3 This Is Just Like A Game (2)

I started getting creeped out. Where did that answer come from? Just what the hell is happening? How do I get out of here?!

Tons of question started running around my head. I just couldn't grasp the situation I am in. Nevertheless, I was kinda hungry and I was cold. I need to get out of this cave quickly.

I started walking. Since the cave had only one way, I followed it. After a few minutes of walking to what seems like a cave with no end, I received another message.

[ Warning. 'Cave Rats Lv. 1' are detected. Find yourself some weapon and prepare for battle.]

"Just where the hell are you?!", I yelled. "What do you mean prepare for battle?! Explain so that I can understand!"

I didn't get any response back. Not that I was expecting it to answer me. Anyways, it said something about 'cave rats' being detected. Even if it's true, what could rats do to me? Well, if they come in great numbers, that might be a problem.

With that in mind, I looked around and saw a sword laying on the ground. I picked it up then suddenly, letters started to form besides it.

I was kinda stunned for a second then I thought, 'Iv'e experienced more weirder things today. Cats talking, portals, and hearing voices. Nothing is going to surprise me anymore.'

The letters were done formulating and I started reading it. It seems like this was the information of the sword I just picked up.

[ Item Name: Old Rusty Short Iron Sword ]

[ Classification: Sword ]

[ Class: F— ]

[ Description: An ordinary iron sword that was dropped by its owner and rusted after a long time of not being used or polished. ]

Eh? By the way the info was displayed, it seemed like this situation I'm in was an RPG game or some sort of game.

If I am in a game, does that mean that I have a status like a character? And if I do, how could I see it?

After asking that question in my mind, the familiar voice answered again.

[ Note. Do you want to see your status? ]

I sighed. Do I really have a choice? "Yes."

After I answered, bunch of letters started to form in front of me.

[ Name: Hunter Eiden]

[ Level: 1 ]

[ Age: 13 ]

[ HP: 150 ]

[ MP: 100 ]

[ Stamina: 80 ]

[ Strength: 10 ]

[ Agility: 12 ]

[ Intelligence: 15 ]

[ Magic: 0 ]

*[ Sense: 5 ]

*[ Skills: None ]

*[ Special Attribute: System Lv. 1 ]

[ Equipment: Old Rusty Short Iron Sword ]

What the hell? This is really like a game! Wait wait wait... Am I in one of my RPG games? But I never had a game like this before.

Looking at my skills, I didn't have any. Shouldn't I have a starting skill or something like that? This game sucks. That made me realize. "Oh right. This isn't a game."

I continued reading and saw that I had a special attribute. It was called 'system'. I didn't know what system was or how to use it so I ignored it. By the way, I had greater things to worry about. I will be battling against 'cave rats'.

I continued walking then I heard the voice again.

[ Note. Prepare for combat. 'Cave Rats Lv. 1 are approaching. ]

With the message, the ground slowly started to shake as if a magnitude two earthquake was happening. I flashed the flashlight to my front and there I saw what I was about to fight.

In front of Hunter were huge rats that were twice bigger than him. They had red eyes and long sharp claws and they were totally not what he was expecting. There were six of them.

But even so, Hunter was calm. He still wore that poker face he always wore and didn't show even the slightest of fear. He took a fighting stance and prepared himself.

One of the rats jumped at him. The rat was not that fast so he reacted perfectly. He jumped aside and when the rat rolled on the ground, without wasting a single moment, he slashed it with the sword.

[ Note. You have killed a 'Cave Rat Lv. 1'. You have gained some experience in fighting. ]

Hunter thought, "Gained experience in fighting? Isn't it usually things like ' you have gained 5 experience points' or '5 experience points have been gained or something like that?"

Hunter turned around, facing the rest of the rats and muttered to himself, "Then again, this is not a game. This is all real."

The remaining rats attacked him one by one he didn't even have enough time to land an attack. And more, he was getting tired. The rats suddenly attacked him in unison. He couldn't dodge them all.

His right arm which was holding the weapon got slashed. He dropped the sword he was using. He could feel the pain of the wound inflicted on him.

[ Warning. You have received some damage. 12 points have been deducted to your HP. Remaining HP: 138 ]

The rats gathered around him preparing to attack. 'Am I going to die?', he thought. "No! I will not let my life end! Not in a place like this. I survived living alone without any parents or anyone to take care of me since I was seven so I'm not gonna end it like this!"

After shouting this, the rats jumped to kill him but then, everything suddenly froze. Then, he heard that voice again.

[ Note. The 'System' has noticed your strong will to live. The 'System' is granting you a skill. ]

[ You have successfully learned the skill 'Holy Eyes'. ]

[ You can now use the skill 'Holy Eyes Lv. 1. Would you like to use it?]
