3 Summoning Staff

After Ye Gan had left, Luo Chen used his power to duplicate the ring.

Luo Chen then took out everything that was stored in the rings. Two piles of identical treasure filled the room. It was quite an unbelievable sight.

There were stones that were glowing, rare fruits, and medicines of various colors. Most of these items were meant for summoned beasts. The beasts would consume these resources to grow. Raising a summoned beast was no doubt very costly.

To raise a high-level beast, spending a lot of money was necessary. Even a well-off family might struggle. However, this was not a problem for Luo Chen. If he needed resources, he could just walk around a store and use his duplication power.

"Here, eat this."

Luo Chen put Xiao Bao on the ground. The little beast quickly ran towards the food and began eating. It chewed up a golden pearl before swallowing. 

The golden pearl was actually a beast crystal. This crystal provided a lot of nourishment for summoned beasts.

"You have such a strong appetite!" Luo Chen exclaimed. 

Xiao Bao was small but it consumed the food very quickly. In an instant, half of the resources were gone. 

Suddenly, the summoning scripture lit up. Without wasting any time, Luo Chen checked it. Xiao Bao had gained a level.

"You're the reason why Ye Mei Er is so poor."

A woman entered the room and looked at Xiao Bao with a livid expression.

To her, cultivation resources were not food. She did not expect them to be used this way. 

"Who are you?"

Luo Chen asked the woman with a serious tone. All the doors and windows were originally shut but somehow, she managed to enter. She might be rather powerful.

"I am Ye Mei Er's master. I traded all my resources for this divine pet egg. It was for her but instead, she gave it away. Therefore, I'm here to take it back!"

The woman then saw the broken eggshell. There was a sour expression on her face.

'Clang!'

She dropped her summoning staff. 

"A summoning staff?"

Luo Chen looked at the staff on the ground. With a summoning staff, one could cast spells. The summoning staff was even more valuable than the pet egg.

After picking up the summoning staff, Luo Chen returned it to the woman.

"You dropped your summoning staff," said Luo Chen politely.

In reality, he had already seized the opportunity to duplicate the summoning staff. 

Luo Chen was surprised that all his power was consumed.

He had duplicated many things before, but this was the first time that he had completely run out of power. 

'Is there more to this summoning staff than the eyes could see?'

The woman glared at Luo Chen angrily. She held herself back from making a move. After all, this was her disciple's younger brother. Besides, she did not want to ruin her reputation.

"I guess I'm just unlucky."

She picked up Xiao Bao and carried it in his arms.

This made Xiao Bao angry and it began to struggle.

"What are you doing?"

Luo Chen was displeased. A summoned beast would only have one master in its entire life. This was common knowledge. 

'Does she have a method to change a summoned beast's master?' 

The thought made Luo Chen nervous.

"I used up all my wealth to trade for the pet egg. How can I let you have it for free? If you want it back, then you'll have to pay me! Otherwise, you'll never see this beast again!"

After saying that, the old woman turned around. She was about to leave.

"Wait! I'll pay you!"

Luo Chen shouted desperately.

"Really? I don't think you have anything more valuable than this white tiger. What are you offering?"

The woman asked curiously while looking at Luo Chen with contempt.

'He's just spouting nonsense. There's no way he has anything of value.'

"I'll give you the Ye family's heirloom. Please wait a moment."

Luo Chen dashed to another room. 

In reality, what he wanted to offer was the newly duplicated summoning staff. It took all of his power to duplicate the staff. Obviously, it was very valuable.

When Luo Chen took out the summoning staff, he felt his heart ached. The same item could not be duplicated more than once. Once he handed it over, he would permanently lose it.

However, at his current level, Luo Chen was unable to utilize the summoning staff. Thinking about this made him more willing to part with the staff. A precious item was no different from trash if it could not be used. Getting the white tiger back was more important. Furthermore, he could duplicate anything except souls. So, it was impossible for him to duplicate the white tiger.

"This is our family heirloom. Have a look."

Luo Chen handed over the summoning staff. His palm was sweaty. He was unsure if the summoning staff was more valuable than the white tiger.

"This summoning staff seems very familiar!"

The woman checked the staff. She was so stunned that she dropped her own staff and Xiao Bao. 

"I can't believe this! I never expect to find another piece of epic equipment! This is almost impossible!"

She shouted hysterically.

Xiao Bao was scared and it quickly ran back to Luo Chen. 

Luo Chen picked it up and finally felt relieved.

The old woman held both staff in her hands. She rapidly looked left and right, as if she was mad.

"Well, I have to go now."

Luo Chen exited the room quietly.

A horse carriage was traveling unsteadily on the mountain road.

An old man was driving the carriage. There was a teenager sitting inside.

The young man was bored and stuck his head out of the carriage's window to enjoy the scenery.

"How much longer until we reach our destination?"

"We're almost there. It'll only take three more days," said the old man with a smile.

The old man was the butler of the Ye family. He was also a level twelve summoner. 

The journey to Sky Fire City was a long one. Ye Gan was afraid that his son would encounter danger. So, he instructed the third strongest person in the Ye family to escort Luo Chen.

"Three more days? That's still a long time."

Luo Chen shook his head helplessly. He had lost track of time. 

Nonetheless, Luo Chen did not waste the time during his travels. He had already leveled up to a level one summoner. Xiao Bao had also leveled up to a level two thanks to his abundance of resources.
