204 Reggie's Invitation

Yuga watched as the two individuals taken away by Officer Jenny, thinking to himself, "Did I expose the Team Magma and the Team Aqua too much? I hope they weren't crushed by the League before they even had a chance to fully develop."

But then again, maybe it's better that they were stopped. The world was pretty good as it is, and there was no need for unnecessary trouble.

"Just who were those two? Why did you beat them up so badly?" Suddenly, the chattering voice of Chatot rang out, startling Yuga.

"Could you stop being so sneaky?" Yuga raised his hand and gave it a slap. "How come you dared to leave the Ecopark? Aren't you afraid of Unfezant?"

"Wh-what are you talking about? I've never been afraid of it!" Chatot retorted defensively, its tiny eyes darting around out of nervousness. "I stayed in the Ecopark not because I'm afraid. It's because Swellow needed my advice on how to romance. I had to give it some tips."

"Oh really? You're that considerate."

"Of course." Under Yuga's skeptical gaze, Chatot claimed, "It's rare to find a bird as caring as me."

"I'm telling you, you're about to become a father. Can't you be more reliable?" Yuga sighed and said.

"I'm not reliable, but aren't you reliable enough?" Chirpy Bird said indifferently.

"I might be reliable, but what's my relationship with your child?"

"Darling, don't say that! Given our relationship, my child is your child too."

Yuga was exasperated by its words and decided not to continue the conversation. He was about to leave when Chatot's voice called out again.

"Hey, hey, don't go! I haven't finished talking yet! I heard you're planning a trip? Take me with you!"

Yuga turned around and asked, "Is that why you came out today? Who told you I'm going on a trip?"

"Well, do I really need someone to tell me? Florges, Absol, they all know. Just listen casually, just listen casually." Chatot grinned mischievously.

"Are you eavesdropping on people's conversations?"

"What eavesdropping? Your words are so harsh. I just happened to overhear them, happened to." Chatot deliberately put on a serious face.

"All this just to avoid Unfezant?"

"What nonsense!" Chatot quickly flew over, trying to cover Yuga's mouth with its wings. "I just wanted to relax a bit, relax. How could I ever avoid the lovely Kitty-Chan? I took a peek at it over there." Chatot glanced in the direction of the weather Tree, relieved that Unfezant hadn't noticed them, and let out a sigh.

Yuga looked at it trying to lie with open eyes and had no words. "Taking you along is impossible. I don't want to be strung up and beaten by your spouse."

"Don't always mention my spouse. My beloved is you. For the sake of my deep love for you, take me with you!" Chatot pleaded pitifully.

"In that case, I'm even less inclined to take you. If I did, your spouse would think we're eloping, and if it found out, it might tear me apart!" Having said that, Yuga ignored Chatot and walked away.

Speaking of Yuga's upcoming trip, it's necessary to mention Reggie, who was in faraway the Sinnoh.

Recently, The Lily of the Valley Conference was going to be held in Sinnoh, and Reggie was participating in the competition. So, he extended an invitation to Yuga to come and watch his match.

If it were someone else's invitation, Yuga would have definitely declined. Traveling all the way to Sinnoh just to watch a match that had nothing to do with him wasn't worth it.

However, since Reggie was one of Yuga's two friends, he ultimately decided to accept the invitation and cheer for him.

Yuga knew that in the future, Reggie would inherit his grandfather's Day Care. Opportunities like participating in such a large-scale competition would be rare. Yuga hoped that Reggie wouldn't have any regrets.

The fact that Reggie invited Yuga to Sinnoh was known to Yuga's Florges, Absol, Chimecho, and Vivillon. However, he didn't expect even the nosy Chatot to find out about it.

But Yuga had no intention of taking Chatot along. The bumbling bird wouldn't be of any help, and it would just keep chattering all the time. Instead of carrying that burden, Yuga would rather take Eevee with him, who might even complete a mission.

Yuga had been getting along quite well with Eevee recently, but there were no signs of evolution yet.

Before setting off, Yuga gathered Audino and entrusted it with the prepared Small Gene Repair potions. He instructed Audino to administer the specified doses to the unhatched Pokémon eggs every day.

In addition to this, Yuga also shared the method of creating the Small Gene Repair potions with Audino. This was a precaution in case he used up all the potions and couldn't return in time. He would have to rely on Audino in such a situation.

For this trip to Sinnoh, Yuga didn't plan to bring along Audino, Great Flygon, or Linoone. Apart from his four main battling Pokémon and Eevee, Yuga decided to take along Ninetales, Houndoom, and Honchkrow.

These three Pokémon hadn't ventured out much since they started following Yuga. He wanted to give them the chance to relax and experience the world beyond the confines of their daily lives.

As for Honchkrow's pursuer, Swellow, Yuga didn't intend to bring it. Swellow was too clingy to Honchkrow and Yuga thought it was best to give it some space.

Yuga didn't mind Swellow pursuing Honchkrow, but being overly clingy wasn't ideal. Sometimes, creating a bit of distance could enhance the attraction.

Currently, Audino held the role of manager in the Day Care. The Day Care relied heavily on it for its operations. On the other hand, Linoone acted as a bridge of communication between the Ecopark and the rest of the Day Care's members.

Hence, Yuga had to give up the idea of bringing these two key figures along.

As for Great Flygon, it preferred to stay at home. It felt that basking in the sun and sleeping were the most blissful activities. It preferred not to roam around unnecessarily, especially if that bothersome Greninja was around.

Nevertheless, after careful consideration, Yuga decided to bring along Snorlax. Having a formidable Pokémon by his side provided a sense of security.

In the end, when Yuga counted, he realized he was bringing quite a number of Pokémon—nine in total. He was fortunate not to be a newly registered trainer under the League, as those trainers couldn't carry more than six Pokémon at a time within the first two years of their training career.

The League established this rule to ensure that novice trainers, lacking sufficient experience, wouldn't struggle to care for multiple Pokémon simultaneously.

However, for independent trainers, the rules were different. Even if you became a trainer just yesterday, you could possess a hundred Pokémon, and the League wouldn't intervene.
