99 K-Con LA

"Thanks, Taylor. I also hope the song will do well." I chuckled as I waved goodbye to Taylor Swift and exited their company building.

I don't know how long it's been but it has definitely been a long time since I last saw Dahyun. The last time I saw her was when we shot our We Got Married episode back in Jeju Island. Ever since then, we were in a series of busy schedules for the concerts and guest appearances in every country that we stopped by. The last time we talked over the phone was 3 days ago, and it only lasted for less than 5 minutes so it wasn't really a conversation at all. She was also half asleep because it was morning from where they were. We were currently in the middle of our American Tour and because of that, the time difference from where we were and where they currently were was a day. That's why it was really hard to communicate.

Before we started our Tour in Europe, there were a bunch of delays because of the terrorism that took place near Great Britain. Because of that, there was a lockdown procedure that was implemented. Travelling was banned because of the intel they received that there were also several other terrorists in other countries in Europe. We were stuck in France during those times for about almost two weeks and had to reschedule all our remaining tours. This also caused a lot of delay in the filming for our next show. Dahyun also called in from time to time to check up on me. She was completely out of it when they had their concert in Sydney since she was distracted by the thought of what was going on with Alpha. Zee also helped out the inter-pol in tracking down the terrorists' main hideout. It took him a while since they were really good at hiding their tracks. After a few days of trying to crack it down, they finally found the IP Address' location and pinpointed it in Greece. The authorities were able to take them out in one swoop.

After the lockdown lifted, we immediately continued our tour in Europe and ended it with a bang. No pun intended. The American tour came after that and it was going more smoothly than expected. Especially since the tour dates got moved and most of the schedules got reshuffled. It was definitely a lot of work for our marketing team and managers. They had plenty of sleepless nights during those two weeks of being in the hotel. Still, they were able to pull it off. I also kept my promise with Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift in collaborating with them. Bruno Mars was very happy with "Uptown Funk". I mean, why wouldn't he be when it was one of the best songs he ever made in the previous world?

Taylor Swift was also very happy with the song that I've "written" for her. She was surprised that I was able to "create" such a fantastic song. "Two is Better Than One", which was sung by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift in the previous world, actually won a lot of awards. It was a very inspiring love song after all and many people could relate somehow. It only took us the entire morning to record the song. Taylor is a genius when it comes to singing as well and was a professional in every aspect. Here in this world at least. I never met her in the previous world after all. Unlike the previous world, she had a thriving relationship with John Meyer. In fact, they were married back in 2013. The real reason why Taylor wanted to collaborate with me was because her husband was a huge fan of Alpha. Funny how everything played out for us.

"Come visit us anytime you're in town." John called out excitedly.

I nodded in response. "Alright. I'll treat you guys with some good food when I do. I just really need to go now because of a schedule."

Taylor checked her watch and gasped. "Oh right! You need to head to Staples Center for KCON, right?"

John chuckled while shaking his head. "That's not the only thing he's looking forward to, Hon."

She raised her eyebrow at John. "Really? Is there more to it?"

"There's a certain girl that he's looking forward to seeing. Am I right, JayB? Isn't that why you were constantly checking your watch?" He teased.

I blushed at the comment before smiling wryly. "Y-Yeah… I'm sorry for being so impatient."

"I totally understand." John waved it off before putting his arms over Taylor's shoulder while looking at her lovingly. "Even I would miss the love of my life just a few days into my tour. I can't imagine how you're feeling right now. You know, being away from Dahyun for more than a month."

"It's torture. That's how it feels." I joked which the both of them took really well as they laughed it off. I then gave them a final nod before entering our van. "I really have to go and meet her now. It was really nice to work with you guys. Our company will contact you for the contract and all."

"Sure thing. I hope this won't be the last collaboration that we'll be having." Taylor smiled.

"It won't be. I'm sure of it." I confirmed as I returned a smile of my own.

After saying our goodbyes, our van drove off to the next schedule… the KCON in Staples Center.

____________

"D-Dahyun-ie… I c-can't breathe…" I patted Dahyun's back while trying to breathe.

