5 Chapter Five

Diana P.O.V.

Diana looks at the rose wallpaper, examining it. She's looking at a small tear in it. Diana suspects the house has a dark past; she notices that crack looks like a knife was stabbed into the wall. She thought she saw a speck of dried blood, but Diana tells herself she imagines it. Before analyzing it any longer, the sound of a bell ringing makes her head turn to the entrance of the room. The ringing reminded her of her old grey cat named Minty she used to care for. Her father put a bell around Minty's neck because Diana wasn't able to find her in the vast castle. The thought made her long for the home she lost. She refuses to cry, but she wants to be able to hug her parents right now. Tears threaten to escape her eyes, but before she could cry, a small male walks in. She hadn't noticed the ringing got closer. He had shoulder-length red hair that looked very soft and green eyes that look cat-like.

"Hi...?" Diana says, awkwardly trying not to feel uncomfortable as he probably caught her almost crying.

"Hello, it's an honor to be in your presence, Princess Diana. I'm Miles, the servant of this establishment." Miles says while bowing deeply.

"Nice to meet you, Miles, but what do you need?" Diana asks, trying not to blush, as she's not used to this sort of treatment.

"Good question. I'm here because my master or Ghost has told me to show you around the house." Miles keeps his eyes focused on the ground as he stands up.

~After showing Diana around.~

"This house is huge. How do you clean everything, Miles? It seems like hard work," Diana questions Miles, obviously impressed by the house.

"Oh, yes, but it isn't hard at all. I'm so used to cleaning it that it doesn't take long at all. Thank you, though, for recognizing my hard work." Miles says while rubbing his neck awkwardly.

Ghost P.O.V.

Ghost sits in at the same oak desk with a crystal glass in his hand. A quarter of the crystal glass was full of amber liquid. He put it to his lips and took a sip. The smooth substance went down his throat, leaving a small tingly sensation on his tongue. His body starts to relax as he took another sip relishing the smoky flavor it left on his tastebuds. His eyes close while massaging his temples; he felt exhausted. He started to doze off while resting the glass on the desk. His hair fell onto his face as his breathing became even.

"And this is Ghost's study." A voice loudly yelled.

Ghost jumps up to see Miles standing there with Diana. His glass tipped over, amber liquid spilled over the desk. He glares at Miles through his blue eyes. Diana covered her mouth, trying to silence a laugh. His head turns to her before shaking his head in amusement. Miles bit his cheek, trying to silence his laughter too.

"Laugh it up, you two, but Miles, I will make you clean the basement if this gets on my clothes at all." Ghost growls.

Miles quickly sprints out of the room to grab something to clean it up. Diana watches on the sidelines quietly.

"So, how was the house tour?" Ghost asks.

"It was very nice. It does seem like it has a history." Diana says while slightly tilting her head in curiosity.

Ghost's jaw tenses as he swallows a lump that formed in his throat. *How does she know?* She watches him as his whole body became tense.

"I do have a question about technology here. Where is it? I mean rode to the house in a horse-drawn carriage and I haven't seen anything modern." Diana questions while looking at him with curiosity.

"We do have some technology but we have very few things. We like to keep it that way because the Reapers have the world's best hackers working for them. We don't use phones or computers unless you're a high ranker like me. We need them but very rarely will we use it. Most of the time we use messengers like an exiled morpher." Ghost pauses to see her reaction but she looks at him wanting to hear more.

"I have a raven named Shilo who was exiled and stayed too long into his morph. He has volunteered to help me even though he's just a messenger. I did send a message to the Reapers asking if you're dead or did you escape to send them off your trail. We want to keep you as invisible as possible until you can defeat them,"

"What do you want me to say to that?" Diana says while her pupils turn to slits.

"I don't know I just wanted you to know that. So now you have to stay invisible for as long as you can. No matter what happens you need to train and become as strong as you can." Diana looks at Ghost in horror while he is saying that.

She storms off as he finishes off his insensitive sentence. He huffs in annoyance before seeing Miles in the doorway shaking his head.

"Miles cleans this up and talk to Diana, please? I don't know how to deal with a grieving fifteen-year-old without becoming annoying. Thank you, Miles." Ghost stands out from his desk before walking out of the room.
