9 Her Drug

Min Yue was even angrier at her provocative tone. He stopped and lowered his head to study her fair face. Her beautiful dark eyes were fierce and he could see the fiery passion she had as she faced him with all her bravado.

His breath became heavy.

His long lashes flickered, and his slender fingers ran through her hair to lightly seize the back of her dainty white neck. As he raised her face up for a better angle, he leaned in to kiss her lips.

At that moment, the sounds surrounding them fell away and disappeared, in their place was the gentle sweetness that was unique only to them. Li Ruyan's eyes watered as her heart hammered against her chest, threatening to escape her ribcage. This familiar hold and warmth that she was so used to feeling made her knees feel weak.

Min Yue used the entirety of his strength to grind at her lips, and his fingers in her hair were stroking them wildly. With an unstoppable strength, his tongue pried open her teeth and reached into her mouth to tangle intimately with her soft pink organ.

This kiss that was supposed to be hot and passionate for them smelled deeply of despair and desperation. Li Ruyan's tears had supplied this atmosphere as her will faltered and her attempts to struggle against him weakened.

Min Yue dominated her mouth, refusing to let her go. His arms encircled her waist and he pressed himself against her with increasing strength like he wished to grind her body into him and be one with her, every fiber of their being joining together like chemical bonds in a chemical reaction.

Li Ruyan closed her eyes, allowing this one moment of reverie where the kiss lasted for quite a while, minutes if she guessed before Min Yue finally decided to let her go. He was breathing deeply as he slowly parted from her lips with difficulty, staring at her tear-stained face.

"Yanyan." He whispered against her, his lips inches away from her lips.

He went to caress her cheek, wiping the tears with his thumb, a complicated expression on his eyes at seeing her vulnerability.

Li Ruyan moved her head away and opened her eyes, glancing at him from the corner of them. His warm breath fell on her cheeks and nose, and the pair of dark eyes that looked at her was heavy with deep-seated love made her feel like a slave that was willing to give up everything and anything for him.

Just one deep kiss from him and the anger she felt had vanished into thin air like bubbles. Her heart melted and ached for him and his touch.

"Yanyan..." Min Yue called out, his voice dripping with pain and desperation as though he wanted to love her fiercely.

"Yanyan..." At the third mention of her name, Li Ruyan's will had shattered and she hooked her arms around his neck, kissing him on her own initiative.

"Yue. Yue." She whispered against his lips while crying. "Do you not love me anymore? Why did you lie to me? What am I to you? Yue.. Yue... I love you so much, please don't leave me. Please..." Li Ruyan's strong façade began to crumble like an old deserted building, breaking down infront of him now that they were no longer exposed to the public's eyes.

Li Ruyan held onto him as tight as she could, tears running down her face as she wished and hoped that he would tell her that he still loved her and that they could still remain together as a couple. She wished desperately that he would stay true to his words and ask for her hand in marriage just so she could erase that nightmarish scene on the restaurant from her life.

Li Ruyan had never felt so hurt before. She had never loved someone as much as Min Yue where she gave up everything and sacrificed everything for him, her time, her love, even her body, and soul.

She couldn't imagine a day without him in her life.

Her lips shook, and her heart was overworking from fear and apprehension. Pleading words tumbled out of her whitened lips as she carelessly threw away her dignity and pride, clinging to him in a desperate manner like he was her drug and elixir of life.

She didn't want to let him go. She didn't want him to go. She wanted him to stay beside her and just be with her like how they used to be.

Min Yue's face became devoid of emotion as he pried her arms away from her neck and removed her from his body. Li Ruyan cried out as he held her in place, gripping her shoulders.

"Li Ruyan, tonight is the last time that I can be your Min Yue." He told her with a clenched jaw, making her already watery eyes water even more. It was as if his words were like an arrow to her chest, wounding her so deep that she wished she had run away and never met him.

"Yue.. what are you saying? Tell me what I did wrong. Why did that woman say that you were engaged to her? Are you really engaged to her?"

Li Ruyan fisted his clothes under her small hands, demanding an answer, looking very desperate.

"Her name is Yang Shiwei. She is my fiancée."

Li Ruyan stood still as she processed his words.

"We got engaged three months ago. The man you met earlier, CEO Yang, will be my father-in-law. I hope that you can come with me tomorrow to apologize to him and Miss Yang. Yanyan, I.."

Li Ruyan pushed him away, looking at him with wide eyes and her hands raised in midair.

"Yanyan.." Min Yue said in a strained tone. "I didn't want to do this, Yanyan... But this much is necessary for our future. I need CEO Yang's help and for that, I have to marry Miss Yang. Yanyan, you are an understanding person. I hope you would also understand my decision. I.."

Li Ruyan backed away from him at an alarming rate. Min Yue saw this and tried to grab her wrist but she avoided his hand and skittered out of his range.

"Yanyan, please, just listen to me..." Min Yue asked her in a pleading tone.
