Chapter 30

Ethan's POV 

"Is there something wrong officer?" asked Emma. 

"Yes, we have found out that it is not an ordinary accident, it was a planned one" 

What!?

"Does....does that mean someone has done this purposely and wants to....kill our mother!?" She asked. 

I was too shocked to even speak up. 

"I'm afraid you are correct Ms." 

"But....But why would they want to kill our mother!?" I finally got the courage to speak up. 

"That we don't know yet, perhaps you could help us in finding the culprit"

"But how officer?" She asked. 

"You could tell us whether she had a fight with someone or you suspect anyone who can do this?" 

Mum is such a cool person and she very rarely gets angry and she wouldn't fight someone.

"She would never fight someone, disagree yes but not fight. She just isn't like that. Why would anyone want to harm her?" I asked.

"Yes, what would they gain from that" Emma added. 

I don't understand who could do this! What will they gain from this? Oh my God what did they want from her. 

I didn't realize I was panicking until I felt two arms holding me. I looked up to see Damian who was trying to calm me down. 

It helped a bit, "So you don't suspect anyone?" the officer asked. 

I just shook my head and Emma did the same. I noticed Damian has been quiet the whole time, I looked at him.

It was as if he was thinking something, I was about to ask him what happened but stopped when I saw the doctor coming out of the OT.

I rushed towards him, "what happened doctor, how is she? Please tell me she is okay" 

He sighed.

"The operation went well but she is still under observation. Still nothing can be said, if she doesn't wake up within 24 hours, I'm afraid she might go into coma"

"T- ....This can't be happening....she has to wake up! She'll wake up right?" I started sobbing again. 

"We can't say anything, she might wake up but there's still chances she won't. Let's hope for the best" 

I could hear Emma cry too but I couldn't stop. I can't loose her! 

"I couldn't understand what to do, and how to calm myself down" Damian hugged me and took me away from there. 

I almost protested since I didn't want to leave. He made me sit on the chair and kneeled down in front of me.

"Look at me baby" and I did, he lifted his hand and wiped my tears away. 

"Stay strong baby, nothing with happen to her" "But- but the doctor said-" 

"Ethan, the doctor also said she might wake up, don't think about the worst okay baby. Stay strong" I nodded. 

He then, pulled me close towards him and hugged me tightly. I couldn't explain how much I needed it right now. 

We stayed there for a few minutes with him softly stroking my hair and me quietly listening to his heartbeats making me calm down. 

"Are you okay now Kitten?" He asked and I nodded. 

I smiled slightly, "Thank you" I said, my voice a bit muffled but he heard me. 

He pulled back, making me look into his eyes, "Why baby?" 

"For being here with me, I am so lucky to have you" I said. "I would always be there for you Ethan, always" he said now smiling a bit too. 

Soon we went towards the waiting area, I saw Emma had calmed down too. I wanted to ask how she was now, as I didn't get the chance to. 

She looked up and as if sensing what was going on my mind, she smiled reassuringly. I nodded, responding with a slight smile. 

Damian's POV 

I saw the cops were still here and talking to the doctor. I told Ethan to sit saying I'll be back in a few minutes. He nodded. 

I went towards the cops, they were discussing something but stopped as I came near. 

"Officer, I have a suspicion on someone, who can do this" I said. 

"Yes Mr Garcia, who do you think it is?" He asked. 

"Can we talk somewhere else?" He thought for a moment but then nodded. 

We went towards the outer area, "Yes Mr. Garcia, you may continue" I nodded. 

"I think, the one behind this is Angela."
