6 Maserati

Chen Chuan turned to Wang Lixin and said, "Go ahead to the restaurant. I have something I have to do. I'll be right up." 

"Alright," Wang Lixin said, nodding her head. 

Chen Chuan took the elevator and went to the first floor. 

Even though he had 1,170,000 Yuan in his account and the permanent effect of [Double Expenditure Cash Return], it was still his first time getting so close with such an expensive car. As his hands touched the warm body of said car and his eyes took in the sight of the snow-white headlights, he felt a surge of excitement. 

"Sir, do you need help with anything here?" a salesperson dressed in uniform came over and addressed him.

The salesperson started to introduce the car, saying, "On the left is the Quattroporte series, a new 2017 model. On the right is the Ghibli series." 

"What are their prices?" Chen Chuan asked. 

"The Quattroporte model is a 3.0T, with a double turbo system, and a 350 horsepower setting. A baseline car would cost 1,370,000 while the on-the-road price would be at least 1,600,000 to 1,700,000. Take this model car, it has been installed with a few more options, and its on-the-road price would be 1,670,00 Yuan." 

Chen Chuan looked at the metallic grey Maserati Quattroporte series and decided to buy it. 

"This one. I want it."

"Very well! Sir, you are selecting this model car, yes?" 

"Yes. Do I pay in credit or in cash?" 

"Both are acceptable, sir. We do offer instalment payment, and it is extremely convenient to apply. But if you wish to pay in full, we will gladly accept it," said the salesperson happily. 

Chen Chuan did not want to pay by instalments and chose to pay in full. 

He swiped his card once and first paid 1,170,000 Yuan.

The car salesperson would complete the authorization of the number plate and Chen Chuan would be able to pick up the car in three days' time. 

A few beautiful models simply had to look at Chen Chuan. On the one hand, he did buy the car that was promoted on the set without hesitation, while on the other hand, he did look handsome and had an alluring body shape. He might even actually last long when it mattered the most. If they were not too shy, they would have already requested for the handsome man's WeChat ID. 

Chen Chuan opened the car door and sat into the car to test it out. To be fair, this Quattroporte model that was surrounded by models was already his. 

This car was the first car he had simply bought. In the future, if he had the chance, he would definitely get his hands on various of cars such as Porsche 918, LaFerrari, Mclaren P1, Pagani Zonda, Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR PRO, Bugatti Veyron, Hennessey Venom, Shelby Supercar, and the Aston Martin ONE-77. 

After he was satisfied sitting in the car, Chen Chuan quickly left the Maserati car show when he remembered that the gathering was about to start soon. 

Chen Chuan took the elevator to the fifth floor and entered the restaurant to join the gathering. 

At the southeast corner of the restaurant, there were two large tables pushed together and were seated by about ten people. 

"Chen Chuan, you're here! Where have you been?" 

Wang Lixin, who came in much earlier than he, called out to him to greet him. 

Even though he really wanted to boast about himself in a non-tactful way by saying, "I went and bought myself a Maserati car." However, after considering it, he decided to contain himself and keep it a secret.

Two tables were pushed together at the southeast corner and there were about ten of people sitting around it. 

Chen Chuan took out his phone and checked the time. It was then 2017, 17th of August. Half a month before university classes started. 

Chen Chuan remembered something about the gathering from the novel. It was concerning the drama regarding this gathering arc. Most importantly, it was about Du Hao. He had obtained two tools from the Almighty Golden Touch System during the gathering.

As everyone gathered, the class representative officially started the gathering event.

After three rounds of beer, Chen Chuan made an assumption that Du Hao had obtained the [Sober Pill]. He went over to his side, patted his shoulder, and voila…

A normal, single-use [Sober Pill] had been upgraded to become [Neo Sober Pill], which granted a permanent effect. That was nice. 

In all future drinking sessions, he could fully enjoy the taste of alcohol, and since the alcohol inside his body would be metabolized quickly, he did not need to fear the police stopping him when he drove. Not bad.

When no one was looking, he withdrew the [Neo Sober Pill] and swallowed it. 

The pill was about the shape of a yellow bean. It had a clear herbal scent with it. He had drunk two glasses of beer earlier and because of the pill, the buzz was immediately gone. 

"Effect [Neo Sober Pill] has been activated. You have obtained the permanent effect to process alcohol at super speed." 

The message flashed into his mind.

With confidence, Chen Chuan drank beer as if it were mere water. The effect was truly amazing as he could, by his own will, control the speed of how his body metabolized the alcohol. If he wanted to enjoy the buzz after drinking alcohol, he could adjust himself to metabolize the alcohol slower. 

If someone came to challenge him in drinking, he could metabolize the alcohol quicker so that no matter how high the alcohol content was in the liquor that went into him, the [Neo Sober Pill] would swiftly metabolize it into water and carbon dioxide.

When it was the ending half of the event, Du Hao went to the toilet and vomited three times. He finally crashed with a pale face. 

Chen Chuan knew that Du Hao's [Sober Pill] effect had been weakened by [Copy], greatly reducing the effect which was supposed to grant Du Hao the ability to hold his alcohol. 

As the only man left in the entire place to stand, Chen Chuan remained calm and cool. Through the glass window of the restaurant, he looked down at the city below. 

There was a famous Jungler player in the game, League of Legends, and he said, "Red buff, blue buff, Hand of Baron buff, Dragonslayer buff… and the Champion buff… I want them all."

Sounds of laughter and chatter filled his ears. He could see it. Those who attended the gathering had their makeup done intricately. They wore refreshing summer outfits, the kind that exposed their long, fair legs. Each of them had the potential to be internet celebrities. 

As the only men left standing sober, all the beautiful girls came flocking around him to talk with him.

A few of the girls had some drinks in them and were mostly tipsy. They started to crack really dirty jokes, and the entire dinner place was flooded with laughter. 

The person annoyed was the girl that Chen Chuan broke up with, Zhou Qi. She was sitting among the girls, and when she saw how they were cracking jokes that were a little too much, she felt unhappy. Moreover, she stealthily eyed Chen Chuan. She noted that he had indeed grown more handsome. In fact, she noticed the watch on his wrist. Whether it was genuine or a counterfeit, it was truly, elegantly, beautiful.