As soon as I entered our dressing room, I was greeted with a surprise tackle from my virtual wife. She suddenly jumped on me and was currently hugging me in a tight grip. You can just imagine how tight it felt. I almost died. Indeed, it's been more than a month since I saw her. She even dyed her hair blonde and I barely recognized her because of it. And the fact that she was strangling me to death with her hug was also an indicator of how much she missed me.

"Oh! Sorry! I just got so excited when I saw you. You have no idea how much I've missed you." She said as she immediately let go.

I chuckled before pulling her in for a kiss. "I missed you too AND you've become prettier since the last time I saw you. Wait… did you lose weight?"

She blushed madly at the sudden gesture. "Well… It was because I couldn't eat well when you guys were in Europe."

"GET A ROOM YOU TWO! You're not the only ones here." Dominic interrupted our reunion as he rolled his eyes at us. The rest of Twice's and Alpha's members also laughed at his remark.

Mina then joined in the teasing. "Don't listen to Dahyun, JayB-oppa. She was crying herself to sleep every night. She ate a lot but was also sleepless because she was really worried about you."

"MINA-UNNIE!" Dahyun, filled with embarrassment, ran towards Mina and tried to hit her and keep her quiet, but Mina was quick enough to dodge. They soon started running around the room. The teasing and laughing soon stopped when their manager came over to get them.

"We'll see you guys after the event. Jeong Do is treating us for dinner tonight." Zee said.

Jeong Do, with a surprised expression on his face, snapped his head towards Zee. "Wait what? I am?"

"Thanks for the meal, love!" Sana continued made Jeong Do sigh in defeat. The girls then left for their dressing room leaving Alpha to prepare for the event.

Jeong Do then glared at Zee. "Why the heck did you say that I would be treating everyone?"

Zee shrugged. "Because Sana-ya told me to."

"She's one spoiled girlfriend." Seiji-hyung said.

"Well, she's MY spoiled girlfriend. And besides, I'd rather have her become spoiled towards me than with anyone else." Jeong Do laughed.

Dominic laughed. "You know that she's just doing that because she missed hanging out with you, right? She's not THAT spoiled."

"Yeah. She has her moments." Jeong Do agreed.

Just then, Wosik-hyung entered the room. "Why aren't you guys dressed yet?! We're about to start the surprise event soon!"

We all had confused looks on our faces. Yo Chul-hyung then raised his eyebrow at our manager. "What surprise event?"

Shortly after Yo Chul-hyung entered, Ming Do then entered the room panting. "S-Sorry… I came here as fast as I could."

"Didn't you tell them about the surprise event?" Wosik-hyung asked him.

Ming Do-hyung smiled wryly at him. "I was dealing with the technical personnel for their performance and completely forgot about it."

Wosik-hyung sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "It's fine. Most of them are wearing makeup now and JayB-ya's the only one who needs to have his makeup done. Get the rest of them to wear the disguises ASAP. Let's go! Get moving!"

Our managers started taking care of us but we were still in the dark as to what we were about to get ourselves into. I couldn 't take it anymore so I then asked. "So what are we going to do?"

Ming Do-hyung then turned his attention to me. "You're going to be 'getting to know' people."

_________

"Why in the world are you wearing that lame disguise, JayB-hyung?" Jiwoo asked while staring at me from head to foot.

I was heading towards Alpha's rap and vocal units who were standing near the entrance to the main hall. Astro was currently performing with ATEEZ inside. It was a joint stage just for LA KCON. This was the great thing about KCON. It was just a week about KPOP and everything related to that. There were also a LOT of performances. This was a time to showcase idol performances from various groups and to top that off, there are plenty of unexpected special stages to surprise the fans. There are also a lot of surprises for the fans who couldn't go inside the main hall yet. It was also to give those people a chance to experience KCON and not just be there for the performances. KCON, is after all, a chance for idols to give back to their fans. That is why most of us were looking forward to this.

Speaking of surprises, we were about to do one right now. As soon as the doors to the hall would again, we would head straight for the VVIP part. Then that's where we'll start our event.

The goal was for the vocal unit to surprise fans as they mingle with them. They will be separated away from each other in pairs. The performance team will act as the cameramen to document this event. For the first part, there will be a teaser video for our group. While it was playing, our members would try to distract and annoy our fans. As soon as the teaser finishes, "Campfire" will start playing. They will then start revealing themselves and sing for the fans. Pretty simple yet cool right? Still, there were a lot of disguised bodyguards in the crowd just in case. But overall, it was an exciting plan.

