2 Chapter Two

Peeling her eyes open, Diana looks at the gory scene before her. A white wolf glares at her through black voids. Blood coats his white fur, and red liquid stained his teeth as he snarled at her.

"Dumb A**, you need to defend yourself!" He growled before running away.

'Wait, where are you going?' Diana doesn't say a word, for she was in shock, but wanted to. Right in her lap was Balto, who had a chunk of his neck missing. She felt relieved that she wasn't the one who died but felt terrible for him. Before she could even get up, two voices drift into her ears.

"GHOST! We need to find Princess Diana before anyone else does." The first voice was feminine and sounds annoyed.

"I know, but it's kinda hard when you have a wolf trying to attack you at every turn." An exasperated masculine voice replies to the female.

Diana immediately stands up from the muddy ground. Not wanting to die today, she tries to think of a way to escape. 'I can shift...or at least try. Why didn't I think of this earlier? I'm so stupid!' Trying to remember what her mother and father would do to transform something clicked in her brain like a missing puzzle piece. She starts to sing a lullaby; her mother would sing to her while dragging her sharp nails on her arm, having the intention to draw blood. Diana is in autopilot; the only thing she can remember is her singing. She kept repeating the song like a chant. The sound of footsteps coming closer makes her sing louder as the scarlet liquid starts to trickle down her arm. A burning sensation spreads throughout her whole body, starting with her heart and moving to her legs and arms. Her legs wanted to give out, but she let her mind picture her mother screaming as a black wolf latches onto her neck, and her father gets tackled by a group of three wolves. All of them laughed like hyenas, but they had one difference, these wolves wanted blood and pain while hyenas just wanted food, not unnecessary pain. As the sensations subside, Diana realizes she is more massive than before, making her feel powerful. Looking up to the sky while stretching her wings, she lets out a mighty roar to let the world know a new dragon has awakened and will not tolerate disrespect. Diana lets her head drop to the ground so Diana could sniff the ground. She quietly listens for noises before noticing two very close heartbeats behind her, both racing at an unhealthy rate. Swinging her gigantic head around while unfurling her enormous wings in a defensive gesture, she looks at the puny people before her.

"Holy Sh** GHOST!!!!" A woman exclaims as her shoulder-length brown hair blew in the wind. The girl's eyes transfixed onto Diana.

"Okay. Diana, I know you think of us as a threat, but I'm here to help you." While staring into Diana's yellow eyes reassuringly, a man with snow-white hair says softly. He wanted to get Diana quickly and quietly out of the raging battle, but instead, everyone now knows she has transformed.

She lets out a soft growl as they are both inch closer to her. The man keeps eye contact, not once taking his eyes off her while placing his hand on her scaly snout. She lets out a purr like sound as he rubs his hand in a circular motion making her lean into his touch. The woman walks near her wings, which Diana overlooks. She touches her wings softly, which makes Diana swings her head around and snarl at the woman. She jumps back in surprise, making the man chuckle in amusement.

"Hey Diana, can you transform back into your human form?" He asks her while sounding like both of them have good friends for years.

Nodding her head yes, she moves her tail to her mouth, avoiding her spikes. They curiously watch her; she inhales deeply before placing her tail into her jaws. She prepares herself for the pain as she sinks her teeth into her purple scales. Their eyes widen in alarm as they watch Diana harm herself. Diana feels herself shrink, and the power she thirsts for drains from her body. Collapsing onto the cold ground, she feels the exhaustion of her first transformation hit her. The white-haired man (Ghost) sprints to her and wraps her in his luxurious coat.

"Samantha, call the rest of the pack. All of our plans have changed." Ghost commands before focusing his attention on the child before him.

"It's going to be alright, Diana. I know you're exhausted, so go to sleep..." He quietly says in an almost hypnotic manner.

Diana doesn't need to be told twice as she entirely trusts the man carrying her. She lets her head rest against his chest as her eyelids close. Her breathing becomes even as she gets pulled into a dream.
