7 Chapter 7 The Conflict Between the Two Sisters

"Sister, what are you doing again?"

Vanessa felt that her sister was confusing her. If she had a cramp, she should have a good rest instead of making trouble.

"My dear sister, please carry some bags as soon as possible. We have to stay away from this demon." Krista said anxiously.

"Stop, sister. That's enough!"

Vanessa shouted at her sister.

"Are you going to betray West again?"

This sentence seemed to have incurred Krista’s pain. She immediately said in a cold voice.

"What do you mean?"

"Haha," Vanessa sneered, "You think I don't know what you have done to West?"

"My dear sister, I heard everything you said in your dream."

With a pale face, Krista asked, "what did you hear?"

"You are confessing to God. You said you shouldn't have left West just for some food."

"It's you who gave up on him," Vanessa said aggressively.

"I just want us to have enough food and water to live a few more days. He consumed more food and water than us combined."

"Sister, no more excuses. You are a selfish woman."

"When we were in the small villa, all the heavy work was done by West. You were like a proud princess, commanding people to do whatever you wanted. Did you ever take West seriously?"

"He ate more because he consumed too much physical strength."

"How could you do that to him!"

Krista's explanation seemed to be useless in the face of her sister's charges. She lowered her head and retorted impenitently

"But he’s fine. Look at him. How good his life is without us! He has food and drinks, and he has weapons to protect himself."

"Let's go, Vanessa. Come with me. I won't hurt you," Krista pleaded.

For this, Vanessa uttered a rare yell, "Enough, sister. Do you want me to be a traitor as well?"

"You don't understand. You have always been so naive." Krista said, two streams of tears rolling down her face.

"Humph, I'm as old as you. You were just born a few seconds earlier. I won't betray West. Let me tell you, my sister, I like West. Only when I'm with him can I feel a sense of security."

"If I stay with you, I will be afraid that you will desert me when there’s not enough food."

After saying that, Vanessa felt relieved and spoke out all the thoughts that had been hidden in her heart.

"Do you really think so?" Krista covered her face and cried bitterly. She knew that her previous betrayal had caused a crack between the two sisters. Compared with her, Vanessa was more willing to believe that demon.

"Yes, sister. You are more demon-like than West!"

Vanessa's words gave Krista a heavy blow. She remained in shock for a long time.

She thought for a long time and pointed the gun at her head.

"Sister, what are you doing?"

"Vanessa, I know you won't listen to my explanation no matter how hard I try. We have to leave here now. I'll explain it to you later."

"If you don't leave with me, I will die in front of you."

Vanessa looked at her sister in shock. At this moment, she really wanted to open Krista's head with a pry bar to see if it was a mess. Why did she have to leave when a good life was available here?

She believed that her sister must have a mental problem because of the torment of the apocalypse. She didn't want anything to happen to Krista.

Reluctantly, she nodded and walked behind Krista with the food on her back.

"Sister, look!"

When the two of them opened the back door of the police station, they saw a frightening scene.

She looked around and saw countless zombies pacing back and forth.

A new wave of zombies came to the town!

Zombies were so close to each other that they couldn't find a place to stay.

When the zombies saw them, they rushed to them.

Fortunately, they didn't go far. They trotted back and closed the door made of pure steel tightly.

Hearing the knocking sound outside the door, the two of them breathed out in fear.

"Sister, I think we'd better wait until West comes back. There is probably no safer place than this in the whole town now."

No one had expected that there would be another zombie tide in the small town. Knowing the danger, Krista nodded helplessly.

In the car, West also noticed the abnormality of the zombies.

Since his second evolution, he had become different from ordinary people.

He could feel that the zombies seemed to be excited and his own blood flow became quicker.

The sun in the sky was a little red, beautiful and evil.

It seemed that the change of the environment activated the zombies. West also felt that his strength seemed to be increasing inexplicably.

He seemed to be on the edge of evolution just like the zombies!

West had a bad feeling. He had to devour the big guy in the meat factory to complete a wave of evolution before it evolved, or it would become more difficult to deal with.
