Chapter 5

The next day, sunlight shines towards the cave, where the sleeping dragon lays.

Elvis woke up from his slumber, stretching a bit as he stepped out.

(Grrr) His stomach rumbled.

"Time to hunt some food," he said, looking around to see if he could spot easy prey.

He dove deeper into the forest, where he then spotted a lone wolf that was two times his size, eating a carcass.

Elvis immediately bent low, crawling nearer to the beast and hiding in bushes so as not to blow his cover; only the sound of crushing dead leaves could be heard.

The wolf raised its head and looked in Elvis' direction, growling aggressively.

'F@ck'

He was discovered. It was his first time hunting an animal, so it wasn't a surprise that he got discovered quickly by the wolf, who is an expert in hunting.

The wolf ran and pounced at Elvis, and before he could react, he was pushed down by the wolf.

The wolf snapped its huge fangs at Elvis, who immediately avoided having his head chopped off.

Elvis used one of his feet and kicked the wolf away by its tummy.

Using one of his abilities against the wolf would have ended the fight, but Elvis wants to fight with his strength instead of his magical ability.

"Gaining battle experience is good; I will use this wolf to hone my fighting skills," he thought, smirked, and then looked at the wolf.

"Look, Mr. Lone Wolf, it is your greatest honor to face me before your death." Elvis purposely said it loudly, which irritated the wolf more.

Not only has this young, weird lizard tried to hunt him, but now it's acting all high and mighty before him, stepping on his pride.

"Roaaar!" The wolf roared, releasing a fearful aura on the young dragon so that he could be scared.

Elvis just felt a chilly breeze pass that gave him goosebumps, but thanks to his dragon pride and bloodline, the skill didn't work too much on him.

[Fear resistance acquired]

Wolf: (;ŏ﹏ŏ)

The wolf was surprised that his skill didn't work on the weird lizard.

It then dashed towards Elvis once again with greater speed.

(Bam!) Elvis was slammed against a tree; his chest area was scratched, but not too deeply thanks to his scales and steel-bodied ability.

He stayed down, pretending to still be hurt to fool the wolf.

A smirk could be seen on the wolf's face if someone looked closely.

The wolf got closer to Elvis and opened his

Its mouth is ready to bite the young dragon.

Elvis quickly raised his head and roared at the wolf, who immediately got scared.

(Pa!) A hot tail whip landed on the wolf's face and sent him flying away, which also broke its tooth.

The Wolf might be faster than Elvis in terms of speed, but Elvis is stronger than it in terms of strength.

The wolf stood up with a broken jaw and became angrier that he had been fooled by a mere lizard, which managed to break his teeth.

Instead of being cautious around Elvis, who can break his teeth easily, the wolf was already engulfed in anger.

Suddenly a strange thing happened that took Elvis by surprise: the wolf's eyes became bloodshot red, his broken teeth began to regrow, and the wolf became bigger and more fierce.

[Warning: The opponent has entered berserk mode]

"Ok, time to end this before it gets out of hand," Elvis made up his mind.

"Playtime is over!" Elvis roared at the wolf.

The wolf roared back angrily, and saliva came out of its mouth as it roared, like a rabid dog.

"Ewww." Elvis was covered in yucky saliva.

The wolf raised its paw high, ready to smash Elvis into meat paste.

Elvis closed his eyes and stood there without moving. To the wolf and others, it would seem that the young dragon had accepted his fate.

(Swoosh!) The Wolf swung his paw fast with aggression, but before his paw could hit Elvis, something unexpected happened.

"Thousand years of inferno pain!"

(Boom!) A fire arrow or more like a spear hit the wolf on its head.

Before it realized what was happening, the entire sky was filled with thousands of flame arrows pouring down like rain.

"Awoo!" the wolf screamed in agony. It looked at Elvis as if it saw a pure devil before his final death.

[New fire skill learned: thousands of years of inferno pain]

[Added to fire manipulation]

Elvis opened his eyes; the charred ashes caused by the flame were everywhere; the breeze gently blew; and the sun was about to set, creating a beautiful scene.

If anyone were to see Elvis right now coming out of the flames, only two words would come to their minds: "Super cool."

"No, no, I got carried away and burnt it to a crisp; now what am I going to eat?" Elvis suddenly remembers his original goal.

Elvis: (╥﹏╥)

He is super tired now, although the skill seems cool, powerful, and all that, but truth be told, the skill drains a lot of his energy.

He could only drag himself back to his cave, but luckily for Elvis, the fire arrow explosion had injured a rabbit.

Without thinking twice, he quickly bit the neck of the rabbit and snapped it.

He then began to dig into the meat with his fangs, the metallic taste of blood filling his mouth as he tore the muscle tissues of the rabbit, which felt heavenly to him.

Instead of feeling disgusted, Elvis enjoys eating raw meat. But what Elvis didn't notice was that, as he ate the rabbit, a golden light was flying towards his chest.

This golden light allows him to get stronger, like a permanent boost to his abilities, and he can grow bigger if he accumulates enough or eats a monster stronger than him.

Elvis didn't even remember to use the devourer's ability, and even if he did, he wouldn't, because the devourer's ability doesn't allow him to get filled and enjoy the sweetness of the meat.

He drank the blood as his wine and ate the rabbit meat without leaving any remnants—not even a single bone was left behind.

After feeling satisfied, he heads back to his cave, only to return and meet the true owner of the cave.
