Officially enrolled with a shady deal.

"Lass, do you want to become an omega?"

I only shook my head as a response. I don't want any of these second-genders; if possible, I would rather stay the same until the very end.

But of course, I can't say that to Alexandra. She would probably think I'm weird and might start dissecting my head.

"Then why don't you look happy?" Alexandra asked again, and I'm starting to feel annoyed at how nosy Alexandra can be.

With a stretched uncomfortable smile, I awkwardly answered, "what do you mean? I am happy…"

"Really? Doesn't look like it to me," Alexandra remarked.

'Why does this woman have to pick on every little matter?' I asked in my thoughts, feeling vex. Still, I maintain a calm facade, grinning exaggeratedly to show how happy I look. As if.

"Really, I am so happy that I don't know how to express it," I said, forcing myself to smile from ear to ear; concealing how anxious and worried I am in my heart.

Alexandra shrugged and said, "oh well, it doesn't really matter since you'll still turn to an alpha whether you like it or not."

I pressed my lips together, trying hard not to roll my eyes as I retorted in my heart. 'Of course, I know that which is also why I would rather drop this subject and change the topic.'

But instead of voicing my indignation, I chose to change the topic instead. "So…Is there anything else left to do? Any test that still hasn't been completed yet, perhaps?" I said, discreetly changing the topic.

Fortunately, Alexandra took the bait.

"Right," Alexandra mumbled as she took the quill pen, recording something on the paper. "I just need to complete these paper works, and afterwards, you'll finally become an official student of mystic academy."

'Finally, it's over.' I inwardly celebrated as I watched the Alexandra mark my test paper as a pass.

I obediently stood at the side of the wooden table, waiting for the red haired woman to finish.

However, despite being elated in my heart, I still couldn't shake the slight feeling of unease, but I tried to ignore it for now since I didn't want to ruin this happy day.

That's right. Today is a happy day since I am now an official student of the Mystic Academy. I can rest at ease at last, because Lory won't be able to follow me here, and that means; I'm free to do whatever I want without any worries. After all, the only person I think that probably has suspicions with my identity is Lory.

So now that I'm far away from those watchful eyes, I can now start with my plans. That is, to train hard so I could live as a hermit in a far away forest.

'Isn't this plan just brilliant? I'm a genius,' I praised my intelligent mind as I waited patiently.

After a long while of waiting, Alexandra finally completed the paperwork, giving me the academy's badge. "Wear this emblem at all times, it's a distinctive ornament worn that represents you as a first year student of the academy, and for your uniform, well, you will receive it in your dormitory," said the red haired woman.

I nodded as I took the brooch from Alexandra.

Looking at its appearance, my lips couldn't help but curved into a smile. The badge appeared like jewellery that could be pinned on the clothes as a decoration. It had a green gemstone in the middle, symbols carved on the golden case, and on top was a jester's hat made out of silver.

"Alright lass, your screening test has been concluded, but we still have a problem," said Alexandra, looking at me solemnly.

Sensing the seriousness in her voice, I gulped nervously. "What's wrong?"

"Well…" Alexandra started, grabbing her chin as if pondering over an important matter. "You see, the dean master is very strict on the academy's golden rules and follows it like a holy bible," she explained.

"And?" I urged.

Alexandra clasped her palms together as she continued, "And…well, the academy has this rule to treat each student equally, so in other words, what I'm trying to say is…"

Briefly understanding the gist of what Alexandra was trying to point at, I nodded at her understandably and said, "I get it professor, what do you need me to do?"

"As expected of my guinea…ahem," Alexandra cleared her throat and corrected, "personal assistant."

The red haired woman plastered an approving smile. "You understand things fast," Alexandra complimented, tapping my back lightly with a satisfied smile on her face.

I can't help but feel like I'm slowly getting used to being called guinea pig slash personal assistant. Well, I don't sense any bad intentions from Alexandra, so that's probably why I didn't feel anything suspicious about it whenever she gets the slip of the tongue.

Perhaps I could trust Alexandra?

Think about it, Alexandra doesn't have a role to play in that trashy novel, so that makes the red haired woman a good friend to make. Moreover, since I'm now an official student of the academy, there is nothing else that could make me feel fazed; except if it was about that damn novel.

And it was all thanks to Alexandra's shady help, or her deal with me to become her personal assistant slash guinea pig; that I overcame that predicament.

