4 Meeting Him

Bei Shiyi stopped Shen Ai and said, "I apologize on behalf of my friend. Please forgive her and take it as a token of our sincere apology." She handed her the shirt on which she had designed the flower pattern.

Nie Ankai continued, "Shiyi painted it herself. It will look good on you. I am really sorry for ruining your dress." She held her hand and made an apologetic face as she tried to control her laughter.

"It's alright. Friends shouldn't fight. You should forgive Ankai as she didn't ruin your dress on purpose. You should also be thankful to Shiyi for giving you such a nicely designed shirt." Teacher Song said to Shen Ai. Shen Ai glared at Bei Shiyi and Nie Ankai, before she left the classroom with the shirt. Cheng Muxi followed her behind.

Meanwhile, teacher Song introduced herself and took the attendance. "Class, as you all know, this is grade three. The most important year of your school life. This year will play an essential role in determining your future. Remember, there is no shortcut to success. Only by working hard, you will be able to land in your dream universities. You must cooperate with me to improve and excel. Alright?"

"Yes, teacher. Everyone chorused."

Shen Ai came back with Cheng Muxi wearing the shirt designed by Bei Shiyi. She had a vicious look in her eyes. If the eyes had the power to eat, then, Shen Ai would have eaten her alive. She was burning with anger as everyone admired Bei Shiyi's skills.

The class began once they had settled down. Teacher Song taught them English. She was an excellent teacher and taught everything patiently. Her simple vocabulary and amazing examples made everyone learn quickly.

After, the first half of the classes ended, as teacher Song was about to leave, the school principal entered the classroom with a very good-looking boy.

"Everybody, be seated.", the principal instructed as the students were about to leave for recess.

"He is your new classmate, Gu Jia Xin. He is really good at sports especially, basketball. Hope you can learn from each other." As the principal introduced him, he turned to Teacher Song.

"She is Ms. Song Jin. You can call her Teacher Song. She is your head teacher for the session."

"You can feel free to come to me if you face any difficulties." Teacher Song told the new student.

The new student hadn't spoken anything till now. So, everyone thought he must be nervous. But he calmed everyone as he introduced himself.

"Hello Everyone! I am Gu Jia Xin. My father was transferred to this city, this month. So, I got enrolled in this school. I hope all of you can help me adjust to the new environment."

The 'bad boys' were stunned as they saw him.

"He is Gu Jia Xin. We have competed in several matches before and have never managed to win against him. He is really good at basketball." Wang Lei told the other two boys.

"How about we invite him to join our team?" Yang Chen replied.

"We will form a strong team, learn from each other and will also get a new friend." Li Zhen said.

The three of them nodded in approval.

The principal soon left the class. Teacher Song turned to Gu Jia Xin and said,

"Jia Xin, you can sit with Bei Shiyi. She can help you in studies and also guide you with the curriculum."

Teacher Song turned to Bei Shiyi with an expectant look. Bei Shiyi nodded at her.

Nie Ankai reluctantly moved to the seat ahead. Bei Shiyi stood as she waited for Gu Jia Xin to enter.

"I would like to sit on the outer side.", he said in a polite but commanding tone.

"I don't really mind sitting inside or outside. Teachers keep calling me. So, I hope you won't be uncomfortable sitting on the outer side." Bei Shiyi said as she gestured him to move inside.

"Don't worry, I won't feel uncomfortable. I am used to sitting on the outside. It makes it easier for me to communicate with everyone. So, I request you to move inside." Gu Jia Xin replied.

"But..."

"I hope you can move inside soon. Neither do I want to waste my recess time in this petty argument nor do I hope that my first day at school starts like this." Gu Jia Xin interrupted her.

Bei Shiyi looked at Nie Ankai and kept her bag on the inner side. Without looking back at Gu Jia Xin, she turned to leave the class with Nie Ankai.

"Hey!!" Gu Jia Xin called from behind and Bei Shiyi and Nie Ankai turned towards him.
