Seeing the man she loves, caring for another woman infront of her was more painful than a knife to the chest. It was as if she was invisible in his eyes. And when he looked at her that way, like someone who committed a grave sin, Li Ruyan nearly burst into tears.

She did not expect that Min Yue could act so indifferent towards her. It was an eye-opener. She has never seen this side of him and was enlightened.

She took a step backward as she breathed in and out, feeling panic rising in her chest.

"Yue..." Yang Shiwei cried out and she held onto Min Yue's arms then with an aggrieved expression, she looked at Li Ruyan.

Min Yue stood straight as he gazed indifferently at her but there was a hint of hostility in the way he appraised her presence. There was also what looked to be a complicated expression on his face but this was overlooked by the fact that he was siding with his 'fiancee' instead of her.

"Li Ruyan, it's you again."

Again. That word made Li Ruyan's brows twitch slightly.

It was as if he was referring to her as a mere passerby and the way he said it made it sound as if she was pestering him.

"CEO Min." Li Ruyan replied.

Min Yue placed an arm around Yang Shiwei, making the woman in red smile secretly as she threw Li Ruyan a taunting glance. That action caused Li Ruyan's already painful heart to feel even more pain.

"Li Ruyan, can you tell me why my fiancée is crying?" Min Yue spoke in a low and discerning tone.

"..."

Did he really just ask her that question? What a joke.

Li Ruyan chuckled. "CEO Min, there are so many people around us and yet you took the liberty to ask me, a mere acquaintance. I feel honored."

"I asked you a question."

Li Ruyan pursed her lips.

"No. I don't know why Miss Yang suddenly burst out crying."

"Yue..." Yang Shiwei called out with a watery gaze.

"Li Ruyan, don't lie." Min Yue said in a cold voice, his dark eyes sweeping over her.

There were dozens of guests inside and a portion of them had crowded around them, seemingly watching the drama unfold. The newcomers were quick to make their own conclusions.

Seeing that Min Yue was looking at Li Ruyan as if she did something inexcusable coupled with the scene of Yang Shiwei crying, they thought that it was Li Ruyan who was making trouble.

Li Ruyan crossed her arms.

"I did not lie. In which eyes did you see me do anything to her? Did I slap her? Tripped her? We were merely talking."

Instead of interrogating her, Min Yue said something else.

"Apologize."

"Li Ruyan, apologize to Shiwei."

Li Ruyan was quiet at first since she could not believe that he was asking her to apologize to that woman when she clearly did not do anything wrong.
