993 New Potion

"Mr. Gillruta? The one from the Rite family?"

Hearing this name, Yuga paused for a moment, involuntarily recalling Milolovide previous visit to Verdanturf Town. If he remember it correctly this Gillruta was his elder brother.

But since it's him, it's not surprising that he's interested in purchasing Yuga's batch of treasures.

This person is not only the head of the Rite family but also a world-renowned collector, extremely wealthy. He's often seen in reports on television and the internet, making substantial bids at various auctions.

"Yes, it's him. I showed him the photos you sent me, and he expressed great interest in that batch of treasures," Steven joyfully said.

Knowing that there's a buyer for his items, Yuga was equally delighted. "Thank you. You've been a great help."

Steven humbly replied, "I didn't have to do much, to be honest. I just released the information about this batch of treasures, and he contacted me on his own."

"Oh, by the way, when are you available? They want to schedule a meeting to inspect the quality of the treasures," Steven continued.

Yuga thought for a moment and replied, "I'm flexible with my schedule. Let them decide."

Steven readily agreed, "Great, I'll contact them right away and arrange a time."

Afterward, they exchanged a few more words and hung up.

After ending the call with Steven, Yuga started assisting Suzuki Koen in attending to the customers at the store. However, after a short while, two Meowstic approached him, holding hands and looking quite excited.

Yuga paused his work and with a smiling face, asked them, "Have you encountered something good? You seem so happy."

The two Meowstic danced and gesticulated, explaining their purpose. It turned out that the ancient microorganisms which was under research of the Malamar, had finally been successfully cloned.

Yuga's eyes brightened at this news. "Is what you're saying true?"

The Meowstic nodded vigorously. They had been working on this experiment for a while, pushing aside other tasks. Today, they finally achieved success, and they credited it to the fossil resurrection device sent by Devon Corporation, which had been a significant source of inspiration.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go see it!" Yuga exclaimed and took large strides toward the direction of the Ecopark.

When Yuga reached the laboratory in the Haunted Mansion Sub-Ecopark, three Malamars were gathered together, engrossed in some discussion. They didn't even notice Yuga's entrance.

*Cough, cough, cough!*

Seeing the three Malamars engrossed in their discussion, Yuga couldn't help but cough twice. The three Malamars were startled and hastily moved to the side.

As they made way for Yuga, he noticed the transparent fish tank in the middle, filled with tiny blue star-like specks constantly flickering. These shimmering blue lights were the cloned ancient microorganisms, and the liquid in the fish tank wasn't real water but Ghost Sea's seawater.

After explanations from the Malamars, Yuga learned that these ancient microorganisms were originally terrestrial creatures.

However, the current environment was vastly different from ancient times. They could only live in Ghost Sea's seawater. If they left the Ghost Sea's seawater, they would quickly weaken and perish.

Yuga curiously examined the fluorescent organisms in the tank. They were incredibly tiny, and their true forms were impossible to discern with the naked eye.

He dropped a Fire Stone, handed to him by the Meowstic, into the tank. In no time, the entire Fire Stone was enveloped by the blue fluorescence and rapidly shrank.

These starlight organisms fed on Evolution Stones, and when they saw food, they naturally gathered around it.

After observing for a couple of hours, Yuga noticed a thin layer of white crystalline dust accumulating on the bottom of the fish tank.

This white dust was the secretion produced by the microorganisms after consuming Evolution Stones, and it was a crucial component for creating Supreme-grade Evolution Stones.

Originally, this secretion would solidify as a protective shell on the microorganisms' bodies. However, due to the properties of Ghost Sea's seawater, it remained loose and scattered at the bottom of the tank.

Now that Yuga had access to this white crystal, he could continuously produce potions that can enhanced a Pokémon's potential.

Realizing this, Yuga couldn't contain his excitement. "Quick, let's create some potions to test their effects!"

The Malamars readily obeyed Yuga's orders. They had experience in making these potions, so the materials and equipment were readily available.

Three hours later, they had produced four potions.

Next, Yuga brought two Vivillon and two Beautifly to test the potions' effects. These were the most abundant Pokémon in the Ecopark and had the highest number of low potential in the Ecopark.

The potions had been proven safe in previous experiments, so he felt comfortable letting the Vivillon and Beautifly use them.

To better understand the effects of the potions, Yuga chose four Pokémon with different potential levels: one red, one orange, one yellow, and one green.

After taking the potions, Yuga carefully observed the Vivillon and Beautifly. The orange potential Vivillon and the yellow potential Beautifly quickly showed changes, turning into yellow potential Vivillon and green potential Beautifly.

The other two, the green potential Vivillon and the red potential Beautifly, showed no changes.

Looking at the four Pokémon with varying results, Yuga contemplated, "It seems like we need more experimental data."

"Continue producing the potions, and I want to know the precise effects of this potion," Yuga instructed the three Malamars, who all nodded in agreement.

The following day, Yuga received another call from Steven. He informed Yuga that the meeting with Gillruta was scheduled for five days later in Rustboro City, adjacent to Verdanturf Town.

Since Gillruta wasn't from Hoenn region, and considering his busy schedule, meeting in the bustling Rustboro City was more suitable and time-efficient for both parties.

Three days later, the Malamars' experiments yielded the results Yuga desired.