Even though Alexandra doesn't know that she just saved my life; still, after everything was said and done; in the end, the red haired woman was still the reason why I managed to get into the academy without exerting any effort.

That's why I'm grateful to Alexandra, and I would always regard her as my benefactor. Not to mention that this red haired woman is in fact my boss now; I will probably work as her personal assistant slash guinea pig from now onwards.

At these thoughts, I turn to stare at Alexandra with an inquiring gaze. "Alright professor, what is it that I need to do with this problem we have?" I said getting back on the topic.

"Well, what you need to do is simply…" said Alexandra, pressing her lips together hesitantly. Her mouth closed and opened then closed again; her brows wrinkled, looking in a trance deep in thought.

Seeing some hesitation in Alexandra's eyes, I inquired and said, "...yes professor?"

Alexandra narrowed her eyes at me as if contemplating something, and before long, she then clasped her hand as if she had decided on something.

"Right, lass listen…" Alexandra began. "You simply need to nod your head when I turn to look at you, easy right?" The red haired woman stated in a nonchalant voice; like it was not a big deal, but I feel like there's something wrong with her sentence.

Whatever, I shook those doubts in my heart as I decided to go with the flow. I glanced at Alexandra, nodding my head at her affirmatively.

The red haired woman smiled and said, "alright, let's go meet the dean master."

At that, both of us walked out of the entrance exam room.

"By the way, lass, I forgot to mention that you will only be working as my personal assistant on your vacant days, and since you still don't have a schedule for your class, why not go and visit the laboratory later on after we officialize your employment with the dean master, well, what do you say?" Alexandra stared at me expectantly.

There was something about what Alexandra said that seemed to bother me, but my thoughts are on cloud nine. Today is a happy day. Which is why I ignored the worries and concerns in my heart, because today I don't want to ponder too much.

Today, I just want to enjoy this moment like a normal student; even though I know deep inside that everything around me is not normal, but I ignored it as I glanced at the red haired woman and smiled affirmatively.

Alexandra smiled back, and for a second, her smile looked a little evil. I blink my eyes in confusion. For a moment, just now I thought I had seen Alexandra's evil grin once more, but when I look again, it doesn't seem to be the case. Instead of an evil grin, the red haired woman had a harmless smile plastered on her face.

'Perhaps I'm just imagining things,' I reasoned.

Afterwards, curiosity took over my body as I followed Alexandra inside of another building. I look down and then far head. A long red carpet was laid under my feet.

I walked down the long hall, moving my head all around.

Portrait paintings of certain individuals were displayed on the side of the wall. Chandeliers can be spotted on the ceiling. Lamps sticking on the side giving light without a candle inside yet it was still bright.

"This place is called Department of Education, a faculty establishment built for the staff, later on, I will tour you around once we officialize your employment with the dean master," Alexandra explained, leading ahead as she strode forward with haste.

I could only nod obediently, seeing how the red haired woman was in a hurry.

We turn left, then right, and then right and left. We turned so many corners, and it made me realise just how big this building is. What's more, this structure was only one of the buildings the academy has on the campus. No wonder so many people want to enter this academy. The campus was ginormous, and with one glance, anyone could tell just how rich this academy looked.

I feel like I hit the jackpot by just entering this academy.

Along the way, people would greet Alexandra politely with some respect and admiration in their eyes. While the red haired woman, on the other hand, would only nod her head and continue on like she's one of the executives of this place. It made me curious as to what position Alexandra has in this academy.

Not before long.

Alexandra suddenly stops in front of a huge wooden door. It was a thick iron wooden door. By a glance, I could tell that it was made out of an expensive wood. Don't ask me what type or what sort of kind the wood is, because I know nothing about woods. But I could tell by how sturdy the door appeared that the wood used was something only a rich person or organisation could afford. In other words, it's the smell of money.

I turned to Alexandra to ask her why we suddenly stood still, but the lids of my eyes widened in surprise. The red haired woman seemed to hesitate to knock. Alexandra raised her hand then retracted them over and over, and finally she retracted them.

Instead, Alexandra fixed her coat, smelt her breath, and combed her long curly red hair behind her ears. I suddenly had the urge to tell her that doing that wouldn't make her seem neat, but I decided not to make any comment because of how nervous she appeared.

Right after Alexandra finished fixing herself the best way she could; her dark eyes then turned to glance at me. With urgency, she whispered, "lass, fix yourself too, hurry."

