2 Chapter 2

"Kai, good luck!"

"Whatever happens, always think forward."

Those are encouragement coming from both my parents. They are cheering for me since today is the day for the awakening test. And they wish the best for me whatever happens.

Whether I will awaken as a superhuman today or not, they will support me. But for me, it's more like they are totally letting me do whatever I want as they have given up thinking too much about me and just want to focus on my sister's growth instead of my growth.

Maybe because I'm a reincarnator. They don't know it, but I've always show them something that is weird for my age to do. So they just gave up on me knowing that I will be completely fine no matter what happens with my own weird way of thinking.

I will take the test at the school. It should be on break today since we have the awakening test but because my sister is in the student council, she has to go there and help managing the huge amount of people that will take the test.

It won't just be all the third-year students from my school. But also older people who want to awaken their class.

For the third-year high school students or those whose 18th birthday is this year, they are allowed to take the test for free. But for other people, they have to pay.

They have failed in the awakening test previously. But they are still going to take the test again so they can be superhumans.

Even if they don't want to be Heroes, just by awakening your class will help you a lot in your life. Warrior class will let you have more power in your daily life. And magician class will let you have more convenience in your life if you learn convenience magic. So even those who don't want to be a Hero will still want to awaken their class.

Then there's also those who are rich that can get themselves tested even when it's not the awakening test day like today. They pay a lot to awaken their class early or take the test as many times as they possibly can.

Though I hope that I can awaken my class right away today. I don't want to have to pay the next time I do it.

Leaving the house, I enter the car and wait for my sister, Reina, to enter the passenger seat.

It's our parents' naming sense. They gave me the name Kaiser from Emperor. And my sister got the name Reina from Queen.

It seems like most parents started to read dictionary for the first time when their child was born. After that, the dictionary is left in the dust.

Parents and rappers perhaps. Rappers who write great lyrics for their songs. It's impossible to rhyme those words unless they finished reading dictionaries several times. Though for those rappers, I think their dictionaries are never been covered in dust.

…Not some weird rappers who just thought of some random words thinking they are cool.

The school doesn't have any parking area. And students are not allowed to bring their vehicles unless it's bicycle.

But that doesn't mean that I can't bring my car. I can just drive it and park my car on a parking space in front of a friend's shop.

I have a lot of friends. Most of them are adult. And this one opened a carwash service near the school. I asked him when I started high school if I can park there. And he allowed me.

So after parking there, I just need to walk for a few minutes before reaching school. It's convenient to have a lot of friends.

By the way, when I first started going to school, I rode a scooter instead of a car. And I didn't even have driving license.

But since last year my sister started attending the same school, we go to school together. So I decided to go with a car instead of a scooter. And I already have driving license.

We just go to school together. But when we return, it depends on Reina whether she can go home with me or not. If not, then she will just take the bus to go home. Or since she got her driving license, she's the one taking the car home when we don't return together.

Though today, Reina seems to be more nervous than me even though I'm the one who is going to take the test. So I made a small talk with her to calm her down as I drive.

Now, let's talk a bit more about this world while we're going to school.

This world has similar geography with my world. But there are several huge differences. 

Because there are some monsters that can destroy the landscape, it looks a bit different. Then there's magic as well that can change the landscape. Even the country I live in doesn't exist in my previous world.

According to history, the people in the past were running away to the sea because of monsters. And some powerful mages then decided to raise a land from the sea. Far from the mainland. South of India in this world. Not Sri Lanka. This is another different island from that country.

That island is now called Searise. Because they raised it from the sea. And it's now a country where I was born and live in.

Although I was a bit confused when I see the world map for the first time after learning geography I learned that the map is probably the exact replica as the map I knew in my past life.

Some countries are missing. Some lands existed where they shouldn't be. Once I recognized that, I thought that this world is the future of my previous world. But I can't tell if it's true or not. Because magic exists in this world. And even though the year is now 2049, it doesn't mean that it's a few decades after I died.

If history has been erased then it makes sense if monsters appeared in the future after I died. And a few thousand later, it became the start of the now known as Common Era.

And I don't really want to check whether this is the future of my previous world or not. I don't want to think too much about it. So I never really think much about it after learning it.

Though I know that some people in my previous world called the year as CE instead of AD. CE stands for Common Era. But it might be different than this world's Common Era.

Then our technology here. We use Magic Crystal as fuel and source of energy. It's clean so there's not much pollution in the world. I can even see the stars when I'm in the middle of a city. Though still not as much as when I'm in the countryside.

And to get Magic Crystal, there are two ways. Defeating monsters that will drop them or mine them.

When monsters are defeated, they will drop some items. From Magic Crystal, meat, weapons, and even some gold coins. Then the corpse will disappear on their own.

We use the gold coins as currency in this world. So we call the currency here Gol or just G. Though we can exchange the gold coins with paper money or just transfer them all into your bank account. At least that's what I heard.

Monsters came from this world from a dungeon. When dungeons haven't been cleared for a long time, the population of monsters inside the dungeon will continue to increase and they will leave the dungeon. That's called Dungeon Break.

That is why the job of Heroes is to clear dungeons. Why not just call them hunters, explorers, or adventurers? Because we need those Heroes to protect people from monster attack as well. 

There are people who misuse their power for crimes. They are called Villains. Since there are Villains, there are Heroes. At least that's what I imagined how the profession is called as Heroes instead of other things.

Back to how to mine Magic Crystal. There are a lot of resources inside a Dungeon. Inside Dungeons, sometimes you can be lucky and find Magic Crystal.

As for mining sites in real world, there are also few of them that are known. Maybe there are more and are being monopolized by some rich people. I don't know.

Oh, we have arrived. I parked the car and greet the owner of the shop before leaving with Reina to school.

"What? Still nervous about my awakening test? I'm the one who is taking it. You shouldn't be nervous," I said to the still nervous sister of mine.

"I'll try. I also have some jobs to do," Reina said.

"Just relax. Like Mom and Dad. They are really calm when they're sending me off, right?"

Soon after, we can see the school. And there are a lot of people in the school. Not just students there. But also adults who want to take the test.

"Good luck with your duty. I'll wait for you later so we can return home together," I said.

"Okay. Oh, and I'm allowed to have a break when you're taking the test to watch how it will go for you. Text me once you're about to take the test."

We then split up inside the building. She's going to do her own thing and I'm going to my class for the test. As a student here, I will take the test together with my classmates in the classroom instead of going to the gym building with the adults.

Well, which class will I get? I hope it's something good.
