Assumption

After finding out that it was Conan who solved the case, Shikami finally reluctantly said goodbye to Ran, because he had to pack up his suitcase and find a job, after all, he couldn't sit still and do nothing.

Surprisingly Ran offered to help him pack his bags and Conan, jealous and worried that Shikami might do something to Ran, decided to follow them, but to no avail.

Because Ran glared at him and simply said "No, you have to go do your homework and you don't have time" and with those words, Conan had to give up

And meanwhile, Kogoro who was still sleeping from the effects of the needle's anesthesia, would only sleep comfortably for the next 9 or 10 hours.

So on the fourth floor of the house, Ran Mouri could be seen helping tidy up Shikami's things, while occasionally looking at him secretly, not knowing that he was being watched

" So Ran. From what you said before, Shinichi seems to have disappeared into thin air? " Shikami asked remembering the previous scene

Ran, who was putting some clothes from the suitcase in the drawer, stopped and after a few moments said in an acid tone "yes, he disappeared without telling me"

Hearing her sour voice, it was very clear that she was angry and even offended by Shinichi's behavior, but you could also see that she was very worried.

And seeing her in this state, Shikami looked at her with concern and asked "if you want, I can see if something happened to him or where he might be currently... I have some contacts he got over the years"

At first she saw that Ran seemed unconvinced, but was reassured that she had connections. But in the end he wasn't very credible and so he was ignored by her.

Shikami feeling ignored, felt sad and so took out his cell phone and dialed a number and then waited for the other party to answer. And Ran who saw everything he was doing, was just perplexed, but just when she was about to ask who was calling, she heard the cell phone answering

"What's going on?. Do you need something from me?" the pleasant voice of a girl could be heard, and for this Ran, was immediately intrigued and unconsciously also annoyed.

" Everclear, I have a task for you. You must find me where a boy named Shinichi Kudo is currently located, then send me the file regarding his last location and what may have happened to him.

Oh, now that I think about it, you don't know it yet, but I'm in Japan now so I can't come visit you like I used to, so you'll have to come to me"

Then in an offended but kind voice, Everclear said "ok, ok. But when we meet again you will have to fulfill my wishes, or I will never speak to you again" so without waiting for his response, she ended the call because she was annoyed that his boss had left him in America without telling him anything about his departure to Japan.

Ran who had heard their conversation and especially the last part, immediately blushed and looked at Shikami, as if there was a scum in front of her and not her childhood friend.

Then with his voice low and disgusted, he said, "I didn't know you had found a girlfriend, Congratulations. But I really didn't expect you to be so bold as to do those things to her."

Clearly Ran had misunderstood something, so Shikami quickly explained, as he grabbed her shoulders, why he saw her walking away. But as soon as he put his hand on her shoulder, she took his hand and with a karate move, knocked him out.

Ran who made an involuntary move, was immediately worried about her health, after all she knew her strength very well, but she only saw Shikami getting up as if nothing had happened, and then calmly saying

"Ran, my friend was talking about food and how I'll have to pay for her lunch for a week, and she wasn't referring to the other thing. So don't get me wrong, because she always uses those terms that can be misunderstood"

Ran who heard his words, immediately blushed, because she knew that only she had imagined all sorts of scenes between Shikami and the girl named Everclear, which was also a name of alcoholic.

Deeply embarrassed, without saying anything she ran away from the fourth floor and locked herself in her room, while she began to think about how stupid she was for misunderstanding her childhood friend.

After Ran left, Shikami received a call, and so he answered it without thinking too much.

" Spyritus, I searched the archive and couldn't find any information about Shinichi Kudo, he seems to have disappeared from circulation. But I also found something very interesting.

Do you know that since he disappeared, a child named Conan Edogawa appeared, and if I'm not mistaken the name and surname come from Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo"

Everclear looked very surprised, but to Shikami who knew her very well, she was anything but surprised and there was no denying that even he himself had gotten to the name part, but he never expected that Conan would appear just when the his friend Shinichi had disappeared.

With a smile, he ended the call and finished packing his bags in his room, and then went to the police station which will perhaps be his future work office.

After leaving home, Shikami opened the door of an SSC TUATARA, and entered it before starting the engine and driving off at full speed. Passers-by were shocked to see that car parked at the police station.

A policewoman from the traffic control division who had just parked was immediately attracted by the car and its driver who was a real piece of cool, in her eyes.

So getting out, he approached and gently knocked on the window, he introduced himself with a smile "Hi handsome boy, my name is Yumi Miyamoto and I'm from the traffic division. If you want I can take you inside to show you around"

Shikami who did not expect the arrival of a policewoman, looked at her with interest and with a smile replied kindly, thus making Yumi Miyamoto's heart flutter "thank you miss, I gladly accept your proposal"

So getting out under Yumi's enchanted gaze, he closed the car and then looked at her to ask her to be his guide.

And so he managed to enter the police station, while some officers were enchanted by his beautiful face and above all his elegant demeanor. But suddenly the arrival of a short man with a hat and mustache could be seen.

The man looked at Yumi and Shikami, he said in a questioning tone " agent Yumi, what are you doing?"

He was clearly perplexed, after all it was forbidden to bring a civilian into the police facility, but when Yumi didn't know how to respond, Shikami said "sorry, I asked you to let me in. I wanted to apply to join the crimes and investigations department.

I don't know if it's possible, but these are my exams at the police academy."

Shikami intervened and taking out a file folder, showed it to Inspector Juzo Megure, while he took it with some surprise and began to check it.

Meanwhile, Yumi Miyamoto was grateful to Shikamj for saving her, so she blew him a flying kiss and winked, but then she heard the surprised voice of her boss Megure.

"w-what!. You were admitted to the academy with full faces and then you demonstrated a deductive ability, equal to or superior to veteran detectives, too bad you didn't join the department, because you were young, but now that you're 18, you don't there are obstacles.

Even if someone tells you that you are too young, don't listen to them and tell me their name and I will fire them immediately"

Inspector Megure was so happy that he immediately gave the badge to Shikami as he led him inside to introduce their newest member of the force.

Under everyone's surprised gaze, Inspector Megure said "to all the officers, this is our new companion, his name is Shikami and he is 18 years old. Even though he is young, he is very good in all fields and that's why I hired him, as his skills are very useful, even though he is still young.

Ok, finished with the introductions, Shikami will be joined by agent Miwako Sato " so under everyone's disconcerted eyes, Shikami smiled and then waved to everyone

And as for Miwako Sato, she was now busy with a case, and for this reason she will be joined by Yumi Miyamoto for now, but that is until her return.

Shikami was truly surprised at how easily he had managed to get in as a police employee, especially since he was very young. So after greetings between people, Yumi Miyamoto took him by the hand and then took him to the parking lot under the fiery eyes of some new fan girls.

On the other hand, even if there was an age difference between the women of 10 or 20 years, in the end you couldn't stop them from loving what was beautiful.

After they left, Yumi looked at Shikami with a burning gaze and then said "new work colleague, since we are future partners why don't you let me try that hot sports car of yours?"

Every word he said, was said with a lot of passion, as he looked at Shikami's car and completely ignored him.

But he didn't take it and smiling, he took out a bunch of keys and threw them to Yumi who happily took them and then headed to the car, without looking at him anymore. By now it was clear how much the car was worth to her, compared to him.
