18 POV's and Revival

Albedo couldn't believe what she was seeing, the supreme one was losing, fast.

Cocytus said the Supreme One must have a plan, that something was getting done here, but Albedo couldn't see it, and Demiurge also couldn't from the way his fingers were tapping against his thigh.

The fact the intelligent demon is losing his composure over this shows just how desperate things have gotten, Lord Ainz's skull cracked more and more, and he tried to pull out those strange objects at his waist, but Thoth would never let him get a hold of them.

Albedo was worried, of course, she would be, but like everyone else, she was hesitant to intervene, they were commanded to intervene only at the last moment, up to that, Ainz wanted to handle things himself.

So she dutifully waited, praying that he would come out on top.

'Lord Ainz, please, don't die!' She clasped her hands together in front of her chest, praying for his success.

Shalltear didn't wait however, her mind was freer now, and it could see the direction things were heading.

Lord Ainz would be dead before anyone could intervene if they waited until the last moment, she would have to act now, even if it went against his orders.

Her mind quaked at the thought of disobeying a supreme being, but she pushed through it, this was for Lord Ainz's own good, she had no choice.

Shalltear rushed forward, everyone reacted slowly since they were so focused on the battle.

Shalltear, with her great strength, ripped the ring away from Albedo and equipped it.

"Wha-!?" She could see Albedo beginning to scream a justified question at her, but Shalltear disappeared before she could hear the rest of it.

She teleported to the outside of Nazarick, and from there she teleported to Ainz.

Her mind was filled with anxiety and worry, if something happened to Lord Ainz, it would be entirely her fault, and no one would forgive her. She would probably simply end it all if her lord died because of her stupidity.

As she teleported, she encountered a barrier, something prevented her from teleporting closer, she merely punched it a few times until it crumbled like glass and kept going.

She appeared a few meters away as Thoth was about to land the finishing blow, she rushed forward, desperation giving her additional strength.

'NO! I won't let Lord Ainz die because of my mistakes!' her mind cried out internally in desperation, Thoth would land the spell before she could get there, but suddenly, Thoth turned around in instinctive fear, his eyes wide.

Thanks to that, Shalltear managed to get between them just in time, and she took the hit.

It hurt like hell, but it was a small price to pay, yes, she was only paying for her mistakes with this pain.

She smiled at Lord Ainz and apologized for the delay, which he dismissed and thanked her.

Normally, a simple word of thanks would have made her climax, or nearly do so, but now, she didn't feel that, she just felt happy, like a child who was praised by their father.

She gave a sweet smile and turned to Thoth, who eyed her with caution.

She ignored his words, this wasn't him after all, and hence none of his words should be taken seriously.

She rushed at him, and he tried to flee in response, but Lord Ainz cut him off with a [wall of skeletons], allowing Shalltear to grab him.

She dragged him to the ground, his lower stats made it trivially easy for the vampire.

He threw many spells at her, but none of them managed to move her, she pinned him to the ground and bit into his neck.

It was her only natural weapon that was free at the moment, and also, she was certainly curious how Angel blood tasted.

It didn't disappoint, compared to all the other blood she had drank in her life, it stood at the absolute peak of taste.

Her mind was consumed by the desire for more, she didn't even notice when Thoth stopped resisting and simply accepted his fate.

While this was happening, all of the Guardians were already teleporting or were nearly outside Nazarick and ready to teleport, pretty much all of Nazarick was on the move now, each Guardian desperate to protect Lord Ainz.

They easily traveled to the location of the battle, Albedo was first to arrive.

Her mind was in chaos, her slow reaction nearly killed her beloved! She hated to admit it but if Shalltear didn't act, Lord Ainz would be dead, she owed the vampire Loli one now.

She rushed at Lord Ainz, careful not to harm him with her velocity, she slowed down as she got close.

"Lord Ainz!" She shouted as she hugged the man she loved.

Ainz, who was far too weak to care about dodging, simply accepted the tear-filled hug.

