Chapter 1Back to the Future

"You are so naive," A voice sneered and she craned her head to look at him.

"Be still. You should be proud that you will be my first experiment. There were so many people but I chose you, you should feel my love for you," A hand touched her cheek and she turned her head away.

"Now, now, see, she is shy."

Laughter.

Jamie was angry. Every cell in her body wanted to scream for revenge. But she was bound. She couldn't believe, her friends, no, they weren't her friends, they were not even humans. Beasts.

They wanted to inject her with alien DNA. Why? Because the zombie virus didn't work on her.

The zombie apocalypse happened on a fine beautiful morning. Her family had gone out on a road trip. And only she survived.

She saw the declining humanity and she fought to live. She had found some other survivors and after being deceived many times, she finally met her team.

Six members against the world of zombies.

"Marc, stop touching her. Let's finish it. Maybe we can get her space."

Jamie felt tears clouding her vision. This was her friend who once talked about her dreams.

"Dana, darling. Her powers and space, for you."

His voice was making her want to erupt.

Jamie still had hope. Not everyone on her team was bad.

"Marc, can't you leave her? You can test it on someone else."

There he was. Luke. She almost treated him like her brother.

"Ha, you should have thought that before you developed it with the zombie virus. Don't act like you didn't know."

Dana sneered.

Jamie's heart broke.

No one, no one in the team was going to save her. She understood that they were with her because she had space superpowers. The zombie apocalypse had wiped out almost everyone. There were very few superpowers and space superpowers were rare. Her power was even incredible. She could grow food.

Jamie decided.

"Tsk, tsk, Jenny, you don't know. Your pathetic friends, died earlier today. Poor them, they wanted to come back to show you a flower. Kelly died with a flower in her hand."

Jamie felt rage enveloping her. Kelly, sweet sweet Kelly. She was still a kid. And Nate, the serious guy who showed care and kindness even after the apocalypse swept it away from the surviving humans.

"Where's Gem?"

"Oh, look, she can speak."

Marc sneered again.

"Gem will be the new zombie king. How is it? Huh?"

Rage overtook her and Jamie remembered the filthy alien she had seen. The maggot-like body, and the desolate feeling it gave, remembering this gave her power. This was different from space superpowers.

This was raw. This was innate. This was powerful.

"Marc, what's happening?"

The machines started beeping.

Alarms started ringing.

Aliens swarmed into the room and Marc communicated something. Jamie couldn't understand.

"Come on, Dana, let's leave. I'll use the auto function and it will be done."

Footsteps. They were leaving.

Jamie felt the aliens nearing her. If she was destined to die, she would die as Jamie. Not some ugly alien zombie.

For Gem, For Nate. For Kelly.

She opened her eyes and turned towards the camera in the ceiling.

She mouthed- ×××× you, Marc.

Then she exploded.

Her magic exploded.

Her space exploded.

Her consciousness spread and she saw the pale faces of Marc and Dana. She saw the disgusting aliens turn into ashes.

And she saw sweet Gem being protected.

She can die now.

---

When Jamie woke up, she felt her body was tattered. That was given considering she had exploded herself and somehow became alive once again.

She opened her eyes hoping to see devastation but she saw a canopy of trees.

What? How was that possible? In the zombie apocalypse, it was difficult for a tree to be normal. The monster plants were just like zombies, deadly. But this tree was normal, like a real normal one.

Had she time-traveled to the past? She sat up and the pain made her almost travel back.

'Huh, she was dying, how come she woke up?'

A voice said. Jamie understood that her superpowers were here.

'Strange. What do we do?'

'Leave her. Let's go hunt some zombies.'

The zombies? She was still in the same world.

She stood and walked in the direction where she heard the voices.

She saw two men walking away.

"Why are you following us?"

The man turned. Wow. Handsome guy.

Angry but handsome.

"You are just walking ahead of me."

The other man looked at her curiously.

Before she could say anything, it started raining. Rain in the apocalypse wasn't nourishing. It was a killing one.

This rain was the same. They ran towards a tree. Jamie thought of her special umbrella and it appeared. Her space was still with her too.

What was happening here? Where was she?

"Where did you get that? How nice would it be if the superpowers weren't lost? We would have obliterated the zombies till now. If not for that Jenny, we would all be happy."

What? What was that now?

"Jenny, powers?"

