32 Promise?

Ms Patch led Robin, though the house the walls were very subtle off White wallpaper decorated with delicate flowers and branches. While the flooring was rich wooden planking. On the walls was a mixture of art working ranging in size and texture, the one thing that didn't range in though was how expensive they seemed. The entire house felt elegant yet rustic, and if it was not for the circumstances Robin was sure she would have enjoyed it.

Ms Patch lead Robin into a dining room, sitting at a huge carved oak dining table with easily enough room for 16 guests was Mr Caldwell, he was sipping a coffee and reading a paper he barely looked up when Robin entered the room, but when his eyes did glance upon her in the green maxi dress Robin could have sworn she caught his mouth gape a little bit in surprise.

"Sit Miss Giggs," said Mr Caldwell pointedly as he gestured towards a chair. "We have many things to discuss"

'Is this a business meeting or something' Robin thought as she pulled up a chair. Once she had sat Mr Caldwell places his hand in his pocket and pulled out a small metal box and placed it on the table.

"Your new phone," Mr Caldwell casually said, but his eyes were dark and his fingers remained on the phone. "I have some requests for you. Before I gift you this phone."

"... Gift me this phone?" Robin could feel the anger within her boiling away, she hadn't asked for the phone, Mr Caldwell had actually demanded that she took the phone from him.

"Yes, gift you this phone" Mr Caldwell repeated he seemed to have forgotten what he had said before. "I have a couple of conditions, They are easy to follow. Number one no more jumping out of moving cars, it's not very good for your health. Number two I request that you stay here till you are fully recovered, I know you are anxious to get back to the real world but I really do have the best health care for you here and finally, number three and this is the big one, seeing how careless you are I need to know that you are going to be safe so I need you to text me back if I text you." He held the phone out to Robin, his eyes where twinkling devilishly.

Robin looked at him, eyeing up his proposal the first two conditions were not too bad Robin did not intend on jumping out of another car, and she was sure that even if she said no she would have trouble leaving the house so in that respect it would be better to comply, but texting Mr Caldwell back... Why was he so determined to be in her life? What was so exciting about her? She was sure there were plenty of girls who would eagerly text Mr Caldwell back.

'I guess the only thing to do is to go along with this madman and hope he grows bored of me...' Robin thought to herself, after a pause she nodded at Mr Caldwell and reached for her phone, just before she took it Mr Caldwell grasp the phone tightly his long delicate fingers almost brushing Robins. In a low whisper, his lips moved and he uttered one word.

"Promise?"