"I-I thought I would lose you-!" Her voice cracked and her eyes flooded with tears.

"It's alright Albedo, I'm still here." Ainz patted the succubus's back, trying to calm her down.

The other Guardians rushed forward, all surrounding Lord Ainz, the eight edge assassins swarmed the area, ensuring Lord Ainz, in his vulnerable state, was fully protected from all angles.

"Are you alright Lord Ainz?!" Demiurge was one of the most worried, and he would certainly make Albedo pay for her stupidity for allowing this to happen.

Shalltear stood up, Thoth now disappearing into white particles, he was dead.

She gulped the last mouthful of divine blood, a bit sad there wasn't more, and she looked at everyone.

"Shalltear! Excellent work, you've redeemed yourself!" Demiurge praised Shalltear, yes, this whole escapade was her fault, but she saved Lord Ainz, she proved herself when it mattered.

Cocytus agreed, mist coming out of his nostrils.

"Um, thank you, but where is Aura and Mare?" Shalltear cocked her hand in confusion.

Everyone looked around. Where are those two?

Ainz stood up, Albedo still clung to him, afraid her beloved might disappear any second.

"Everyone! I shall return to Nazarick, Shalltear, Demiurge, and Cocytus, search for the siblings!"

"Yes!" Everyone kneeled as Ainz and Albedo disappeared, and the rest of the guardians followed suit.

Aura and Mare had been observing the battle from a vantage point, so they saw more than the others, to be specific, they saw someone.

As the battle was nearing its end and Aura was about to teleport over to interfere, she noticed a creature in white armor with floating swords make some movements, Shalltear, who was teleporting over, couldn't teleport in now, realizing this, Aura immediately activated her hunter ability, making Thoth freeze in fear just in time for Shalltear to make it despite the delay.

"Mare, that someone tried to kill Lord Ainz." Aura's voice had an undercurrent of rage, her protective nature on full display again.

"W-What should we do?" Mare spoke, nervous as always.

Aura closed her fist in anger, "Nothing, it's too dangerous, Lord Ainz told us to be cautious, we can't risk our world items."

"O-Okay..."

The Platinum Dragon Lord was observing the battle since it began, he was most curious about these creatures, more specifically, he wanted to know who the players were.

Thoth was intelligent no doubt, but he also seemingly knew more than this Ainz person, in other words, Thoth might be a player, but Ainz wasn't ruled out either, he needed more information.

He noticed Thoth was about to kill Ainz, a fantastic development, if they weakened themselves, it would mean a lesser danger to this world.

As a precaution, he cast "[World Barrier]" a spell that would inhibit teleportation, but to his shock, it was almost immediately destroyed.

A small vampire girl appeared and saved Ainz, annoying, but he would have to live with it, however, as he thought this he suddenly felt a chill go up his spine.

He turned around, only to see nothing, but he wasn't foolish enough to stay any longer, and so he fled, mulling over the information he now had.

The twins then received a message from Demiurge.

"Where are you two?"

"On the vantage point, someone was watching the battle and tried to delay Shalltear with a teleportation-blocking spell, she punched through it, but it was a close one."

"I see, head back to Nazarick, we must adjust our plans."

"Okay."

The twins cast a [Gate] and teleported to Nazarick.

The four small angels could only sit in the desert in shock, the battle they just witnessed was something they hadn't seen in millennia, such raw unmatched power being thrown around with practiced ease, it was scary indeed.

"So... The Elder is dead...?" Bard asked, Protector shook his head, "No, They'll most likely revive the Elder, we should return to Nazarick, maybe they'll let us witness his rebirth."

And so the angels waited, with Bard sending a message to Albedo, asking for permission and for someone to pick them up.

Within Nazarick, Ainz sat on his throne, its power-boosting effects helped him recover faster, he also equipped his divine tier items and staff of Ainz Ooal Gown.

His skull mended together quickly now, and he messaged Pandora's Actor to gather all the gold needed to revive Thoth and to come to the Throne room, he got a very eccentric "Yes!" in response.

