1 Kidnapped and Abandoned?

This world is quite boring…

This was the last thought that came to Augustus's mind before sleeping. Some people may argue over the statement saying you won't know unless you enjoy it and what they say is absolutely right. He tried to enjoy the 'life' as much as he could, but in the end he could not fathom what people enjoy about it. Augustus imitated people and expanded his boundaries but he still couldn't understand the enjoyment in life.

"Maybe I am born into the wrong world."

Just as he was about to turn, he felt like he am about to fall. Thinking of it as common occurrence, Augusts chose to ignore it. However, the feeling of falling didn't stop but instead, it intensified. As he realized this, he panicked and opened his eyes to discover that he was really falling and ground was approaching fast.

"Huhh!!! What!! Wasn't I lying on my bed? The Hell!!!"

Wave of pain raged across his body and I could feel his muscles sore. The height of fall was about twenty meters. Clenching his teeth, Augustus got up carefully examining his body. It was quite fortunate that he didn't fractured any bones though there were some bruises. But how could he fall twenty meters? His bed height is less than a meter! Sighing, he tried to stand but the strange felling brushed across his palm.

Hmm, Grass? Soil? What happened to the carpet?

Augustus stood up to survey his surroundings. It seems like he was in the middle of a forest. The trees were stretching out the wilderness and were at least 800 meters tall.

So High!! What a weird dream...

Sighing, Augustus examined the sky. Some stars were peeking through the canopy and some outline of clouds could also be seen. The scene was no different from the movies. The magnificent scene could catch anyone's breath and capture anyone's mind. It was his first time experiencing such a lucid dream, and the feeling was quite indescribable. He wanted to enjoy the view as much as he can before waking up. The cold wind silently blew making his body shiver. Augustus folded his hands in order to keep himself warm. Then it dawned on him, he could feel his hands. Aren't all senses except sight almost shut during dreams? I slightly pinched his hand, it hurts. He pinchs harder, it hurts more. When I fell down, didn't the bruises hurt too? Since I could feel the pain then this isn't a dream?

What the hell is happening? Where am I? Wasn't I supposed to be sleeping on my bed? Putting that aside, isn't this a forest? Night? Isn't that dangerous? SHIT! What if a wild animal comes? Should I climb a tree? No, the tree seems quite high climbing it won't be possible in my current physical state. Who am I kidding? Climbing a normal sized tree is an impossible task for me, ignoring these giant sized tree. I wonder what should be the normal course of action that I should take. Maybe I should ask Alice for tips on what she did in wonderland. Fuck normal!

"Maybe I should survey the area and try to locate a water source. Finding about this place will take some time."

Augustus, regaining his calm composure, decided to locate a water source. If he was to spend some days here, he can't go on without water. Dehydration was the major factor that caused death in these type of situations. But hours of wandering couldn't produce any result. Augustus was a shut-in boy so naturally he wasn't accustomed to such arduous work. Thinking and criticizing over his strategy, he breathed in some air. His mind was filled with doubts, questions and complaints and he knew that they can only be kept within his mind only. How can he get some answer when there is no one around. Moving around some more, his nostrils were filled with a disgusting smell. This smell could urge anyone to puke out and could be ranked number one in the worst smells of the world.

Hoping to find some clues of his whereabouts, Augustus approached the source of the disgusting, puke-welcoming smell. This rotten smell seemed to be coming from a corpse of a wild animal nearby. What made his heart leap was the size of this wild animal. The dead animal seemed to be a dingo with a body size comparable to a wild cow. Its belly was sliced apart with intestines and some organs bulging out. It seemed to have a pair of horns which were broken. Its jaw has fallen off giving the body a more sinister look. Unable to bear the sight and smell, Augustus moved away from the body. He had never heard of such an animal before much less seen one. He resumed his search for a water body and got even more aware of the surroundings. For whatever did that to the dingo was simply dangerous.

After walking for about 2 kilometers more, Augustus' legs couldn't take it anymore. He fell on the ground and pondered over his next set of plans. While panting, a familiar smell rose up his nose giving him a nausea. Forgetting his tiredness, Augustus moved towards the source. Same but more brutal scene occurred before his eyes. The dead dingo with its jaws dangling, broken horn and cut across its belly. This dingo even had its limbs twisted in an irregular way. One can imagine how brutal its murderer was. If not for this dingo having only one horn and its limbs twisted, Augustus would have assumed that he was going in circles around the forest.

Suddenly, he heard rustling of the nearby bushes. Thinking it was a wild animal, his body subconsciously moved towards the near bushes carefully hiding in it. In no time a hoarse voice was heard, which without any doubt belonged to a human. His heart sighed with relief even though he could not make out what was said. Just as Augustus was getting out and planning to ask for help, his feet froze. The two men who appeared out of the bushes could be seen. What froze him to the place was that they had bulging muscles with scars on their arms and a bloody sword in their hand. Their appearance were in doubt that of bandits. The sword was in no doubt dripping the blood of the dead dingo. His heart cried in alarm and he almost forgot to breath, out of fear.

They talked in an unknown language for a while suddenly falling silent. His heart began racing and his body was full of sweat. Imminent fear surged across his body as one of the bandits started approaching his direction. Did they find me or was it a coincidence? Suddenly the approaching bandit vanished out of his sight. Bewildered by this, as I prepared to run I heard a chilling sound behind me

What the fuck? How did the bandit appear behind me when he was clearly in front of me?

As Augustus turned to run in the opposite direction, he found out that the other bandit was already covering it. He was surrounded in an instant. His mind raced with thoughts while his whole body shuddered.

What should I do? Should I make an innocent baby face and ask them for help? That won't work, they already saw me shuddering on being discovered and seeing their muscles I don't have a single chance in fighting them. I can submit to my fate at the moment and think of an escape plan later. What if I don't get that chance?

As his mind raced, a loud thud came across his head and his vision started to blur. The magnificent scene turned black and he deeply wished for this nightmare to end.