"What? What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" I asked, trying to sound offended.

Zee facepalmed. "Aren't you supposed to blend in and not stand out?"

"Yeah? Don't I fit the description?" I made a 360 degree turn to show them what I was wearing.

"Lame." Zhang grimaced.

I jerked a little. "That's pretty harsh, Zhang-ah."

"He's actually right, hyung. You stand out too much." Jiwoo smiled wryly.

"Lose the pink checkered jacket. Please. I'm begging you." Zee sighed as he tried taking it off me. He then turned to one of our managers and borrowed their crew jacket. He then tossed it to me to wear.

Zhang gave me a nod. "Much better."

"You actually look a whole lot better now." Jiwoo approved.

Wosik-hyung then came jogging towards us. "3 minutes before the teaser starts playing. Get into place."

After receiving our instructions, we quickly went into our positions and waited for the video to start. The video started playing in a semi-slowmo to give off that "feel the moment" kind of ambiance and the first person to show up on screen was me. I was on a hammock with my guitar. I was acting really lonely as I played it. We shot this as the sun was setting so the colors in the video were projecting a nostalgic and sad vibe. I slowly turned to the side and saw the sun completely envelop me in darkness.

The next scene was shown as I slowly turned to where the campfire was supposed to be lit and it showed Yo Chul-hyung trying to light the fire while laughing at Zee who was rubbing his arms trying to keep himself warm. Matt-hyung then joined the scene as he placed a blanket over Zee while giving him a smile. The fire started which illuminated the entire place. The three of them cheered. I turned my head to the side and the camera followed suit to see where I was trying to face. It soon revealed Jiwoo, Seiji-hyung and Dominic entering the scene. Jiwoo was carrying the several bags of food while Seiji-hyung and Dominic were carrying together a large ice box.

As soon as Seiji-hyung and Dominic settled the ice box, the rest of the group started flocking it to try and get some drinks. Dominic then turned to the side and as if they were trying to call someone to join them. The camera then slowly panned towards where Dominic was facing and showed Jeong Do and Zhang trying to set up a tent and was badly failing at it. Seeing that they were not going anywhere with what they were doing, they dropped what they were holding and headed towards the group. The scene then soon changed with all of my members gathered around the campfire while enjoying the food and drinks with smiles and laughter.

The camera then turned to me as I watched them with loneliness in my eyes. My members then turned to me and motioned for me to join them. I gave them a warm and sad smile, the members slowly faded as and what remained was the single campfire as if everything was just in my memory. The teaser ended with me looking up the stars and giving off a smile.

It was a teaser that talks about where we were right now, both with our friendship and our fans as well. The teaser posed a question, "When the time comes when our journey would come to an end, would we still hold the memories that we shared deep in our hearts?" I believe that after watching that teaser, the fans clearly understood what it was about. But the fans beside my members were already pretty much annoyed by them.

Soon, "Campfire" started playing and the audience cheered. Since we were undercover, we also pretended to cheer. As the first verse started, they were curious as to where the voice was coming from. There was no one on stage, and the screen was just flashing the lyrics to the song. Suddenly, a crowd of people started cheering loudly as if they were surprised with something. It seemed that the event was a success. Jiwoo surprised the people from their side of the crowd and were really happy about it. The rest of Alpha soon followed suit with the song. At the bridge of the song, we were already on stage preparing for the last part. The song soon ended as we greeted and thanked our fans. Oh! And the fans that we engaged didn't leave empty handed, we actually gave them a signed copy of our album before we went on stage. They were extremely glad about the freebie. After all, every fan dreamt of having a FREE signed copy given directly to them by their idols, don't they?

After that event, I immediately prepared for the next surprise event for the KCON goers. A flash mob was on the way and it was a special one at that. In 30 minutes, there was a Random Dance challenge just outside the main hall, and we were going to mob it. Why was it special? Because not everyone in Alpha was going there. The rest of the Alpha members were going to other parts of the stadium to surprise fans, but for our performance unit, we were joining the mob.

