I became the most powerful in an apocalypse

"No one trusts me because they say I am weak, I have hope that in the future I am going to be very powerful, and all those people who despised me are going to regret it because I am going to be so famous and powerful that they are going to want to brag that they knew me since they were nobody maybe that is true but I will never forgive them for having despised me.

My name is Jon Stone, September 15th is my 16th birthday, you could say it's going to be my best time since technically it could change my whole life.

That doesn't matter, the only thing I have to focus on is what I want for my future, since I was little I have always thought about being someone who is powerful, some of those things are being famous, having a lot of money and being someone respected by everyone, but in order to become that person I will struggle a lot, that's why I study as much as I can in school.

Today is Saturday I could get up late but I am not that kind of person, I prefer to get up early to do some exercise, like running and weight training to have muscle mass, to be able to be that person I want to achieve.

Since a few days ago there are rumors around the city that a malignant virus appeared that if you come in contact with it you can die, but that is not very well known but also others say that if you are affected by the virus you can get to have super powers this last one does not sound very realistic but you never know, the truth is that if the second one were true I would be very happy because it would be crazy to have super powers, but if that virus were to exist and both things could happen to you it would be very scary because you have a 50% chance of dying or having powers, but if they are wrong about the death and you actually become a kind of zombie it would be very bad for society, so they are pure rumors.

For the moment I don't have to worry as it could be pure lies, while I'm going to take a shower to go out for a walk around the city streets to see what's new about the rumor."

It's been 2 hours, Jon is ready to go out, after the shower, his mom made him breakfast so he wouldn't be hungry while walking around, because when he exercises he gets really hungry, so it's necessary to have a good breakfast.

After he finished his breakfast he said goodbye to his mom, when he left his house it was already 12 noon so he would have plenty of time to walk around since lunch would be at 4 in the afternoon.

Jon began to walk quietly through the streets of the city while he listened to what the others were talking about, he didn't hear anything that interested him so he continued on his way.

In the end he found nothing interesting, Jon continued his walk slowly as he had nothing to do.

The only thing that could mean was that something big had just happened, so Jon would have to go home.

"What will be going on, all of a sudden all the horns in the city started blaring, there is a rule that says, once the city alarm starts blaring all citizens will have to go home or find shelter in the nearest place they can find, so I am going to go home to be with my mom."

After running for about 10 minutes Jon arrived at his house once he got inside he yelled to his mom to see if she was home, his mom answered so Jon started locking all the doors and windows in the house.

Once he was done Jon went to his mom and asked her if she knew what was going on and her mom said she didn't know anything.

Jon began to think about possible things that could be happening, one of the things he could not get out of his head was the virus but at the same time he could not believe it because that would be something that would only happen in a movie, but if it was not a virus it means that a war started with a country or government, he prefers the second option to the first one because this way this could be controlled later than a virus.

"I don't have to think about negative things anymore, maybe it is a drill that they are rehearsing to see if the citizens respect the rules of the city to be able to see if they are prepared or not."

"As long as you don't have to worry about what might happen you have to have a good time with my mom because you never know when is the last one, the truth is I hope it's just a drill so I can relax all afternoon."

Half an hour passed, still not knowing what was going on, Jon started to look for something to entertain himself to make the time pass faster, even if he was doing something it was taking forever and it had only been half an hour.
