Choose one between the world and me

When I saw that text, I was broken completely. What was I thinking? I thought to hurt her father. If I do that, I would hurt her indirectly. I could not hurt Jenn. I packed my things and went to home. Aileen and Jenn were sitting on couch. Some animation movie was going on but they both were sleeping. Aileen was hugging Jenn's neck and rested her head on her chest. Jenn was holding Aileen tightly. No one would think that Aileen was our adopted daughter. I looked at them.

"Sorry Jenn. If it is your dad who kill bunny, I would never leave him. I would never ever leave him. Jenn will understand why I am doing it." I murmured to me slowly. Tears were falling from my eyes. I went near to them and held both of them tightly in my arms. Jenn moved a bit and turned. She opened her eyes slowly and looked at him. "You came too early" She whispered not to wake Aileen up. "You asked me to come soon so" I said and looked at her. She gave Aileen to me and I held her. She turned completely to me and hugged both of us tightly and kissed my arms. "I love you so much" She murmured. "Jenn" I called her softly. "Hmm" She moaned. "if you have to choose one between world and me, whom would you choose?" I asked her. "You" She replied without thinking. "If that world includes your father, would you choose me over him?" I asked her softly. "I already did that Eric. 2 months ago I chose you over him." She whispered. If you want me to prove, I will prove it again" She said. I was so broken. I should not have asked her this. I knew that she would choose me against the world. I looked at her. Tears were falling from my eyes. She was shocked to see that. "What happened to you?" she asked. "Zara called me today" I said. Her expression changed. "Why did she call you?" She asked. "She said Daniel and your dad killed our bunny. And they will kill this kid also. That's what she told me." I cried. She cupped my chin with both her hands, "Do you believe her?" She asked. "No, I don't. But there are a lot of reasons why your dad could do that" I said looking at her eyes. She smiled. "You are right. He has so many reasons why he could do that. But I believe that he would not have done anything to hurt me." She said while smiling at me. "You can investigate. I will not stop you. But believe me, he would not have done it." she said. I didn't respond. "Investigate Daniel as well." She added. I kept Aileen on the couch and turned to Jenn. I hugged her tightly. "I believe you. But let me investigate everything." I said and tightened my grip. She hugged me back and kissed on my neck. "I love you Eric." She whispered. "I love you Jenn" I said. "Zara and Daniel may plot against dad. I want you to investigate thoroughly and take a decision. If it is dad, let me handle this. I will make him understand how it will be to live without a daughter." She said and looked into my eyes. She was crying. She was not able to control her tears. Now I could think clearly. No father could do this to his own daughter. I could not do this to Aileen or Angel, even if they were married a moron like me. I believed Jenn.
