20 Chapter 19

As I control my mana to flow into the antennas my perception starts to change.

Many different colors with different shades start to appear and nearly blind me.

With this test failing I retract the normal mana and only leave the spiritual mana.

The colors start to disappear, and only scarce outlines of animals remain.

I change my course a little and move into the direction of an outline that looks like a horned rabbit.

My two-meter-high form bursts through the bushes and the rabbit appears in front of my eyes.

At this short distance I notice ball of color inside the head of the rabbit, it changed color form green to dark blue as soon as it laid eyes on me.

This change gives me the impression that this little ball of color indicates the emotions of a being.

Without reducing my speed, I grab the head o the little thing and throw it inside my mouth where I devour it within seconds.

Finished with my tests I concentrate my buffed antennas behind me in hopes to locate the hidden elve.

To my relive I spot an humanoid outline around fifty meters behind me following while keeping the distance at all time the same.

With his location revealed I try something else and throw small splashes of spiritual mana on different locations behind me.

The chosen places are the ones where I predicted the elve to move through.

My idea is to mark him with some of the spiritual mana as I can see or sense spiritual bodies of living things, I conclude that I also can sense my own spiritual mana.

The chase goes on till I finally feel how one of my spiritual marks starts to move.

I look back and compare the movement of the mark with the outline of the elve.

Had I lips they would curl upward into a wide grin.

With his location completely revealed I dig my feet's into the ground and change my direction.

My charge is aimed around twenty meters next to the now still elve, I don't want him to know that I can sense him too soon.

Arriving twenty meters next to him I snap around my head and spit out burning liquid at his location.

Realizing that he has been found the elve jumps from his old position still in stealth and completely soundless.

As soon as he leaves the ground, I control my mana to form the lightning spell and fire it at where I predict his chest would be.

The spell is weak but serves as a fast distraction.

A transparent barrier makes an entree as the lightning hits and reveals the surprised face of the elve as the lightning disperse into nothing.

I narrow my eyes and kick of the ground with enough force to leave an imprint of a few centimeters deep.

The elve reacts fast and draws a short sword from his back.

He swings it down on my incoming face, an eerie green glow permanents the edge of the blade indicating that it isn't a normal weapon.

Carefully I dig my limbs into the ground and twist my body in a way that transfers all my gained momentum into my tail that now shoots forward.

Startled by my sudden maneuver the elve changes from an offensive stance into a defensive.

As the blade and my tail collide the elve gets thrown a good four meters back while my bone blade gets chipped at the edge.

The elve immediately stands up after his hard landing and looks shocked at me.

His eyes are wide and clear fear reflects in them, but then he notices the chipped of part on my tail and determination makes its way into them.

I think he believes that he can win this as he already managed to damage my seemingly primary weapon.

The thought amuses me, and I bring my chipped blade in front o my face, there it heals in an instant.

The determination evaporates from the eyes of the elve and he turns around to run.

I take this chance and spit out a new ball of burning liquid followed by a lightning.

With my lesson learned I aim the lightning bolt into the ground instead on him directly.

It causes a small explosion und his feet that throws him of balance, giving the burning liquid enough time to land on the transparent shield.

Slowly it starts to burn its way through the barrier if the terrified scream is anything to go by.

I walk up to the elve that is rolling on the ground trying to get the liquid of his body and stab my tail into his head killing him in an instant.

Then I start to devour him, after finishing with the meal I take a long look at the sword with the eerie green edge.

For some reason I want to test again if I can gain something by eating it even thought my reason tells me that it won't work.