God, why did he make something to cringe?

"Albedo, get all of the Guardians here, just in case Thoth is still not loyal after revival."

"Of course Lord Ainz, everyone is already on their way. Also, those four pets Thoth took in want to be present, should I allow them?"

"...I don't see a reason why not to allow them in as well, excellent work as always." Albedo suppressed her urge to grin wildly and gave a smile at the praise.

Pandora's actor arrived quickly with mountains of gold, all of which would be spent reviving Thoth, a sacrifice that was worth it, but this was no doubt an immense loss for Nazarick.

"Lord Ainz!" Pandora's Actor saluted like a good soldier, "I've heard of what happened, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, we shall wait for everyone else before we begin the revival."

"Understood Mein Herrscher!" He raised his hand, but as it was nearing the 'danger zone,' Ainz stopped him.

Ainz suppressed the urge to sigh, he couldn't help but wish his emotional suppression would be more sensitive sometimes, specifically, whenever Pandora's Actor was around.

The Guardians arrived soon, all of them wearing armor and ready for battle.

"Lord Ainz, if Thoth is still controlled after his revival, please allow us to take care of him, you already nearly lost your life because of our incompetence." Demiurge requested, earning nods of approval from everyone.

"Very well, now," Ainz scanned the room one last time, "let us begin!" Ainz raised his hands into the air, and in response, all the Guardians got into their combat-ready stances, with each drawing their weapons and preparing spells.

"Revive Thoth!" Ainz shouted in a commanding tone at the air, in response, the gold in the room began to melt and form into a liquid.

All of the golden liquid coalesced into the form of a young boy, and his skin color returned as hair grew from his head, he had no clothes, so Ainz grabbed a comfortable sheet from his inventory and threw it at him.

Thoth grabbed his head, he felt like he had a hundred shots yesterday and the migraine was killing him.

He slowly rose, and as he opened his eyes everyone sighed in relief.

His eyes were white, with his pupils also being silvery white.

Thoth looked around, a bit confused, until he recalled exactly where he was and what had happened.

Last he remembered he saved Shalltear from being controlled, right, in that case, Ainz probably killed him with less trouble than he had with Shalltear, in that case, things went according to plan.

He couldn't remember the fight itself though, his head throbbed each time he tried.

"Albedo, is Thoth loyal?"

"Yes, all is normal again."

Everyone lowered their weapons, and the four little angels immediately rushed at Thoth and hugged him, or rather, they tried to, their small size made it effectively impossible to fully hug someone who was so much bigger than them.

Thoth quickly patted them on the head.

"Lord Ainz, I'm sorry if I hurt you during the fight." Thoth kneeled.

"You don't remember the fight?" Ainz asked, Thoth shook his head in response.

"I see, well if it wasn't for Shalltear, I would have been killed." Thoth froze, he didn't expect that.

"But that should be impossible, with my stats lowered, you should have won with ease."

"Indeed, however, you completely predicted my strategy and countered me at every opportunity, effectively controlling the flow of battle the entire time."

"I apologize for the suffering I inflicted upon you, Lord Ainz," Thoth kneeled a bit deeper.

'Of course, I forgot that with me knowing exactly how Ainz would fight, and with my advanced knowledge about which spells he would cast and which spells he probably wouldn't cast, I could predict his moves and keep the battle in my favor, I'm stupid!' Thoth berated himself in his mind, if something serious happened to Ainz, it would be a catastrophe.

"It's fine, this was a fantastic learning experience for everyone here no doubt, and another reminder of why we must always be cautious." Ainz stood up and everyone kneeled in response, "My Guardians! Remember, we aren't untouchable, and caution is important!"

"Yes!" everyone shouted in response.

Thoth, feeling his wings itch for freedom, decided to let them take a breather.

He froze in surprise when he saw his pitch-black wings, his feathers no longer in their brilliant white form.

"...Well shit," Thoth swore.
