked around for help, but the only other people in the shop was an elderly couple. The baristas seemed completely oblivious to what was happening.

I looked down, but the boy in front of me reached across the table and yanked my chin up. He continued calling me names, and I felt tears well up in my eyes.

I heard the coffee shop door open, and I prayed it was someone who would help. However, it was just some guy in athletic clothing with headphones. He probably came from the gym across the street.

"Now bitch, answer my goddamn question. What is your name?"

The guy who had just walked in must have heard him say that because he turned around. My eyes widened when I noticed it was Brandon!

"Please let me go." I whimpered.

The boy in front of me laughed and yanked my hair towards him. He crashed his lips into mine and I tried to pull away but he was too strong.

"Let her go." I heard someone say.

The boy let go and looked up. It was Brandon, and I could practically see smoke coming out of his ears because of how mad he looked.

"Why the fuck should we listen to you?" The boy beside me asked.

Brandon yanked him out of the booth and punched him square in the jaw. The other boys sat there in fear. They quickly got up and ran out of the coffee shop.

I wiped the tears off of my face and got up. Before I could walk out, Brandon stopped me.

"I'm taking you home." He said harshly.

"I don't need your help. I can get home myself." I said trying to sound tough.

"Really!? Because just a second ago you were being forced to kiss that asshole, and now you say you don't need my help!" He said angrily.

He was right. I tried to answer his question, but I couldn't. He grabbed my arm rather roughly and dragged me to his car. He threw my skateboard into the backseat of his car and shoved me in the front.

Once he got in, I buckled my seatbelt and stared out the window.

After an uncomfortable silence, I finally spoke up. "Please don't tell my stepbrothers."

"Why?" He asked.

"I...I don't want to appear weaker than I already am." I said quietly.

Brandon didn't answer. He just turned up his stupid rap music and continued driving. When we finally arrived at my house, Liam opened the door before I could.

"Where the hell have you been!?" He yelled. "We've been trying to call and text you!"

I looked down at my phone and noticed all the missed messages.

"I left a note." I said.

He still stood there angry. He looked up at Brandon as if just now noticing him.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

"I brought her home." Brandon answered.

"She has her skateboard. Why didn't she just skate home?" Liam questioned.

I looked up at Brandon with begging eyes.

"I saw her at the park while I was going for a run. She looked tired so I offered her a ride home." Brandon said smoothly.

Liam nodded and said "Thanks."

He motioned me inside the house and waved goodbye to Brandon.

"Oh you're finally home!" Grant said smiling.

I nodded and headed up to my room.

"Wait! I have a question for you." Grant yelled.

I walked back downstairs to see Kade and Grant staring at me.

"What?" I asked suspiciously.

"Who do you think is stronger?" Kade asked.

I rolled my eyes. They are so childish. I knew Grant was definitely stronger, but if I said that Kade would be mad at me. I really didn't care though.

"Uhm.. Grant." I said.

"Ha! I told you squeaker!" Grant said putting Kade in a chokehold.

I laughed when Grant called Kade a squeaker because Kade's voice does crack a lot. I walked upstairs, so I didn't get dragged into them wrestling. Once I reached my room, I laid down and stared at the ceiling. I soon fell asleep.