It wasn't just us, Momo was going to be there too. Eunbi, Yena and Chaeyeon from IZ*ONE would also join in the fun. And to think that it would become more lively since we won't be the only performance unit there. Seventeen's performance unit was going to be there too. Of course, BTS' Jimin was there too, together with Blackpink's Lisa. It was almost like an all-star line up with Seulgi joining in the mix too. I've never seen so many Main and Lead dancers gathered in one place. All 14 of us would mob the Random Dance challenge. We would be dancing to the greatest hits of SNSD, Wondergirls, 2PM, EXO, Big Bang and Psy. It was going to be epic.

The crowd gathered as the Random Dance challenge began. These people have no idea what's coming for them. We were dressing up casually so they didn't really know that we were actually here waiting for the director's signal from our IEMs. The music started playing and we were grooving along to the beat as if we didn't know most of the dances here. I saw Momo over from the otherside just dancing from time to time and pretending as if she was shy to dance. The others were just calmly observing while I saw Jimin trying to engage a girl into a conversation.

A couple of songs passed by and we were nearing the end. The director soon gave us instructions to prepare since we were about to go up. The last two songs played but before the chorus could end, the music turned off as if it was broken. The lights in the hallway flickered on and off which was the cue to start the mob. Jimin, together with Seventeen and Alpha's performance unit soon started performing in the middle. They were surprised as we started dancing to 2PM's Heartbeat. The crowd was starting to get confused as there was security blocking the dance floor. As soon as we revealed our faces, the crowd erupted with shouts and cheers.

While we were performing the song, Eunbi, Yena, Chaeyeon, Seulgi, Momo and Lisa positioned themselves behind us and were getting ready to perform SNSD's Genie. The crowd became louder as they cheered for their biases. The music slowly faded out and the countdown began for the next song. It was soon replaced with the next song which was Wondergirls' Tell me. This time the crowd went wild seeing their guy idols dance to a girl group song. Personally, I really don't like dancing to any girl group songs, but you have to keep your fans happy, right? Even if it somehow costs you some face.

The next song soon came on and the girls definitely rocked it! It was Big Bang's Bang Bang Bang. As soon as the chorus came on, the fans sang along and it almost made me deaf as everyone was only half singing to the song and were mostly shouting the lyrics. But it was all for good fun. We then ended the performance with Psy's New Face which made everyone really excited. Psy was just as popular here than he was in the previous world. He broke the billion-view marked first before Alpha did. So this song was just a fitting ending for this surprise event.

It soon ended and we started making our way out. The fans were kind enough to let us through, knowing that we were in a hurry for the next event. Fortunately for Alpha, we still had about an hour of rest left before we perform up on stage. Today, we were performing Boom Boom and Clap which were the songs that won the fan voting online. We were also happy to give what the fans wanted. Still, we were performing this with a twist. Hopefully, the Pack would love it.

The dressing rooms seemed very far as we started making our way there. It's probably because we were so exhausted from the consecutive events. Right now, it was Shinee, Mamamoo and APink's turn to do their surprise events so we were in the clear for now. I passed out as soon as I lay on our dressing room's sofa. It felt like I was sleeping peacefully for hours until I felt a hand brush against my hair and continued to stroke it. Based on the perfume, I definitely knew who it was.

"Enjoying the view?" I groggily said as I slowly opened my eyes.

"Definitely." Dahyun replied as she continued to play with my hair.

"Shouldn't you be preparing or something?" I asked her as I slowly intertwined my fingers with hers.

She raised her eyebrow at me. "Are trying to make me leave or something?"

I chuckled in response. "You know that's not what I meant, right?"

Dahyun giggled. "I know. Anyway, I just came over to check up on you. Did you rest well?"

"I WAS resting well until someone started brushing my hair." I smirked.

"Are you trying to pick a fight with me right now?" Dahyun narrowed her eyes at me.

After giving her a smile, I suddenly pulled her in for a hug. I then gave a soft tender kiss on her forehead. "I just missed you."

"Then why are you constantly teasing me." She pouted and acted all cute.

Her response made me blush a little. "I miss doing that too."

Suddenly, I hear a person sigh deeply. It was Dominic. "In case you forgot, we exist too."

