2 Job Hunt

The next day

Katherine woke up early in the morning and as usual she checked her emails and saw that she has received a couple of feedbacks from her job online applications, she went through her emails and scheduled interviews for different jobs hoping that she could at least pass one of the interviews and land a job.

After she was done checking her emails she washed up and went downstairs to have have breakfast and as usual it wasn't a peaceful one, her family were throwing shade at her for being fat and jobless but she learned to develop a thick skin so she quickly finished her breakfast and went out of the house to the shopping mall to buy a couple of new outfits for her job interviews, she wanted to look good and presentable because she really need a job so she's not taking any chances here.

It was already a little past lunch time when Katherine came back home, she went straight to the kitchen and quickly cooked egg fried rice and some salads, after she was done eating she went back to her room and locked herself in, she took out her laptop and began researching and preparing herself for her first interview tomorrow.

Katherine was busy researching and studying she didn't even realize that it was already past 10:30 in the evening, it was only when her stomach made a loud growl that sounded like a whales mating call that she realized how late it was, she closed her computer and went downstairs to meet dead silence.

Her mom and her elder brother that was still living in the house have gone to sleep, she made her way to the kitchen and cooked ramen noodles and sat on the dining table and ate her food while she was checking or rather surfing the internet, after she was done eating she went back to her room, showered and then called it a night.

The next day Tuesday morning was quiet busy for Katherine, she didn't even have her breakfast she just woke up early got ready and then head out to her first interview for the day, she was very excited but unfortunately her first interview didn't go well as it was an electronic device company and well even though she studied hard it still wasn't good enough for her to get the as the company had a very high expectations.

She felt sad but she didn't allow it to get to her, she knew she had another job interview by 2pm so as she came out of the company she took a bus to the place where she has the interview because it was quite far from there.

After another failed interview Katherine was very tired and upset, she went back home in a very bad mood because of her failure, but she was determined to get a job no matter what so she promised herself to work hard and stay strong.

As soon as she entered the living room she saw her sister and her kids had come over for a visit, seeing her little niece and nephew her face instantly lit up, she sauntered towards them and gave them a hug and kiss on their cheeks, she greeted her sister and carried her twin little niece and nephew in her arms as they giggled and embraced her back.

Nick who is the elder brother among the twins lovingly looked at his aunt and said "aunt Kath where were you? We have been here for a while and you didn't come, I was looking forward to eating my favorite chocolate cake baked by you but look it's already late and dad will soon be here to pick us up. " nick said sadly and and pouted like the spoilt little brat that he was.

Nikita on the other hand was just so happy to see her beloved aunt that always plays with her when they came over she forgot all her complaints. Katherine just laughed and said" don't worry my loves, next time I will bake the most delicious chocolate cake for you, forgive your aunt this time okay?"

After giving it a thought the twins decided to forgive their lovely aunt, she spun them around and played with them before going to the kitchen to get something to eat because she didn't get to eat lunch and she was damn hungry. When she entered the kitchen and was about to cook something quick and delicious when her mom and sister entered and interrupted her.

Her sister Remy asked her "where were you? Mom said she didn't know where you went to," her mother joined in and said, "that's right she's so disrespectful towards me now she doesn't even bother to inform me of her whereabouts"

Katherine sighed and said "mom I tried to speak to you in the morning before I went out but you were busy on the phone and I was getting late so I left, I went to a job interview.." "You got a job???" Her sister immediately asked with Jealousy in her tone and her mother was looking at her waiting for her to answer so she told them she failed the job interview and as usual her mother lashed out on her calling her useless and other names, her sister Remy on the other hand smirked at her mockingly and left the kitchen with their mom behind her.

Katherine is more determined than ever to get a job so that she could leave this house and get away from her toxic family, so she made a quick dinner for herself and everyone else after they finished eating her sister and the kids left with their dad and her mother ignored her and went to her room so she also put the dishes away for the maid that comes to clean the house in the morning and then went to her room, even though she was tired she didn't go to sleep instead she got her laptop and started researching and studying again for her job interviews the next day.
