6 Sunlight Scripture

Gazef and his men screamed in a heated fury as they neared their enemies, angels were summoned by the mages before them.

'So it wasn't the Baharuth Empire, but the Theocracy huh.'

His men on horseback crashed against the angels, cries of paying could be heard all around him.

Gazef was knocked off of his horse by an angel, some of his men tried to help him get up, but they were soon enough distracted by other angels.

Gazef turned to the angel which knocked him off his horse and tensed his muscles which held his greatsword.

He slammed it into the angel's side, going about halfway through before pulling it back a bit and slamming into the angel again.

The angel was sent crashing into the ground from the impact, but it rose into the sky again, its metallic shell glittering as the falling sun reflected off of it.

More angels flooded towards Gazef, and so he activated one of his martial arts.

[Six Fold Slash of Light!]

His sword glowed with red energy as he jumped into the air, his sword obliterating six angels in one smooth motion.

"Ooh! That sir Gazef for you! We can win this! FIGHT ON!" The soldiers could all see the impressive display of strength from Gazef, with their morale strengthened by this feat, they re-doubled their efforts to kill the angels.

However, they remembered the plan, so, as they broke through the angel lines, they fled one by one, funneling outward.

"Focus your attacks on the head warrior!" Nigun ordered his troops, the others do not matter, but Gazef must die.

Tens of angels descended on him, so Gazef spun in a circle with his greatsword, activating another one of his martial arts.

[Instant Counter]!

The angels around him disappeared into dust, earning the respect of the Theocracy summoners, but even this much wouldn't be enough.

They reached their hands out as more angels were summoned, creating a never-ending horde that kept charging at Gazef.

"Damn, anything goes with magic huh?" Gazef complained but continued fighting.

He realized that this was going nowhere, he must kill the commander or there is no hope left for him, so, as his eyes locked with Nigun's, he charged.

But it was futile, even as he activated martial art after martial art, forging a path of blood and sweat toward Nigun and the other summoners, he was constantly getting attacked from all directions.

Now the tired Gazef, with sweat pouring down his forehead, locked eyes with Nigun again.

"A most impressive display Gazef Stronoff, as a reward for your efforts, if you lay down your sword now, I will give you a merciful death."

"Hahaha! I will never surrender to bastards like you who dare to threaten this kingdom!"

"Hmph, fine, we will burn that village behind you to the ground as well then!"

"Ha! Listen carefully, in that village there are two people far stronger than you or I can imagine."

Nigun scrunched up his brows in displeasure, but as he was about to taunt Gazef more for his stupidity, her heard loud shouting behind him.

Gazef's men had come back for him.

"Haha, you are fools! I told you men to retreat!" Gazef spoke with a big proud grin on his face. "Truly, you are men I can be proud of."

The soldiers teamed up against the various angels, trying to bring them down with the swords, but the angels proved too formidable.

Gazef looked around in a slight panic, his men were dying fast, but the chaos now gave him a second shot at rushing down Nigun.

Even as his body screamed with exhaustion and his muscles twitched, Gazef ran with all his might towards Nigun, cutting down everything in his way.

As Gazef reached Nigun however, Nigun shouted out, a bit of fear in his voice: "Principality of Observation, come to my aid and crush the non-believers!"

Behind Nigun, a large metallic-looking angel appeared, two immense brilliant white wings stretched from its back, and a large mace could be seen in one of its hands.

The weapon came down, and just as Gazef realized he was out of options, he heard a voice in his head.

"It looks like it's time to switch." It was a deep voice he recognized even in his tired state.

The next second, he was in a building with the other villagers, each one looking at him with surprise.

"What happened...?" He questioned, completely confused.

"We don't know, master Gown was here a second ago, and then you appeared in his place!"

Gazef connected the dots in his mind and took out the small brown item the caster gave him before he left.

"I see..." and so, he passed out, falling onto the wooden floor.

None of Gazef's men were still awake now, all either dead or unconscious, but that was not as important to Nigun.

Principality of Observation slammed down with its weapon but hit only thin air as a Gazef disappeared.

"WHAT?!" Nigun shouted with anger.

"Hello, people of the Slane Theocracy," Ainz spoke, his voice traveling with ease across the dead silent plain.

Thoth stood next to him in his normal form, he didn't want to scare these people and take the thunder away from Ainz, no, watching him do his thing was a lot more fun.

"Who are you? Where is Gazef?" Nigun questioned, his voice bordering on angry but not quite there yet.

"My name is Ainz Ooal Gown, next to me is Thoth, and you don't need to worry about Gazef Stronoff, he is the least of your concerns now." Ainz continued, ignoring Nigus's angry expression: "You see, I spent a lot of time and effort on that village, and now you come along and claim you wish to kill all of them, I cannot imagine anything more disrespectful."

"I see, so you came to beg for your life or the life of the villagers?" Nigun spat, insulting the overlord.

Thoth straightened his suit and styled his hair a bit, he wanted to look good for this part.

"You have some balls don't you?" The overlord allowed a fraction of his power to seep into his words, causing Nigun to feel a shiver go up his spine.

"I spent my own time and resources to save those people, and you think you can just trample all over them? Who do you think you are??" Ainz's tone was heavy, heaven enough for the summoners to feel a bit of fear.

Nigun, in his blissful ignorance, ordered an attack on Ainz will all of the angels.

Ainz merely grabbed the first two to approach him and slammed them into the ground, causing particles to flow upwards as the angels disintegrated.

"W-What?" Nigun said, now realizing what he had gotten himself into.

"[High Tier Physical Nulification], it makes me invulnerable to all weak attacks, your angels weren't even capable of moving me."