Dahyun laughed as she slowly got up. "I should go and prepare. You should too. You're about to go up in 20 minutes."

"What?!" I quickly stood up and checked my watch. "Why didn't you guys wake me up?!"

Zhang rolled his eyes. "We did. We tried everything. Apparently, only Dahyun-ie can wake you up now."

Dahyun lightly smacked Zhang's back. "You just didn't try hard enough."

"Ya! Did you forget that I'm older than you?" Zhang rubbed the back of his head while glaring at Dahyun.

"Oh come on! It wasn't that hard!" Dahyun chuckled while smacking his back. Before Zhang could retaliate, Twice's manager came in to pick up Dahyun.

Dahyun then turned to me. "Gotta go, loverboy. See you later?"

"You know it." I replied.

As soon as they left, Wosik-hyung entered the room with an angry look. "JayB-ssi! Why aren't you dressed yet?! You're about to go up! I was about to put on your gear! Get moving!"

Zee snickered. "Oooh... someone got in trouble."

"Yang Zihao! You too! You're not even wearing the right pants! Get to it!" Wosik-hyung yelled.

I laughed and went over to Zee and whispered to him. "And you were saying?"

"Shut up!" Zee fired back.

__________

"Did you guys enjoy that?!" Jeong Do yelled over the microphone as soon as we finished performing.

Clap and Boom Boom really were a hit! Especially after tweaking it a little. The fans were screaming from the start until the end. I guess they were not into fanchanting but were into singing and shouting. It's also surprising that they were able to sing in Korean fully.

"I guess they were. I couldn't actually hear myself from the constant cheering." Dominic joked.

The fans cheered once more before Zee went over to his hyungs. "Dominic-hyung, Jeong Do-hyung… I can't believe that the cheers were really loud. But can they get any louder?"

Dominic chuckled since he knew where this was going but he played along with Zee. "Probably not. What do you think Jeong Do?"

"I guess not." Jeong Do continued.

Zee shook his head. "Staples Center! MAKE! SOME! NOISE!"

And just like that, the arena erupted with shouts and cheers. Once again, the fans fell for it and just cheered out their loudest. The arena shook from the loud cheers and I felt rejuvenated by everyone's cheers. Zee really knows how to hype out a crowd. He's not a rapper for no reason. He's actually more of a hype man than a rapper at this point.

We took our time in engaging and conversing with the crowd. Alpha was given around 10 minutes to interact with the audience before we head back to the dressing rooms, but we were planning on staying since after the next group to perform, Twice was going to come up and showcase their performance.

The director was giving us a signal through our IEMs that we were running out of time and we should start redirecting our conversation towards introducing the next set of performers. It was our job after all. The crowd were really excited for the next batch of idols to come up on stage and perform. They were just as popular here as they were in the previous world.

"Speaking of the fireworks earlier, I think we're in for a treat for the next set of performers guys." Dominic started the spiel.

Zhang raised an eyebrow at him. "Hyung, what a weird way to transition. What's the relation to this group and fireworks?"

Zee scoffed. "You really love music and you don't even know the next group's latest song?"

Jeong Do laughed. "Yeah, Zhang. How could you?"

Matt-hyung patted Zhang's back. "How could you, man? JayB-ya was the one who wrote this song for them."

"Oh! It's that song! Wow! You wrote that?" He pretended to sound surprised as he turned to me.

I chuckled in response. "Yeah, but they did better than I expected them to be."

Zhang nodded. "I'm pretty sure they'll sound better when they perform it LIVE for everyone here today."

Jiwoo then went in and shouted over at the mic. "Without further ado. LA! Give it up for the global icon, BTS!"

The crowd roared in response to Jiwoo's introduction. As soon as we finished our spiel, we immediately went backstage. BTS was there to greet us as well.

"Yo! Thanks for the wonderful introduction!" RM said as we passed them.

J-Hope then patted my shoulder. "You did really great. Good job."

"Thanks. Go kill it." I responded.

"You know it." J-Hope replied with his toothy grin.

Jungkook was just staring at me weirdly with melancholy in his eyes. Jimin patted my shoulder which snapped me out of my trance. "Yo, you should attend to your girlfriend."

