13 Fu

"W-What is it? W-Where is it coming from?" asked Rhys in his mind. He did not feel afraid, because the throb was not out of fear but excitement. He looked around the shop, then his eyes stayed on a rusty shard.

"Have you not seen a smith workshop before? You look too curious," said Hansel with a smile.

"Y-Yeah."

Hansel chuckled. "Come here."

There was a small silver pillar with a magic circle and runes on its top.

"Watch and listen carefully," said Hansel as he stretched his hand to the pillar. "You can control fire with light energy even if you don't have an affinity for fire magic through this magic equipment."

The runes on the equipment lit up, and then fire was gathering over the circle. "The more light energy you use, the stronger the fire."

Hansel covered a silver metal with light energy, then let it float over the fire. Magic materials floated and melted on the metal. "You need to know when to add the materials and the right temperature. You also have to keep the magical properties of the materials with light energy."

All the materials melted. Hansel poured them into a mold. He put the sword in unordinary water, then hammered the sword.

Hansel made a silver sword. He held it with his right hand."Not just any sword could bear magic."

A fire covered the silver sword.

"If the materials weren't made with fire properties, the sword would have been destroyed," said Hansel, then he looked at the young man and smiled. "Smithing magic weapons is not simple. You need to know the magic runes on the equipment before you can control it well. You also need to study the materials, their magical properties, compatibility, timing, the right degree of heat, and many others. I know you haven't studied them before, so I will give you more time."

He raised his watch. "Give the folder to Rhys Creed."

Rhys opened the projection and looked at the folder.

"Meet me again after two days, and hey, don't forget to take my nephews. They will arrive in three days."

Rhys smiled and nodded his head. "Thank you."

He was about to turn around, but he could not help but look at the shard again. "What is that shard?"

"Oh, that rusty thing? It is very tough. It will not break and it will not melt. I took it from our clan for research purposes. It isn't unique though. There were minerals that looked indestructible, but when we found a way to melt it, it became useless. They became brittle and could not be used for weapons or armor. They are difficult to form into weapons if they are not melted. Some small minerals were polished into arrows or daggers, but it is time-consuming and troublesome. That shard is probably one of them."

"Can I buy it?"

Hansel chuckled. "Just take it as my gift for becoming an exonn."

A big smile appeared on Rhys. "Thanks a lot. I owe you more."

Hansel laughed.

Rhys left the shop feeling excited. He immediately went back to their home.

His sister was using a laptop while the kid was watching tv.

Ana was surprised that her brother went back immediately. "I thought you were going to Hansel's shop."

"I did. He gave me more time to study. The real test is in two days. I will start studying in my room."

Ana nodded and hoped that he would succeed.

Rhys went to his room and carefully observed the shard in his hand."What are you?"

The shard suddenly turned into light and went to his forehead. "Oh sh*t!"

He quickly looked at his sea of consciousness."Damn Shard!"

The rust on the shard was quickly disappearing as it absorbed light energy from Rhys' soul.

Rhys quickly took light stones and meditated.

The last rust on the shard disappeared, then it turned into golden light.

A small white rabbit appeared in Rhys' sea of consciousness."Me, Fu, is back! hahahaha!"

Fu turned around and looked at the white armor with ten wings on Rhys' soul. He floated closer and touched the armor with sadness."Furiel."

Rhys felt exhausted, then he looked at the rabbit."What are you?"

Fu looked up and chuckled. He had a complacent look on his face."I'm the Divine Weapon, Fushnir. You can just call me Fu."
