3 Arrival of Fourth Batch

'ehhh?'

Adam was dumbstruck at the sudden message.

He was expecting that he would gain a D-grade skill at most as his rating was so low and only of E-rank.

But upon seeing the message, he felt like vomiting as it was so unexpected! 'Gladly, he didn't eat any, so he had nothing to vomit,' he thought.

Now, upon giving it some thought, this world was named World of Luck, and deducting from this, luck plays a big role in someone's achievement.

He just got confused at the rating of the skill and the light-color that the needle rested in.

He only heard of 5 colors being displayed on a roulette, namely; red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Likewise, he didn't hear of a light-colored at all!

Also, he never heard of an SSS-Grade skill, as the highest skill ever achieved by the previous batch of Chosen was only of A-rank skill!

And now thinking of it, he was not sure whether the skill was strongest or weakest as he doesn't have any basis to look at, only the size that the light-color occupied which is ten times thinner than his hair, and looking at the level of rarity shown on roulette, he can deduce that SSS-Grade skill was rarer than A-grade skill!

As he was lost in his thought, a message from the system rang again…

[ Trial has ended and starter skill has been claimed…]

[ The chosen will now be transported to resurrection point ]

The message states the end of the trial and now, he will be transported to the resurrection point where his real journey begins!

At the resurrection point on Batangas City, a large crowd can be observed circling the resurrection point.

If one were to see them, they can deduce that they were not a typical earthling, as they wore armors that don't exist on Earth, and some of which, holding swords and weapons with unknown existence.

They are a mixture of the first, second, and third batch of Chosen!

For the reason why they were circling the resurrection point? It was mainly because today was the arrival of the fourth batch of Chosen.

There are guilds with few members, a middle-sized guild and even the 5 largest guilds are present in the area.

They are observing each other and looking bitterly, cause, as usual, there are feuds between guilds.

Today, December 31, they gathered here to scout new talents from the fourth batch of Chosen mainly to reinforce and strengthen their unit!

When it was only 12:10 am on January 1, the people's faces started to form a varied expression as anytime now, a member of the fourth batch could resurrect on the resurrection point, and being the first to recruit them was the main priority!

Soon, a minute later, a boy with a bloodied cloth and had a hole in it, appeared on the resurrection point.

The boy starts to observe his surrounding seemingly fascinated by tall buildings and the refreshing aura that the place reveals.

As he looked at the people's faces that were around him, he could see a disappointed look on their faces.

He already knew who those people are, as he heard before that when one arrived at World of Luck, various guilds would aim to scout them directly.

He was enthusiastic about joining a guild and starts to imagine joining one, but got halted upon seeing the disappointed look on their faces...

'hmmm, why?', he thought silently

Soon, one person stepped out from the crowds and began walking towards the boy and speak when he was a meter away…

"We are from Alliance Guild, one of the five largest guilds on World of Luck, may I ask what monster did you encounter on trial? and what rating did you receive? "

The person spoke nicely, but Adam felt like there's sarcasm between the man's words.

"I encountered a rabbit with a horn on its head and I received an E-grade rating", Adam replied hesitatingly

'Pfffttt'

'ahahaha'

Soon, various laughs were heard within the area, inflicting Adam's confusion and embarrassment.

"I told you, he's a weakling ahha, even dying on the hands of one-horned rabbit, how pathetic, pfffftt", said one of the boy sarcastically, where laughs from other then followed.

Adam now knew why they had a disappointing look earlier, it was that he appeared early on the resurrection point, meaning that he died early on trial and got a poor rating.

It was believed that the longer the person can stay inside the trial, the more skillful he is.

Adam was now embarrassed by the insults and laughs that he heard, hence he started walking away from the crowds with his head lowered.

People from the guild didn't stop him, even those from small-sized guilds didn't try to scout him, cause having someone with a poor rating in their guild won't increase their strength at all, instead, it's just a waste of resources!

Adam was now away from the crowd and began to look towards the area where he was previously at with a disdain look.

As for what he is thinking? No one knew what.

Soon, Adam took his step outside the main (inner) city and began looking for a slum to stay at.

Slum may appear disgusting to other people, but for Adam? It was his comfort and this was the only place where he could feel at ease.

After a while, he reached a secluded area, and there, a slum was situated, with no people, even a beggar inside.

Since people can decide when to log out and return to Earth, they prefer logging out than staying in this slum even when they are out of money.

As Adam was so tired from all the fighting and insults he received earlier, he planned to sleep early. And contrary to his expectation, he won't eat again today.

Soon, comforts covered the wholeness of Adam as he slept peacefully inside a bin.

Meanwhile, after 30 minutes of Adams's appearance, a second member of the fourth batch appeared on the resurrection point...

And the same as before, a man from the Alliance Guild stepped forward and asked the same question which was then answered by the thin elderly woman…

"I encountered a goblin and obtained a C-Grade rating!", the thin elderly woman replied proudly

She managed to easily kill a goblin as she holds a gun as her starter weapon. And after draining all her bullets, she was then beaten to death by the goblin easily. But still, her performance gave her a C-grade rating as her gun contributed extensively.

Of course, the people from other guilds knew this, but for them, someone's rating matter's more! So even if she was elderly, her rating was enough to cause a ruckus on the crowd.

Age doesn't matter here in the World of Luck, strength, and luck do! And there's even an occurrence of a 75-year-old man defeating a 25-year-old youth before, so age has never been the basis of guilds recruitment.

Soon, various guilds ranging from small to middle size began to offer their invitation to the woman. The large guild was not even batting an eye as for them, a C-grade rating was trash!

After a while of nonstop blabbering, the woman then chose a middle-sized guild…

After that, members of the fourth batch of Chosen start to appear consecutively... having the last member appears at 5 in the evening...and among them all, A-grade rating was the highest, obtaining an A-grade unique skill.

Amidst this all, Adam was sleeping peacefully inside a bin.....
