3 What in the World Is Happening?!

"Oh my… Bloody hell! The zombies have broken through the front door!" Lynn thought.

He was panicking as the adrenaline started pumping through his veins. He could literally hear and feel the pumping of his heart. He was already starting to overthink that if he was this scared, and his heart was pumping so hard, that the zombies would hear it and know where he was.

Lynn started looking around the basement to see where to hide. His fighting or self-defense skills and stamina were almost null, so fighting zombies was out of the options list. After a few seconds, Lynn started hearing footsteps, to be precise, it was more feet-dragging than footsteps. Whoever or whatever was marching inside his house also made some weird screeching and gurgling noises.

Lynn was really panicking at that moment. His mind was blank. The basement was not big, and his only available hiding space was an old wooden utility closet. He quickly and silently threw out all the things inside the closet, cutting his hand in the process with some shears that were in there, and hid inside. He could see what was happening outside in the basement since he left the lights on, and the utility closet's doors had little slits.

The feet dragging sound came closer. Right now, Lynn could hear the zombie clearer. It was not only one zombie, but many of them making those gurgling and screeching noises.

"Oh my! I'm going to die like this!" Lynn thought as he hugged his knees tightly and closed his eyes wishing that a miracle could happen.

Lynn then heard them passing through the basement door. Then a loud thumped, and Lynn knew that the door was gone. Soon, he heard how the boxes started to fall to the floor.

"I don't want to die. I don't want to be a cannon fodder!" Lynn cried in his own mind since he was too scared to even speak in a low voice. He was totally trembling and if he did not become zombie food, he would most probably die from a heart attack.

Suddenly, he felt the brush inside his jacket getting hot, Lynn took it out and a warm light engulfed him.

Just as the zombies came into sight, Lynn felt the warm light that was engulfing him seconds ago die out.

"What in the bloody world was happening" Lynn thought as he opened his eyes to see through the closet door's slits what was happening outside in the basement. Lynn could not move as swiftly as before, it seemed as if his clothes had been reduced in size. Lynn then tried to accommodate himself, and that is when he noticed that his clothes had not been reduced in size but had completely changed.

With the dim light from the basement that entered through the closet, Lynn tried to inspect himself. He was no longer wearing tracksuit pants and a white T-shirt with a tracksuit jacket. Instead, he was apparently wearing a tuxedo and one that had many decorations on the shirt. The worst part of all of it was its color was emerald green.

"How the f*** did this happened?" Lynn continued panicking.

Lynn had totally forgotten that he was in the same room as a horde of zombies, but he was soon brought back to reality when the zombies started coming in his direction, and Lynn could feel the smell of rotting flesh.

Lynn did not have time to be skeptical, the only sane but bonkers explanation was that the brush must be responsible for his transformation. Since everything made no sense today, Lynn whispered to the brush, "Please, magic brush, please, help me!"

Lynn's right hand suddenly took a life of its own and started writing on the wooden wall of the utility closet. The ink was glowing in golden color as he wrote. As Lynn continued writing, he noticed that the language was one that he had not seen before. Suddenly, Lynn noticed that it was brighter outside the closet, and as he took a small peek, he noticed a glowing summoning circle in all the center of his basement.

"Oh my bloody f***, now I'm really dead" Lynn thought.

Just then, the summoning circle stopped glowing and an old Chinese general appeared from it. He was tall and was carrying a sword and a shield. He looked as if he had come out of a cosplay convention. The old man then sliced some of the zombies that were coming his way.

"I, General Li Mu Qing, will slay all my master's enemies!" The general roared.

Lynn rubbed his eyes not believing what he was seeing. The cosplay old man was slaying zombies as if they were made from paper! Heads came off rolling to the floor. The smell of rotten flesh was now very pronounced.

Just as General Li continued slaying the zombies in front of him, a group of the zombies wanted to attack him from the back. General Li noticed this and blocked them with his shield. That is when Lynn remembered where he had seen this guy before.

It was years ago when Lynn was still a teenager. He had once read a web novel about a guy who transmigrated into ancient China and became the emperor. In that story, there was a general who risked his life to save the MC's life and died—like in chapter 3.

"I must be dreaming, there is no way, I transformed and summon a character from a web novel using an old brush," Lynn tried to comfort himself. What Lynn could not deny was that if all this nonsense was a dream, then why would the cut that he got while moving the things out of the closet still hurt.

"It's just a really realistic dream," Lynn repeated. He then tried to pinch himself. Which hurt like hell.

"Okay… So… not a dream!" Lynn thought. He then watched again through the closet slits to see how General Li was doing.
