Kaido's enormous body twisted in the air as he barely avoided the flying basin. He moved quickly, but the moment the pot passed him, he seized the opportunity, opening his mouth and unleashing a torrent of dragon's breath aimed at it.
But Finn was faster.
In an instant, he appeared at Kaido's side. "Trying to destroy my basin? Not a chance!" he shouted, raising his sword. Yan Mo, now infused with Armament Haki, glowed with an ominous black hue as it sliced through the air toward Kaido.
Kaido's eyes narrowed. Can he really control Yan Mo's power?
Kaido's instincts screamed at him to avoid the blow. He abandoned the attack on the basin, focusing his defense. With a swift motion, he intercepted Finn's sword with his dragon claws.
Clang!
Yan Mo and Kaido's claws clashed, sparks flying from the impact. The raw strength behind Kaido's claws was overwhelming, but Finn didn't relent. He used his momentum, executed advanced Shave, and repositioned himself by the flying basin, catching it mid-air.
"Eight Inner Gates, open! Seventh Gate, here we go!" Finn roared, his body surging with energy. The sheer speed he gained left Kaido trailing behind.
"You ready for another round, Kaido?" Finn taunted as he hurled the basin toward him again, this time moving even faster.
Kaido's eyes widened. The basin was now flying at a speed far beyond what it had before. He strained his body, twisting with all his might, just barely dodging the pot. It grazed his dragon scales, leaving a thin line of smoke in its wake.
Finn sighed in relief. That was close. If it hit Kaido, the pot would've shattered.
He grinned. Next time, I'll have to be more careful with my throws.
With the basin out of harm's way, Finn shot forward again, faster than ever thanks to the Seventh Gate. Kaido, still recovering from dodging the pot, had no time to counter.
"You're mine, Kaido!" Finn shouted as Yan Mo crackled with power. With both hands on the sword, he swung, aiming for Kaido's exposed flank.
The blade connected. A bottomless hunger stirred within Yan Mo, draining Finn's Armament Haki at an alarming rate. But the reward was immediate.
Slice!
Blood sprayed as Yan Mo pierced Kaido's dragon body.
"It's really happening! Kaido has been wounded!" the Marines gasped in disbelief.
"Master Finn is incredible! To wield Yan Mo like that—it's unheard of!"
Even though Yan Mo was known to be a cursed blade, Finn managed to master it, slicing through Kaido's legendary toughness. Blood poured from Kaido's wound, flowing freely.
Without hesitation, Finn grabbed another basin from thin air, placing it under the blood gushing from Kaido's body. The basin quickly filled to half with dragon blood.
Finn grinned. "Looks like I'm halfway there."
But just as quickly as the wound had opened, Kaido's body began to heal. His flesh knitted itself back together, sealing off the flow of blood.
"Ding! A drop of Kaido's blood has been collected. Reward: Early stage Observation Haki + 100x mission card!" the system chimed in Finn's head.
"Ding! Collect a full bowl of Kaido's blood for the reward: Mid-stage Observation Haki + 200x mission card!"
Finn scowled. "Not yet," he muttered, ignoring the system's prompt.
Just then, a loud crash echoed behind him. The first basin, which Finn had flung at Kaido earlier, had hit the ground and shattered into pieces.
"That treasure!" someone yelled.
"This...this treasure is broken?" others whispered in confusion.
"Wait, look at the basin in Finn's hand. Isn't it identical to the one that broke?"
"It looks like they were...wholesaled together?"
Realization dawned on everyone. The basin Finn had been throwing wasn't a treasure at all.
"It's just...a regular pot?" one Marine murmured, dumbfounded.
"What the hell? We've been hyping up a regular pot this whole time?" another groaned.
Kaido, red-faced and seething with rage, bellowed, "You little punk! You've been toying with me this entire time!"
Finn shrugged nonchalantly, "Hey, I never said it was a treasure. That was all you guys."
Kaido's fury reached a boiling point. His dragon body convulsed, his muscles bulging as his claws lashed out with renewed ferocity. He unleashed a torrent of attacks, forming an impenetrable net of dragon claws.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Sparks flew as Finn's sword clashed against Kaido's defense, unable to land another blow.
"Seems like I've been underestimating you, Kaido," Finn mused. "Time to get serious."
Everyone watching was floored. Get serious?
Kaido's attacks intensified. His claws moved faster, the ground beneath them shook from the sheer force of their clashes.
"Boy! If you want blood, I'll give it to you!" Kaido roared, swiping at Finn with all his might.
Finn gripped Yan Mo with both hands, the blade glinting dangerously. He steadied his breath, his stance growing more deliberate.
"Sword Art Secret Technique: Yanhui!" Finn shouted.
In a blur, Finn disappeared, reappearing in three simultaneous positions around Kaido. Time and space seemed to warp around him, three overlapping slashes all converging on Kaido at once.
"What is this technique?" Kaido's eyes widened, panic setting in.
Slash!
A massive wound ripped across Kaido's dragon body, far deeper and larger than before. Blood gushed from the injury, spilling onto the battlefield.
"Ding! A significant amount of Kaido's blood collected. Reward: Late-stage Observation Haki + 300x mission card!"
Finn grinned. "Finally. Now that's enough blood."
