Future Sight

"A-andrey" Seeing Lisa recover from her previous unresponsive state a feeling of relief swept through Andrey's body as he replied to her.

"Yes, it's me. What happened? Are you alright?" Andrey asked. From his conjecture, the reason for her sudden collapse was related to her powers which had been activated.

Even though Andrey had asked her a question it seemed as if her mind was somewhere else. Just when Andrey was about to call her name again Lisa's following words entered his ears, "Are you really leaving the school?"

Lisa looked towards Andrey with an inquiring gaze making Andrey lose for words.

'How did she know?' Andrey thought to himself as a series of questions swept through his mind and he couldn't help but ask her, "How did you know?"

"I saw it…just now. That you would be leaving the school…joining the Warrior Academy before us…joining a group of special students," Lisa said as her eyes appeared as though she was trying hard recollect what she had seen.

"You saw what?? You can see the future?" Andrey asked. He was able to come to some valid conclusions in his mind because he too was a possessor of a skill and clearly remembered Lisa saying 'Future sight' before this incident took place.

"…Yes…I know it's hard to believe but I indeed can. I'm not lying really!" Lisa tried to make herself sound believable to Andrey because even she herself was finding it quite hard to believe what had happened just now.

"I know you're not," Andrey placed his hands on her shoulders and tried to calm her down.

"You do?... Why?" Lisa asked as she herself was finding it hard to believe herself even though she had seen those images herself.

"I do because I too have a skill," Andrey said.

"Skill?" Lisa inquired.

"Remember the 'dormant skill' you were talking about before this incident happened. I too have a skill but it's different than yours," Andrey explained.

"You too?" Lisa's eyes widened as she found the whole thing very confusing.

"Indeed. My skill allows me to go ten seconds back to the past, while in your case I believe it allows you to look into the future." Andrey states his thoughts.

"What is this skill? And why do I suddenly have it?" Lisa asks.

"Before we dwell further on this issue let me help you get back on the bed," Andrey said as he supported Lisa back onto the bed.

"Do you feel any pain in your knees?" Andrey asked as she had fallen on them with quite an impact earlier.

"N-no, it's alright," Lisa said. Due to the sudden degree of closeness between them, Lisa couldn't help but stiffen up a little.

"That's good," Andrey said and continued, "About why do you suddenly possess this skill…I have no idea. Even I don't know why I have mine,"

A few seconds of silence ensued between the two as they were lost in their own thoughts.

"When did you activate your skill?" Lisa inquired.

"During the first day of our school after the summer vacations," Andrey said.

"Is that so? Can you tell me more about it?" Lisa asked as she wanted to know more about the events that took place with Andrey.

"Alright," Andrey thought over it for a second and began narrating his story, "I was running away from…."

"You almost died in there!" Lisa who was listening to Andrey's narration with great attention all this while exclaimed when she heard about how he managed to save himself.

"Yes, I almost did…" Andrey said as he was reminded of how horrible it felt being submerged in that sewage water.

"So, your skill was activated because of such a strong stimulus…but what about me? Why was my skill suddenly activated?" Lisa inquired.

"I have no idea, If I find something more about this later on, I'll contact you. From how things are it seems like we are not the only one with these types of skills." Andrey said while pondering.

"Even though there are more the numbers would still be less otherwise we would have heard about such things, moreover the instructors from the Academy who came to check our aptitudes would also be inquiring us about these abilities." Lisa gave out her thoughts.

"That indeed makes sense…it's most likely that the skill-users have decided to keep their abilities a secret just like me…" Andrey turns towards Lisa and continues, "Lisa your ability is truly special so even if you meet a skill user like me in the future, it's better not to reveal it to them unless and until it's absolutely necessary…people are likely to exploit you if they become aware of your skill,"

"I understand, it's not as powerful a skill if you take into account the cooldown period," Lisa says.

"Cooldown period? How long is it?" Andrey asked. He remembered how he needed to check the cooldown period of his own skill with the help of his phone so he was a bit curious about how Lisa was able to check the cooldown period of her own skill without any testing.

"It shows 24hrs…so I can only use it once a day," Lisa says as the direction of her gaze moves upwards.

Andrey tries to follow her gaze only to see nothing. "I see nothing," He comments.

"Maybe, because only I'm able to see it. Whenever I think of watching the future like before, this cooldown period blinks right in front of my eyes and disappears after a couple of seconds," Lisa explained.

"That's convenient…by the way, what else did you see would be happening in the future?" Andrey asked.

"Well…maybe because I was looking at you when the skill got activated that all the things I saw were related to you. I saw you bid me goodbye and leave for the Academy, you were with Instructor Zack and were exploring the main city with him, You guys took a specific pathway to the Warrior Academy and in the evening, you were going with Instructor Zack to meet somebody…that's where my skilled stopped working." Lisa comments after pondering for a while.

"I would be leaving in about two weeks, so you're able see more than 2 weeks into the future…that's very impressive…" Andrey couldn't help but admire Lisa's ability. Even though it had a cooldown period of 24 hours it was still a very useful ability.

"Though I don't find the headache that comes with it very impressive…" Lisa said with a depreciating chuckle.

"Suffering from success, aren't you?" Andrey remarked.

"Hehe~" Lisa chuckled seeing Andrey's expression

"Alright, another reason why I came here was to inform you that I won't be attending school from tomorrow onwards but since you're already aware of it…and much more…I'll be taking a leave," Andrey said.

"Thank you for visiting me Andrey, I'm really glad you did," Lisa thanked Andrey once again and was about to see him to the door but Andrey refused her help and advised her to keep resting.

"I'll be coming in tomorrow evening as well to check on your health so you better not over-exert yourself," Andrey warned Lisa to take her health seriously as he left her house while making sure to close the front door.

Within half an hour Andrey was back to his house and to release his fatigue he took a refreshing shower which also alleviated his mood back to his peak state.

Since yesterday the thoughts about leaving his friends had been going around in his mind. Now that he had informed them about this issue Andrey felt that a huge pressure had been released from his head.

With this pressure released, he knew that he would be able to focus on his core formation much more efficiently, and that's what he did. He took out a low-grade stone from the briefcase and began the solidification procedure.

Just like how he did it yesterday, Andrey brought the red stone adjacent to his chest and closed his eyes. Before long he was able to feel the energy from the red stone travelling from his unsolidified core (A/N: you can imagine it as a circular ball which is made up of gas) to the rest of his body via the new pathways that had been forged.

Only after completing a circulation was the red energy was able to settle itself in the core and thereby helping in the solidification process.

The absorption process didn't become any easier just because Andrey was more familiar with the process compared to yesterday but the familiarity indeed helped him in increasing his absorbing capacity. As a result, Andrey sat there on his sofa for an hour compared to yesterday's 30-minute duration.

Initially, Andrey thought that he would only be able to persevere for 40 minutes at most but at the 35-minute mark, a slight change started taking place in Andrey's body as he felt the inner part of his core solidify a bit and this exponentially raised his ability to absorb the red energy.

Andrey was finally able to completely absorb a low-grade stone within that hour of practising and the moment he opened his eyes he saw the stone which had lost its lustre slowly disintegrate into pieces.
