5 {A Trip In This World} (3)

Jay pandered about how much younger he looked, blinking to make sure he was seeing things right, he also started touching his face to feel, so he didn't mistake who he was. Placing his palm on the shattered glass window, Jay realized he wasn't mistaken, it was without a doubt him.

But this body he was in, wasn't his own. He realized this after checking for his birthmark, located on his right shoulder. And to his surprise, it wasn't there. That only confirmed his suspicions.

Jay: '...This isn't my body, I know that's a fact now. But, why does this person look so much like me? Was he a mere background character that was supposed to die? Did I interfere with the plot of the story somehow? No, that can't be right, this story, no this world is all but fictional. Right? Or does it hold some sort of special purpose, wouldn't this mean…'A Heroic Tale' is an alternate version of my world?'

Jay thought long and hard about his circumstance, he was lost in thought after thinking of such outrageous theories. But, he was snapped out of it after his name was called.

Talia: "Hey, if you don't start moving now, we can't guarantee no monsters will attack you"

Jay: "Oh crap- I mean, right sorry. Here I come"

{𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 1 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳..}

In a carriage ride to the capital of GradSteil. Jay finds himself in an awkward position, he sits in the middle of the carriage, While Asher sits to his right, Talia sits to his left, Nora sits across to his right, Felix Siits Across From Him, and Debra Sits Across To His Right.

He was surrounded by these very powerful people and had little to say. Despite already coming to terms with his current situation, Jay still couldn't Bellevue he was sitting in the same space as these powerful individuals, almost feeling like he was with celebrities.

Jay: 'Okay, calm down Jay. Let's take this one step at a time, you were in your room not too long ago, you were reminiscing, found some old comics and novels, and the one novel you liked when you were a kid so happened to be a weird magical book that sent you into the world of that very same book. Yeah….that checks out….'

Jay recollected what had happened to him, his face full of disbelief and confusion still trying to process what has happened to him.

Jay: 'And on top of all that, this body. How can a background character I don't even know about look so much like me? And what bothers me…is that he's better looking too…should I be happy about this, or pissed off?…'

As Jay continued to think inwardly, the other son the carriage couldn't help but notice the expressions he was making. Felix seemed a bit annoyed at Jay's constant facial expression change. Nora seems interested and decides to ask.

Nora: "You seem to be deep in thought, is there something troubling you?"

Jay: "huh? Oh uh-"

Before Jay could even ask, Felix decides to talk cutting him off.

Felix: "Why do you care Nora? He's probably still scared shitless over the fact that his entire town got ravaged by some lower-level monsters, he should be grateful that he's even alive…"

Asher: "Felix! That's going too far!…"

Felix: "So what?! Why are you getting all upset about it?!…"

Asher gave Felix a fierce glare, Felix in response glared back. The atmosphere started to change, the air felt heavier, the wind began to blow heavily, and the ground began to rumble causing the moving carriage to shake. As Jay watched, he noticed a bright white tinge covering Asher's body, while a bright red tinge covered Felix's body.

Jay: 'Wait…isn't this!!..'

Nora: "BOTH OF YOU KNOCK IT OFF, YOUR AURAS ARE SEEPING OUT OF YOUR BODIES!!!"

With one quick shout from Nora, Asher and Felix came back to their senses. The intensity of the atmosphere began to die down, and the rumbling and air pressure seemed to stabilize.

Jay: 'Yup, I knew it. That was Aura, didn't expect to see it here of all places…but man…even if it was just a little bit…'

Jay grasped his chest quivering and shaking biting his bottom lip. Trying his best not to pass out from nausea and dizziness he was feeling.

Suddenly he felt a hand on his back, the feeling of something warm enveloping his body started to surge throughout each point of his body, from his hands down to his feet. Jay turned his head to his left, seeing the smiling face of Talia.

Talia: "You looked like you were about to pass out, so I poured a bit of my Mana into your body. Hopefully, it helps the with nausea your feeling"

Jay: "Oh, thank you, I thought I was gonna faint Ahah…"

[Aura] a unique element added to the fray, it doesn't have the same supernatural meaning and effect as magic. What aura is, stems from the already existing energy within all living beings, essentially life Energy'. The major difference between [Mana] and [Aura] is that aura is used to strengthen the body and or help build it up from a young age. While Mana is the source for all things Magic related, as long as you have a [Mana Pool] then all things should be fine.

Jay: 'But, the issue you here…'

As Jay thought to himself, he couldn't help but look in front of himself with a puzzled look.

A strange pure white screen with the words ['Welcome OtherWorlder Jay'] displays across from him, making him question what exactly was going on.