"What?" I mumbled flabbergasted.

"Do it, hurry…!" Alexandra whispered quite loudly, urging me to do the same with her eyes.

Sighing in resignation; I had no choice but to also do the same silly thing she did; even though I feel like it didn't change anything, but it seems it made the red haired woman feel at ease, so I did as I was told.

Subsequently, Alexandra checked herself again, making sure that her coat was fixed and proper. Or so she thought it was fixed, since I can clearly see the wrinkles on her clothes, but anyway, if this is what would make her relax then I'll give her some slack.

After that, Alexandra turned to me again and agitatedly said, "are you ready?"

"Well, are you?" I asked her back. After all, she seems more nervous than I am, but seeing her apprehensive behaviour; it made me feel slightly anxious as well.

It seems that behind this wooden iron door is someone that can make Alexandra nervous and troubled. I took a silent note in my head to befriend the other person. I snorted mischievously to myself.

As if noticing the mischief in my heart, Alexandra reprimanded, "don't make trouble, lass."

"The other party behind this door is the real queen of hell," the red haired woman added. Her dark eyes look a little scared?

'Interesting,' I thought.

Seeing the furrowed brows and scared eyes on Alexandra's face; I decided to be obedient. "I got it professor, don't worry, okay?"

"Well, if you understand then let's go," Alexandra said, knocking on the door.

No one answered. A long awkward silence envelops the two of us as we both stare at the wooden iron door.

"Maybe the dean master isn't here?" I said, glancing at the nervous red haired woman beside me.

"Hush, don't speak, just wait," said Alexandra, pointing her index at her lips telling me to shut my mouth, and I did.

We both waited, and after about a few more minutes of standing, I finally heard some footsteps. Heels clicking on the marble floor resounding as it slowly advanced behind the door.

When the echoes of those heels faded and stopped, the door then creaked open. What welcomed my eyes was a 5 feet 7 inches tall woman dressed in fitted red; her maroon hair is tied in a neat bun, showing the clear features of her face; further displaying her coca-cola bottle-like figure; her pale skin complemented her red fitted dress, exuding a powerful womanly charm.

Her chilling red eyes first examined me. Looking at me from head to toe with squinting scrutinising eyes. It all happened in a short period of time since she quickly moved her eyes on the red haired woman beside me.

Even though I only met the dean master today, for some reason, my gut feeling was telling me that the dean master was a dangerous person.

I glanced at Alexandra to see how she was faring. Her business smile was on, and her back was straight and looked confident, but the drop of sweat building up on her forehead told me otherwise.

'She's nervous,' I concluded.

Something is weird. I could tell with the atmosphere between the two that something is going on. What's more, the dean master seems to be pretty upset towards Alexandra.

On the other hand, Alexandra swallowed as she kept a business smile on her face. "Dean master, I want to make this person beside me as my personal assistant," the red haired woman started right on the bat.

My eyes widened, feeling a little shock. Shouldn't Alexandra introduced me first before saying that?

I was left dumbfounded and rendered speechless.

And without any warning or head's up, Alexandra then turned to me and stared suggestively. After a while, I finally recalled what she said earlier before we came here.

That's right. My job here is to nod my head, so I nodded at Alexandra a little stiffly. A bit more awkward than I had imagined.

Seeing how poor my performance was; Alexandra's lips twitched, but it soon went back to her usual business smile again as she turned to look at the dean master.

"May I ask for your consent, dean mas…"

Alexandra immediately stops talking when the dean master suddenly raises her hand.

The dean master's red blood lips opened. "Before that…" the dean master paused.

Her fiery red eyes glanced at me; that brought a chill in my heart, "I want to have a private conversation with the person herself," the dean master said as her red lips raised to a provocative, challenging smirk.

I swallowed, feeling my stomach churn in my stomach. 'I think I need to go to the comfort room,' I thought, feeling the anxiety crawling to every inch of my skin.

The way the dean master gazes at me sends shivers down my spine. Like the gaze of the final boss in a dungeon; it was scorching but also chilling.

Probably seeing my timid reaction, the dean master's smile deepened.

After that, the dean master then glanced at Alexandra with a raised brow. "Could you leave us the two alone? Professor Alexandra Cassidy of the Magic and Research Department," said the dean master with squinted eyes.

'Am I in trouble?'
