2 Chapter 1: Trash

Noise filled the main square. Just like it did every morning. People were yelling, cursing and throwing things at Sion.

" Go die trash! "

" You stink pig! "

" You aren't worth a single gold coin! "

...

Sion heard all of those before, but he is listening to them once again.

They were wrong though. He was worth something. Even though 6 Class humans are useless in every aspect beside being a battery, they are a- VERY good battery indeed.

" Yeah, yeah.. We Xioerttems don't even live that long so give me a break, idiots! " he said quietly.

Sion was walking towards the tower, in which he is daily tied to a chair and plugged with countless needles and pipes that drain his life energy. His energy is then applied in factories, blacksmiths or just wherever it was needed. He could spend all day here sometimes, returning late at night, and getting up early in the morning...

[ As if time stopped, Sion heard whispers from two ladies in gold dresses from the crowd ]

" Are you serious? Item of that rarity? So near Ravensborrow? " older one said

" Yes yes, my husband is a navy admiral and, well, they traced it falling all the way into Fairy forest, just outside Ravensborrow! " she explained

" But my dear, for an item of.." she leaned forward

" ..of double S tier rarity to appear here, d-do you know what could happen, we could get raided.. or worse-"

Crowd got too loud, eggs were hitting him in the head and he couldn't focus on the rest of the chat.

~A double S rarity? What does that even mean? They sound frustrated though...

He turned his head back, and looked at them.

Their faces were terrified, as if they seen a ghost. Something clicked in Sion then, a thought got into his mind.

[ He entered the tower ]

Several people gathered around him, they pulled him to a chair and tightly strapped him so he couldn't move.

" Can't you guys just- "

[ SLAP ]

Familiar pain spread over his face.

Guard from before stood next to him, staring him down with disgust on his face.

" I told you to stay quiet, trash" he said.

Sion kept his face down for several moments, he then looked up at him with grin on his face.

" You're first, don't forget that " Sion looked to the side.

Just when the guard was about to strike him down again, several people in scientific uniforms pushes him outside.. It started.

A needle after a needle, wire after a wire.. His energy was draining, and he felt it sharply, as if his entire body was scorched from the inside, for the next 15 hours..

Occasional scream from Sion filled the room, but nothing lasted long.. except the pain he felt, deep in his bones..

[ It was over, he was walking out of the tower ]

He didn't feel tired as he usually did, it was strange and maybe exactly that, triggered something..

It was like a switch, he didn't know why it happened, but it did. He started running.

At the time, he subconsciously knew what he was doing... if he is the one to find the SS tier item himself, his life will change, and so will many others.

Through mass of people, next to the guards he ran, he ran as fast as he could, and he wasn't tiring at all.. It appeared that, being 6th Class had some good in it after all.. while it does decrease strength and speed, it increases endurance and stamina.

He ran straight pass the guards at the gates of Inner walls. Some arrows flied next to him, barely dodging them as he wasn't very fast.

He stopped when he reached the border of Ravensborrow, he noticed his right sandal was gone. He took of the left one as well.

He calmed down, he slowed his heart beat, he wasn't tired but he was.. in a sort of panic, he noticed he feels very warm.

It was then when he felt a slight sting at his left shoulder. He reached back with his hand and he felt it.. An arrow.. He was shot, it wasn't energy infused, otherwise it would blew his arm off. And not just one, but second one was being stuck in his left side, piercing between his ribs.

Panic took over his body.

Blood leaked down his arm and body.. He pressed his teeth and tried to pull out the arrow from his shoulder, but it just broke into two.

He continued, he hoped reaching that item would save his life.. will he find it?

He didn't know, there was no time for that.

Panic, he felt it even more, he was losing too much blood since he was moving.

" This is just an arrow, not like this- " he didn't want to die from bleeding out, he was so close to the Fairy forest.

He tries to breath, but occasionally pain would take over his mind.

But it's not over yet, he can't let that happen. He clenched his fists and moved on.

[ Sion entered the Fairy forest ]

Not long after he entered, Sion collapsed.

Dragging himself on the ground, he only tried to get as further as possible.

He was a skinny boy, he didn't have much blood, his entire system was overwhelmed by blood loss. On top of that, he possesses way more energy than his body can withstand.

For the first time in his life he wanted to give up momentarily... but then-

[ FLASH ]

Something was there, he saw a hill in front of him, it went a little bit higher than the trees that surrounded it. Sion had to climb it, something flashed on the top.

It was his only way out of this, he had to take the chance.

He pulled up, and when he felt the pain, he pulled up harder.

He reached the top, and first thing that got into his mind wasn't the source of flashing, but the Ravensborrow.

It was miles and miles away from him. From the hill he stood on.

He was in this forest for couple of minutes, it isn't possible he dragged himself this far. He was.. stunned for a moment.

But then, he looked back... at the source of the light.
