15 A Childs Promise.

Robin got dressed quickly, she picked a pale blue knee-length skirt with a simple white blouse, she was a lot quicker to get ready this today. Robin was about to head out when felt her pocket vibrate, she pulled out her phone casually to check the message.

"Good Morning Miss Giggs,

I would just like to remind you that Mr Caldwell is still awaiting your apology if you could please contact me as soon as possible so we can arrange your visit to the estate.

Mr Caldwell is being very gracious to let you off so easily, please do not cause my master any more harm. I expect to hear from you by 3 pm today or I will be forced to take things further.

Your's sincerely,

Mr Bellham. "

Robin sighed, she felt sorry for Mr Caldwell she had lost her mother when she was young, the pain that it had caused her made her sympathetic to Mr Caldwell's loss of both parents, but even then it didn't give him the right to act like such a creep!!! She was about to send a very mouthy text back, then she remembered what Mike had said about Mr Caldwell being known for being dangerous.

'It's probably not the best idea to aggravate him even more... ' thought Robin as she slid her phone back into her pocket 'maybe if I just ignore him, he'll get the message. '

She had more pressing things to deal with, Mr Thomas... how was she going to avoid him? She didn't have to go back to University, but then what would she do with her life she had no idea about this world, the economics, what money she had, maybe she had a part-time job already ?? Had she been missing her shifts, Robin gulped at the idea of being in trouble for a job she didn't know if she had, she had never been fired and she didn't intend on starting today!!

Robin had worked hard her whole life. As a child Robin's mother got very sick, her father had put every penny the family had - and a few they didn't have into trying to save her mother. The hospital's bills were so steep that her father had to turn to a shady loan company to keep up with payments. In the end, all the treatment was futile and Robin's mother still passed away. Robins father still had to deal with the loss of his wife and the debt. The loan company forced her father to work for them, dealing with getting payments from other customers who could not pay. Her dad was a gentle man and causing other people pain and grief pushed him into depression. Robin had watched as her father worked hard even though the job was killing him. As a young teenager she promised herself that one day she would earn the money to buy her fathers freedom, so they could escape and live happliy.

What Robin didn't know, when she was younger, was that one of the reasons that her father had agreed to do such cruel deeds to other people in debt was to keep his daughter safe from the mobsters who had taken an interest in her. She had discovered this fact only a few weeks ago, it had sent her into a rage she knew she was planning revenge on the mobsters but she couldn't remember what happened...

Robin hadn't realised but thinking about her father had caused tears to appear in her eyes, until she felt something moist hit her cheek. Wiping her face she realised that thinking about her father was not goingt to help her. Right now she needed to sort out this life she was living, if she was ever going to make it back to her life she would need to survive in this life first.

"Robin are you ready?" Ivy called from the other side of the door.

"Almost..." Robin sniffed, picking up her bag. She needed to learn everything about this life, starting with how did she make money?
