Wang Hao descended the mountain and rode the electric scooter back to the neighborhood near the school.
He found a convenience store and stuffed his backpack with more food and drinks.
"Their food supply probably won't last too long, and they'll have to come down the mountain either tomorrow or the day after. When that happens, I'll probably have a chance," thought Wang Hao to himself as he looked at the food in front of him.
He decided that he would head for the bungalow area on top of the mountain first thing the next morning.
Once he had decided, Wang Hao rode the electric scooter toward the gym.
"It's so late, and the lights are still on?"
When Wang Hao arrived at the entrance of the gym, he noticed that the second floor of the gym still had the lights on.
He was feeling really puzzled now and didn't know what on earth that woman could be doing.
But even though he was really puzzled, Wang Hao didn't intend to go up and take a look.
Regardless of what the woman was doing right now, it had nothing to do with him anymore.
Countless zombies were still wandering aimlessly about on the streets.
The entrance to the gym was wide open, so some zombies had also wandered in.
Wang Hao pushed these zombies aside and entered. He went to the storeroom and got himself a large package of protein powder.
"This package will probably last me for quite some time."
Wang Hao placed the package of protein powder on his scooter and was preparing to return to the dormitory.
But just then, he suddenly heard the sound of a woman panting heavily coming from upstairs.
Wang Hao instantly started frowning.
Since he had already killed the two men inside the gym and a woman was still making that sort of noise, it meant that there was some new man up there.
Wang Hao was very wary of having any unknown men in this neighborhood.
After all, the Apocalypse had triggered the primitive natures of men. For the sake of women and food, they were willing to kill and plunder and wouldn't think much of it.
Wang Hao didn't want to wait for trouble to come knocking on his door and decided to make an attack first.
Wang Hao retrieved one Zombie Bomb and flung it out.
There was a small explosion as a zombie appeared in front of Wang Hao and started wandering about aimlessly.
Wang Hao found a safe place to hide himself and started controlling this zombie.
The scene in front of him immediately changed as Wang Hao's consciousness entered the zombie's body.
He immediately walked toward the second floor of the gym. He couldn't control this zombie for too long, so he had no time to waste.
He listened to the sound of the woman and followed the stairs to reach the second floor after hopping over some obstacles.
The door to the second floor was shut, and he couldn't see what was happening inside.
Wang Hao reached out and tried to push the door open, but it was closed fast and couldn't be pushed open easily.
Since there was a limit to how long he could control this zombie, Wang Hao didn't want to waste any time.
He took a step back and used his shoulder to slam against the door.
The door started shaking violently from the impact and looked like it was about to collapse.
The sounds of the woman inside the room suddenly came to a stop when this happened.
Wang Hao ignored these changes in the situation inside the room. He took another step back and crashed into the door again.
The door shook violently again, and it looked like it was shaking even harder now.
Wang Hao's confidence increased, and he continued crashing into the door again and again.
There was a terrible blast as Wang Hao finally managed to slam his way through the door.
He had used too much force at one time, so Wang Hao lost his balance and fell to the floor when the door gave way.
But the moment he fell to the floor, Wang Hao saw that besides two women, there wasn't anybody else in the entire room.
"It's a zombie!"
The two women in the room screamed in terror and quickly moved away from Wang Hao.
Wang Hao got to his feet and looked at the two women in front of him as he felt dazed.
He had seen one of the women before. She was the woman who had been treated as a toy by the two men he'd killed the last time.
Wang Hao had never seen the other woman. He wasn't sure if this second woman had just arrived at the gym, or if she had already been hiding here the last time.
She was wearing a black suit and gold-rimmed spectacles, and her gaze seemed rather authoritative.
"This woman is probably a teacher. How strange! Why haven't I ever seen her before?"
Wang Hao looked at the woman in front of him and felt very puzzled.
"It's a zombie! How did this zombie get in?"
"It must be because the sounds you were making earlier were too loud, and you've attracted the attention of the zombies," said the woman in the black suit.
"Oh, no…it's all my fault…but I couldn't control myself. Those men used to torture me every day, and, without their torturing, I find it hard to get used to it…" said the other woman.
"What's the use of saying all this now? A zombie has come barging in, so hurry up and think of a way to kill it," said the woman in black with a trembling voice.
"Are you kidding? How can I possibly kill a zombie?"
"Didn't you say that you'd killed a zombie before?" asked the woman in black.
"I…I lied to you. After that zombie came in and killed those two men, it strangely died all by itself. I didn't kill it," said the woman.
"What? Then what are we going to do? Do we just wait here to die?" asked the woman in black. She was still young and had a bright future ahead of her. She didn't want to die.
Wang Hao looked at the terrified expressions on the faces of the two women in front of him and felt deeply frustrated.
He didn't know if he should just kill them both or turn and leave.
If he turned and left, then these two women would definitely become suspicious. They might start to wonder if a human was controlling these zombies.
Wang Hao didn't know what to do. He hadn't intended to run into such a sticky situation either.
But, at the same time, he didn't want to kill these two women either.
"How strange…why doesn't this zombie try to bite us?"
The two women started getting suspicious.
"Forget it. I'll leave everything to fate."
Wang Hao canceled his control of the zombie. When he opened his eyes again, he was back on the first floor
If those two women could kill that zombie, then it meant that they weren't destined to die yet.
A few seconds later, a terrible scream came from upstairs.
Wang Hao shut his eyes, took a deep breath, and started walking out of the gym.
But just as he was about to step out of the gym, he stopped himself.
"Am I being too inhumane by doing this?"
Wang Hao suddenly started to question his actions. He felt like he had become just like those bastards who didn't care about human lives.
Even though Wang Hao didn't think he was a good person, he didn't think he was a bad guy either.
But now, was there any difference in the way he was behaving and the way those bad guys had behaved?
"I can't go on like this. If I do that, I'll lose my humanity. That's not what I want…"
Wang Hao suddenly spun around and went back upstairs.
When he reached the doorway of the second floor, he saw that the zombie had struck one woman down, and the floor was covered with blood and entrails.
The woman in black had collapsed limply on the floor. She looked at the zombie with eyes filled with terror, and her expression was pale, as if she was just waiting for death to befall her.
"My actions have made me more like a demon, haven't they?"
Wang Hao looked at the pitiful woman sitting waiting for death and sighed. He pulled out the katana, held it tightly, and ran across the room quickly.