"What's up?" I asked while scanning the backstage for her.

He chuckled. "Usual nerves."

"Ah. I see. Thanks, Jimin-ah. Enjoy yourselves." I told him as he gave me a thumbs up in return.

Twice really seemed anxious but among them, it was quite evident with Mina. They were performing 3 songs today and it was really nerve-wrecking for them to do so. Although they have performed several times already, especially when they had their Asian tour, the nerves never seem to go away. It was especially true for Mina.

Dominic approached Mina and rubbed her back. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Mina tried her best to smile but her shaking hands betrayed what she was saying.

"You know you're shaking violently, right?" Dominic smiled wryly.

Mina sighed. "Is it that obvious?"

He nodded in return. "Very."

"I don't know what's wrong with me. I was fine a minute ago, but somehow, it started getting worse when I thought about performing up on stage." Mina explained.

"Well, you don't have to force yourself if you're that nervous." Dominic told her.

She shook her head in response. "Many people travelled this far to see us perform. I don't want to let them down."

"I'm sure your fans will understand." Dominic gave a reassuring smile.

Mina nodded her head. "Yeah, they will, but I still want to perform."

Seiji-hyung then handed a cup to Mina. "Here… It'll help you calm down."

Dominic narrowed his eyes at Seiji-hyung and stopped. "Wait… it's not one of those crazy experimental serums of yours, is it?"

"It's chamomile tea, Dom-ah. Chill." Seiji-hyung chuckled.

Mina gladly took the cup and started sipping from it. Although she started calming down, the rest of the members of Twice were still not doing pretty well. It was especially true with Dahyun. I approached her and sat beside her.

"Hey…" I called out.

"Hey…" She was pretty much focused on calming herself down that she didn't notice me sit beside her.

"You don't look too well." I joked.

She smiled a little. "I'm just a little worried."

"What's up?" I asked.

Dahyun then held my hand and slowly faced in my direction. "It's just… you guys performed really well. Then there's BTS who's probably going to set the stage on fire… probably literally… how are we going to compete with that?"

I chuckled. "This is not a competition and based on what your manager told us, you guys did really well on your rehearsals yesterday. We didn't even have time to rehearse last night and just did our blockings."

"You guys don't need rehearsals! Plus, we barely made it through rehearsals!" She started panicking.

It was then that I had enough of her anxiety. I cupped her face and drew my face near hers. "Listen… you guys will do well. I know you. You practiced WAY harder than anyone else in the team. I'm sure it'll pay off today. Besides, why don't you just treat this as another one of your stops for a concert?"

She didn't respond for a while before cupping my face and giving me a peck on the lips. "Did I ever tell you how much I love you?"

"You did. Several times actually." I chuckled.

The stage manager then called for Twice asking them to get ready. Dahyun then let go of my face and slowly stood up. "Will you be watching us perform?"

I nodded in response. "You know I will. I AM your biggest fan after all."

"That's going to make me all the more hyped up." She chuckled.

"That's good then." I replied before kissing her cheek.

"Dahyun-ah! We're gonna do our huddle now." Jihyo called out to Dahyun.

Dahyun turned to me and smiled. "See you back here?"

I pulled her in for one more hug before letting her go. "Definitely."

_______

"You're doing a great job." Yo Chul-hyung patted my shoulder as we watched our girlfriends perform from the side of the stage.

I turned to him and smiled. "We wouldn't be this close if you didn't intervene that day."

"You mean that time in the waterpark? That was Jeongyeon-ie's idea. I had nothing to do with it." He chuckled.

"Still, thanks." I patted his back.

"Don't mention it." Yo Chul-hyung replied.

As we continued conversing, I noticed that some of the stage managers were running back and forth. Some of the event coordinators were in a panicked state as they were on their phones nonstop. Even Twice's manager was looking pale as she tried to call someone while pacing back and forth.

"Hyung, I think something's up." I interrupted Yo Chul-hyung who was saying something about taking care of Dahyun properly.

Yo Chul-hyung sighed. "You can't fool me, Ja-"

"Guys! Something's wrong!" Jeong Do came rushing in with a worried look on his face.

"What's wrong?" Yo Chul-hyung also became serious.

