2 Chapter 2 - Taming
The carriage stopped at the village near to the forest that I live in, there is a small shack in the cottage that I used to live in with my parents and it is a 15 minute walk away. The forest is to the north-west of the village.
There are a lot of monsters in the forest so the villagers tend to stay away from the area, not that I mind they haven't been exactly kind to me so I would like to keep interactions with them to a minimum if possible.
My parents taught me hunting and how to survive in the dangerous forest since an early age and because of that I can live quite the sustainable life even without contact with others, because of that even though my skills are terrible it doesn't mean I can't survive.
Walking through the village a lot of the children that returned seem like they have gotten good skills because of the prideful faces they are putting on in front of their parents, not that it matters much to me since I on my way back to the forest anyway.
Thankfully no one stopped me when I was walking through to the north-west side of the village to head to the forest so my walk was uneventful and peaceful.
Once entering the forest I head to my house that is about 100 meters into the forest, I don't know how big this forest actually is but it took my parents 4 days to reach the other side and come back.
While approaching my home I see a slime resting in front of the door, it is a bright green slime about 35 centimetres wide and 25 cm tall.
What is a slime doing here anyway none should be able to survive more than 5 minutes in this forest.
Thinking that the slime noticed me and it decided to charge at me, it isn't that intimidating since the slimes full speed seems to be that of someone taking a casual walk through town.
After about 20 seconds the slime made it to my position and jumped at me, it hit, then fell back on the ground doing 0 damage.
Since the slime was here already and I had[ Tame・Slime ]I decide why not tame it I am sure I can find a use for it, right? It must have some use right? It can't be completely useless…
And with that my skill went from[ Tame・Slime ](0/1) to[ Tame・Slime ](1/1).

It has been 3 weeks since I tamed the slime, I decided to call it Suu and because of how cute it is I decided to refer to it with female pronouns, Suu didn't seem to mind so I continued.
The stats of Suu when I tamed her were:

After seeing this I understood why slimes didn't have a very long lifespan, having 0 endurance means that a toddler could easily win against a slime, especially since it has no skills.
Regardless of this I still found a use for Suu.
Every day when I go hunting in the forest I make sure to kill and bring back any «Venom Spiders» that I see.
Venom Spiders are a pest in this forest due to their fast breedings, I usually come across around 30-100 of these spiders a day.
The Venom Spiders not including its legs are around the size of a human hand and their venom usually makes them hard to deal with.
However, I have been hunting these spiders almost all my life so for me they are easy prey.
I usually burn all the spiders I come across however upon bringing them back to the house Suu took an interest in them.
I didn't know if it would be safe for her to eat them because of the venom however she seemed to be fine and for the past 3 weeks it all she seems to eat.
I didn't mind Suu eating them since burning them produces a horrid smell and this way I get to avoid ever smelling it again.
However a problem seems to have occurred from her only ever eating Venom Spiders her status changed, I always made sure to check it every day to make sure she was healthy but now…

I have no idea what[ Slime・Absorb ]is but[ Spider・Venom ]and[ Spider・Thread ]are skills of the Venom spider that Suu has been enjoying for the past 3 weeks.
Thinking more about it since I have[ Analyse・Slime ]I might be able to analyse that skill since it seems to be in the[ Slime ]category of skills, not that I have ever heard about such a category but then again I hadn't heard about the Status Card either.
Thankfully it seems I was right and its details were as follows
[ Slime・Absorb ]Rare ability of the Slime species of monster. Slimes have a 3% chance of obtaining that skill for every 100 of the same species of monster or animal it consumes. This skill allows the Slime to absorb any skills or abilities from creatures or that it consumes.
Upon reading this I thought I was seeing things but after checking the ability a total 20 times it seems that I wasn't.
You might think to check it 20 times is excessive however even with my seclusion in the forest even I knew that slimes were meant to be the weakest thing in existence, but with this skill, it seems that they could become the strongest.
After thinking that and checking that Suu really could use the 2 skills she obtained I rushed into the forest and killed as many different monsters and animals I could find for Suu to consume.