"S-Silence! Everyone attack him at once!" Nigun shouted another order and all the angels responded immediately, Ainz simply sighed, a bit bored.

"[Negative Burst]!" He shouted out for all to hear as a wave of undead energy washed over everyone present, destroying the angels in an instant.

The summoners were now well and truly shaken, what kind of person did they piss off?

Murmurs of fear and shock could be heard through the ranks, but Nigun quickly took control again.

"Silence! Attack him with all the magic you have!!" Nigun was screeching at this point, just as scared if not more than his troops.

Tens of spells rained down upon Ainz, but none managed to even scratch him, hell, even if his level was halved, he could easily escape and dodge such pathetic "spells."

"All of those are YGGDRASIL spells, and those angels are also from YGGDASIL..." Ainz muttered to himself, a bit of a habit he formed to cope with the loneliness he felt when playing alone.

"WHO TAUGHT YOU THAT MAGIC?!" He shouted, making the enemies shriek in fear, their spells stopped raining down in an instant.

"S-Sir Nigun, we can't even scratch him, what do we do?!"

"Have no fear! Principality of Observation, smite him!"

The angel moved in response, it moved slowly, and after what felt like an eternity, it raised its mace above its head and slammed it down, Ainz caught it in one hand, not even trying.

'Fucking hell Ainz is cool.' Thoth quietly thought to himself.

"My, my, I guess I should fight back..." Ainz sounded very bored, like he felt silly being a part of this charade.

He pointed a skeletal finger at the angel and a [Hell Flame] appeared, it looked weak to the untrained eye, but as it touched the angel, it was reduced to ashes in an instant.

"I-IMPOSSIBLE!" Nigun shouted, his men echoing the same thought.

I felt nothing seeing their faces contorted in fear and terror, strange, but I suppose it's just a part of the package.

"Correction, anything is possible," Ainz spoke.

"F-FINE! You have left me no choice, I shall summon the ultimate Angel!" Nigun pulled out a brilliant glowing crystal-like item, its main use being containing powerful monsters.

"Judging by the glow, it could contain a high-ranked Angel, Thoth, protect me, if they manage to summon anything above level 80 we will have to get serious.

"Understood Lord Ainz." I summoned my spear and prepared just in case, causing the summoners to murmur again.

"COME DOMINION AUTHORITY!"

Ah, this part didn't change, there is nothing to worry about then.

An angel far grander than the previous one appeared, its four large wings growing out of its back, it wears robes and holds a large staff in its hands.

"HAHAHA! WITNESS THE POWER BEYOND HUMAN LIMITS!!!" Nigun screamed like a madman, half threatening Ainz and half reassuring himself he wouldn't die here.

Ainz put his hand on his forehead and shook his head. "I'm speechless..." He spoke in a disappointed tone, though Nigun, in his delusion, probably took this as a good sign.

"SCARED ARE WE?! I DON'T BLAME YOU!" He continued to yell.

"This is stupid." Ainz sighed, earning a confused blink from Nigun, whose body language shrunk again from its formerly confident self to absolute fear.

"W-What...?" Nigun barely managed to get the question out, though Ainz and Thoth still heard it easily.

"I was on guard against such childs play, I apologize Thoth, I made you get your weapon out for nothing." He turned to Thoth who waved it off, "It's alright Lord Ainz, better be careful when dealing with the unknown."

"Umu," He turned back to Nigun, who pointed a shaky finger and shouted in disbelief, D-Dominion Authority! SMITE THEM!!" And so the angel did as commanded, this staff turned into small blacks which came together to form what looked like a beam of plasma, and then, from the sky, a beam of holy energy struck Ainz.

"HAHA! So this is what it feels like to take damage, this is pain!" Ainz shouted, seemingly satisfied with the experience, Nigun's jaw meanwhile looked like it couldn't take much more opening without dislocating permanently.

After a few seconds of laughing in the beam, Ainz spoke again after it disappeared.

"My turn now." He pointed a finger at the angel and activated a spell.

"[Black Hole]." The angel was sucked into the black sphere as all the light in the sky disappeared, turning it into night instantly.

"W-What are you...?" Nigun looked completely defeated, his spirit all but gone.

"A good question! I am your doom, I am AINZ OOAL GOWN!" As Ainz said his name with pride and joy, a craking sound could be heard, Nigun looked confused, until Ainz enlightened him.

"Seems like someone was spying on you, luckily, my anti scrying magic activated, so they barely saw anything"

"My country was spying on me...?"

"Now, lets get this over with."

"W-WAIT Sir, NO, MASTER AINZ! Please spare u- no, just me please spare me! I will be useful I swear!!"

Nigun's men gasped in shock, their leader abandoned them almost immediately!

"Haha, there is a bit of a misunderstanding here," Thoth finally spoke up, done with this event, "How could an ant help a giant? You are worthless, and to top it off, you are scum."

"[Judgment]." A skill that allows the user to see the past crimes of the target, for each "sin" they would take psychic damage.

Nigun's head imploded instantly, his skull making a satisfying crunch.

Ainz spoke next, "Deal with the rest for us." and so, from the shadows, the Eight Edge Assasins dragged the summoners to the ground.

Ainz cast a large-scale teleportation spell, sending them all back to Nazarick.

The two of us teleported back to the village, healing Gazef and ensuring the villagers were all safe.

Everything turned out to be fine, and before we left, I recommended to Ainz that he give them some goblin horns as a way to remember them and as a fail-save.

He agreed and gave the items over, in his eyes, they were worthless anyways.

And so, after this short field trip, we finally returned to Nazarick.