Jeong Do was panting trying to catch his breath. "It's the girls… their stage has been hacked."

"Really?" Yo Chul-hyung looked at the girls performing but could see that nothing was wrong. "They look perfectly fine to me."

"You don't understand, hyung… Someone hacked into their IEMs, they can't hear us right now!" Jeong Do exclaimed.

"So what? What's wrong if they can't hear the music director?" Yo Chul-hyung asked.

"Hey guys! You should see this!" Matt-hyung came running to us with a piece of paper in his hand.

Matt-hyung handed the paper to us and and we read the written note. Our eyes slowly widened as our skin paled because of the contents of it. It was a death threat. I immediately looked to the Dahyun who was making her way to the second stage to perform.

"Someone get them off the stage now!" I yelled while handing the paper to Jeong Do. "Find out who did this."

I was about to rush off the stage to warn them but Matt-hyung tried to stop me. He then gave me a warning look. "I understand how you feel, but we can't just suddenly stop the event. The people might begin panicking and it'll seriously become chaotic by then. Don't worry, Zee's trying to track the hacker while trying to gain back the controls of this place."

"Hyung, my girlfriend is in trouble. I just can't sit here and watch." I told him.

Before he could respond, we noticed that the lights were gathering to where Dahyun was. These were floating LED lights and could easily be controlled by the tech booth, except that it was being manipulated by a hacker right now.

"What the hell is Zee doing?!" Jeong Do was slowly becoming irritated.

As the lights gathered, some of them were beginning to spark. It was a sign that the hacker was purposely overheating them up. Those lights are not a joke, they were as large as the tires of trucks. Imagine 8 of those hovering above your girlfriend, wouldn't you be worried as well?

"Oh no." Yo Chul-hyung gulped.

"It's starting to malfunction. At this rate, they'll start dropping anytime now." Jeong Do deduced.

Matt-hyung was stopping me from running towards Dahyun. "JayB-ya… I know what you're thinking. But if you run towards Dahyun now, the hacker might actually hasten his plans and drop all of them at the same time."

I bit my lip before shoving Matt-hyung to the side and running off to Dahyun. "This is better than not doing anything."

The crowd was surprised as they watched me run on stage and began cheering. Dahyun was alone on the other side of the huge stage and was practically on a different platform since she was given a chance to perform a solo dance break. She was looking at me weirdly as if she was surprised as to what was happening.

Just as Matt-hyung said, the hacker must have been impatient as I could see the lights shut off and was beginning to fall towards Dahyun. Everything slowed down as I watched several lights getting ready to flatten the love of my life. My heart was pounding and I could hear it beating right out of my chest. As I was just a few meters away from Dahyun, I began thinking of how much I wanted to keep her safe and how I promised to do so. Dahyun finally realized what was happening as the crowd shifted their scream of excitement to one filled with fear. Dahyun saw the lights falling towards her and was too scared to move. The lights were just meters away from Dahyun and I was inches away from her. With the bit of strength that I had, I jumped towards Dahyun to try and push her away from harm. The last thing I saw was Dahyun's worried look before everything faded to darkness.

AN:

Dear Readers,

First of all, I want to apologize for my long absence. I have prepared the chapters beforehand but have not posted them because I haven't proofread and edited them. They are basically raw. I have been busy with the things on my end especially because of the pandemic. I know that this is not an excuse, but I still want to apologize.

As promised, I will not drop this book and will continue writing it. I hope that you will continue to support this fan fiction novel. I will continue to write this book and will finish it in the first quarter of the year. That is what I promised from the start. I hope that you will continue voting and cheering on for this novel. I also hope that you will give me a heart as well.

On the brighter side, we are about to have our 1 year anniversary for this book and I wanted to do something special but because of the current season, it is difficult to do so. In addition to this, we also recently reached 1 million views/reads. This has made me all the more want to finish this book. I've already finished the outline and like what I've said, I'll hope to finish everything by the first quarter. I'll post a bundle of chapters soon. Please wait patiently. Thank you to everyone who supported this novel from the start. You know who you are. I really am grateful for all of you.

I love you all. I wish you well and I hope that you stay safe. Until we meet again.

- Doxi
