Chapter 14. Sky rending wolf.

Carefully jumping around from tree to tree to avoid making any noise, Sam look around trying to find a safe place to spend the night, after searching for more than thirty minutes he finally spotted a cave-like structure, and decided to check it out.

Jumping down from the tree while paying attention to his surroundings, he quickly made his way to the cave while making sure to check his surroundings always, getting to the cave and looking in, all he sees is pure darkness, he couldn't see more than three meters in front of him.

Gritting his teeth and stealing his heart, he decided to head in and explore the cave structure, it was already getting dark outside and it would be too late to go look for another place to stay in. After walking into the cave he was immediately stunned by what he saw, rocks, to be more accurate, glowing blue rocks, hanging from the roof, stuck on the walls, lying on the floor, these rocks lit up the entire cave, making him wonder how he did not see the light from the outside in the first place.

Looking around the cave, the cave was not that big, probably the size of a one-bedroom apartment, Sam thought, looking carefully at every nook and cranny, making sure that there are no hidden dangers, he now felt relaxed, but then he thought of something, "I hope that no beast would wander in here while am asleep' he silently intoned.

Picking a spot at the end of the cave hidden behind some rocks, he lies down, preparing to sleep, just then he hears a soft growl, lifting his head quickly, he sees a massive wolf standing in front of the cave looking at him.

The wolf was very massive, standing on all four and still being a head taller than Sam, its claws and fangs gleamed in the dark due to the blue light, its red eyes giving it a fiendish look, the wolf was all black, and it was looking at Sam intently, swallowing the saliva in his mouth, he stands up and looks at the giant wolf in front of him not knowing what to do.

He looked at the wolf and the wolf looked back at him, this continued for almost ten minutes, till the wolf moved, it walked to the side of the cave, snorted to Sam, and lowered its head to sleep, Sam was shocked at the actions of the wolf, he was shocked motionless, he wanted to make a run for it, but the wolf was close to the cave exit.

Looking at the wolf, he contemplated whether he should risk his life and make a run for it or he should wait and see if the wolf would fall asleep, before he makes that attempt, cause the wolf not attacking him on sight didn't mean it won't attack him... Right. While contemplating, he heard the wolf whimpers, that's when he paid attention to the wolf and then he saw it, a big wound on its side, it looked like a claw injury from another beast, looking at it he thought "maybe I have a chance to kill it"

Meanwhile.....

"Hmmmmm, is that what I think it is," James says out loud to himself, as someone who got the memories of a supreme God, he knew what that wolf is. "The sky rending wolf" James muttered, "I thought that they were extinct, who knew that I would see one here," James says with excitement in his voice.

"This my believer truly has a high luck, huh, what is he going to do" James shouted when he sees Sam activate his thunder swords, slowly walking towards the wolf.

"This ***ker, he's going to kill something this important to his survival, no no no, I can't let that happen, I have to stop him"

"Time for another quest, thankfully giving quest doesn't take any divine power," James says while wiping off imaginary sweat.

Sam slowly walks towards the wolf lying on the floor, but stops in his tracks, looking at the floating board in front of him.

"Treat the wolf in front of you, raise him back to peak health, and as a reward, it will become your martial spirit"