Apparently, that keyword was enough for him to chat. The other guy stayed silent.

"Yeah, right? If she hadn't been jealous of High Leader Marc and Dana, there wouldn't be The Explosion and we wouldn't have Super Powers. I mean, everyone lost their powers and even now, we can't get one. Just so sad."

Jamie was angry. Those beasts. They blamed it on her. If she knew where they were, she would go kill them.

"Hey, I forgot, what's the date?"

The man felt sympathy.

"Poor you. You don't know how long you've been here. It's 302 AA, Jan 2."

Oh, so three hundred years have passed. Maybe Marc and Dana died. Bad news.

"Who are the High Leaders now?"

He looked like she was going loopy. A mad person.

"High Leaders Marc and Dana. They have been leading us since the beginning."

Good. Good.

"Where are High Leaders living now?"

Looking at her gossiping face, he answered readily.

"They live on the space station. I want to go there too."

The yearning in his eyes reminded her of Kelly. She would have these normal trees.

But Marc and Dana. Good job on not dying.

She was here to send them on their way.

Adaptation

Pepper writes stories that span the gamut from humorous to heartfelt, however the common theme is crossing boundaries. Pepper's unique stories often tackle taboo topics such as mental illness and homelessness. Readers will find themselves questioning their own sense of right and wrong, attraction and desire. In addition to writing, the author is also an artist, an introverted recluse, a self proclaimed empath and a foodie. Pepper Pace can be contacted at: pepperpace.author@yahoo.com Carmella was still a teen when the Motherships first appeared dotting the skies over the Earth. For years the world tried to normalize while the silent Motherships hovered. And then THEY arrived, promising that they meant no harm. But within ten years eighty percent of the world’s population would be wiped out. Including everyone that Carmella loved. The ‘blobs’ took those that survived to another planet called Earth Two. But Carmella was an Earthling and she would kill the hated monsters that had destroyed her world before she would allow them to take her. Carmella settled into a lonely existence on the now desolate earth—all alone except for her wolf. And then she sees it hiding, watching her—maybe to capture her and remove her from the only thing that she can still call her own--her world. But Bilal is not like the other Centaurians. He is fully aware that he will never be like the humans that he’s grown up with. Earth is the only home he knows and he feels that he is just as much an Earthling as any human. Shunned by his own kind, Bilal travels the Earth trying to capture an essence of the life that he could never be a part of and a world that would never accept him. When he sees the black woman living all alone his curiosity gets the best of him. He cannot stop himself from watching her, and secretly growing more attached to the human. Bilal’s quest to become human brings him to a decision that will forever change the course of human-kind. In an attempt to ease the woman's loneliness--or perhaps a need to recreate himself, Bilal impregnates the woman with his Alien DNA.

QT: Finding Meaning

*** My health has been very poor this year alongside loosing my mother-in-law and cat so I'm sorry but this will be rewritten and finished when I'm well, I'm doing it all offline in my rare creative moments, hopefully with a more mature touch *** [WARNING: Mature Themes (smut, violence, murder, suicide, domestic violence, etc.)] --------- Waking up naked and alone with a murderer, without a single memory, she relies on System to understand her existence in another person's body. --------- Still don't know if you should read me? Here's a quick breakdown to help you make up your mind if this novel is right for you: This is my own twist on the QuickTransmigration System genre, giving it a more 'spiritual' twist. It explores sensitive themes throughout each arc and I will do my best to give trigger warnings at the start of chapters containing them. It is written in the first person and revolves around a female lead (FL). This is a weak-to-strong novel, she will have heavy flaws and make repeated mistakes and seem generally weak at the start, bear with her as she grows. Romance is a heavy theme within the story that contains a lot of smut, with more than one character. However, there is only one male lead in the end. The story is less about fluffy romance, instead, it's a journey of growth and self-discovery, revolving around the main storyline. Although, each Arc will have its own separate storyline that will have an impact on the main storyline with both new and reoccurring characters (so skipping arcs is not advised). I have currently written the rough drafts for four arcs at the point of writing this: 1. Ghosts & Guns 2. How do you keep a child alive in the Zombie Apocalypse? 3. Abducted by Aliens 4. Freed by the Fae Folk 5. .... --------- --------- Cover Art made by myself, using nightcafe AI Art, check out my page, I'm attempting to make novel art and character art for each arc: https://creator.nightcafe.studio/u/Raychbunni
