13 Chapter 13: Returner Stone

"Captain, we are ready," Eryx said. After some rest, everyone had recovered their strength.

"Alright, let's continue."

They traversed the forest carefully, making detours whenever they spotted a pack of wolves.

Thirty minutes had passed.

In the past thirty minutes, they had killed numerous wolves, and two of their members had broken through to higher levels. They now had one second-layer and five first-layer body tempering individuals.

Even if they were to encounter a pack of wolves, they wouldn't be as helpless as when they first entered the dungeon. Most of the packs they had encountered so far consisted of five to nine wolves. As long as they didn't provoke a pack of wolves first, they should be fine.

"Captain, what do you think of these stones?" Nox asked, examining the two mysterious stones in his hand. They were dark blue in color, with unfamiliar patterns.

They had obtained these stones from the wolves they had killed earlier. When the bodies of the three wolves disappeared, the stones emerged.

"Let me see."

Nox tossed one of the stones to Arnoux. They were currently recuperating, with nothing else to do, so inspecting the stone seemed like a good use of their time.

The stone was quite small, about the size of a roadside pebble.

"Nox, have you tried using your spiritual power on it?" Arnoux asked.

"Ohh, I haven't," Nox replied, feeling a little embarrassed.

It was common knowledge to identify an item using spiritual power. However, since they hadn't come across any items that required identification with spiritual power, Nox had almost forgotten about it. They hadn't even seen any ungraded items thus far.

In this world, items were graded from one-star to eight-star magic items. Each star corresponded to a realm in this world.

"It's okay, I will try it."

Arnoux utilized his spiritual power, allowing a thin stream of energy to penetrate the stone. Arnoux's spiritual power was so faint that it was almost imperceptible. That's why people in body tempering didn't usually rely on their spiritual power for identification, as it often yielded no results.

In the next moment, Arnoux received a surge of information in his brain, causing him to stand up in surprise. Everyone was taken aback by Arnoux's abrupt movement, instantly becoming alert and grasping their weapons.

They thought their captain had detected nearby wolves. Seeing their companion's actions, Arnoux spoke.

"You guys need to relax. I didn't detect any enemies nearby. I was just surprised by the information I obtained from identifying the stone," he explained.

He felt a little embarrassed. This was his first experience identifying an item, so it caught him off guard.

"Really, Captain? What is it?!" Nox asked excitedly. Everyone stopped what they were doing and focused their attention on Arnoux.

"From the information I received, it's called a returner stone. It's an item that can teleport you out of the dungeon. However, each stone can only teleport six people."

Everyone was astonished. Since entering the dungeon, they had encountered numerous unexplainable phenomena. After all, they were just simple villagers whose daily concerns revolved around bandits and monster attacks on their village.