The effects of this potion were significantly weaker than those of the Supreme-grade Evolution Stones. It could only elevate potential by one level for Pokémon with potentials up to the green level and had a considerable failure rate.

After the Malamars' research, the probability of increasing red potential was at 80%, orange potential at 60%, and yellow potential remained around 40%.

Furthermore, if a Pokémon used a potion and it failed to enhance their potential, using a second one wouldn't be effective. On the other hand, if a Pokémon successfully improved its potential with the potion, using a second one would also have no effect.

For example, if a Pokémon's potential didn't increase after using the potion, using a second one would yield no results. Similarly, if a red potential Pokémon used a potion to elevate its potential to orange, using more potions would not further raise it to yellow.

Compared to Supreme-grade Evolution Stones, the potion's effects were indeed considerably weaker. Nevertheless, this world had a shortage of Pokémon with potentials above the green level but an abundance of those with potentials below green. Having this potion meant a steady supply of green potential Pokémon.

Even though the success rate for elevating yellow potential to green was only 40%, it was still astounding. Quantity could compensate for the lower odds.

In comparison, raising the potential of Pokémon with red or orange potential had relatively poor cost-effectiveness. Continuously enhancing their potentials wouldn't transform them into high potential Pokémon, and selling ten of them wouldn't be as profitable as selling one green potential Pokémon.

To test the potion's effects, the Malamars cloned numerous ancient microorganisms once again. Yuga had specially prepared a room in the Haunted Mansion Sub-Ecopark to house them, keeping all of them in fish tanks filled with Ghost Sea's seawater."

These microorganisms themselves had a relatively fast rate of reproduction, so even without cloning, their population would continue to increase.

However, like most microorganisms, their lifespans were extremely short, and they bred abundantly and died quickly, so there was no concern about overpopulation.

During these past few days, all the white crystals secreted by these ancient organisms had been used up, so they would have to wait for a few more days to produce the potion again.

"White crystals" was the name Yuga gave to the secretions of these ancient microorganisms, a name that was straightforward but practical.

With the successful development of the new potential-enhancing potion, Yuga had been in high spirits for two days straight.

He decided that it was time to publicize the news about this new potion. This way, he could potentially establish a monopoly similar to the Joy family's business in the future.

While this new type of potential-enhancing potion might not be as effective as Supreme-grade Evolution Stones or system-generated potential-enhancing potions, But it was still a groundbreaking discovery for the Pokémon world.

Additionally, there was no other person who could develop it besides Yuga because the key component was the Ghost Sea's seawater from the Haunted Mansion Sub-Ecopark, which would be nearly impossible to replicate unless someone could find an alternative.

Thankfully, Yuga was Mr. Kuni'o diciple. Without him as a backer, a Pokémon Day Care owner and Gym Leader like him, even with his current strength, would never have dared to enter this business – it was just too conspicuous.

With this business, he no longer needed to worry about having sufficient resources to raise Cosmoem. Nurturing Cosmoem was incredibly expensive, and if it weren't for Cosmoem's birth, Yuga might still be hesitant about whether or not to pursue this venture.

It was foreseeable that after the news about the new potential-enhancing potion spread, it would bring him a lot of trouble from various forces.

Of course, there would be numerous benefits as well. Without a doubt, the reputation of YoYo Day Care would reverberate across various regions.

However, Yuga was determined to control the quantity of potential-enhancing potions sold within a reasonable range. Excessive sales could disrupt the market and lead to shifts in power dynamics.

Time quickly brought Yuga to the day of his meeting with Gillruta, and he had arrived in Rustboro City ahead of time, his treasures also has been stowed aboard his Ghost Ship.

The approximate value of these treasures had already been assessed by Steven, so Yuga had a reasonable expectation of what Gillruta should offer.

Several chests of gems that were originally part of these treasures had been bought by Steven himself. What remained was primarily gold, silver, and antiques.

The meeting point for Yuga and Gillruta was on the outskirts of Rustboro City because Gillruta had arrived using her personal aircraft, which couldn't enter the city's urban area.

Yuga's Ghost Ship was in the same situation.

Gillruta's private aircraft was massive and had an unusual design, resembling a colossal fortress. The aircraft Yuga had seen from Aroma Day Care and the Joy family couldn't compare to this one.

It's not that these two families were less wealthy; they just didn't display their wealth as ostentatiously as Gillruta.

Gillruta's aircraft was a clear example of "money can buy anything."

Yuga's Ghost Ship was quite large, and it had an imposing presence with its eerie aura, which could be intimidating in its own right. But when compared to Gillruta's aircraft, it suddenly appeared somewhat modest.

From a distance, Yuga spotted two Pokémon standing at the entrance of the gigantic fortress. One was a man, and the other was a woman. The man in the forefront was Yuga's trading partner for this deal, Gillruta.

As the fortress and the Ghost Ship drew near, two steel staircases extended from the fortress to the ship. Yuga ascended one of the staircases and approached Gillruta.

"I've heard so much about you, Gym Leader Shimizu! It's a true honor to meet you," Gillruta greeted Yuga in a friendly manner. However, his stoic expression greatly diminished the warmth of his words.

"Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Gillruta," Yuga responded with a smile.

"Let's head inside. It's not convenient to talk out here," Gillruta stepped aside to invite Yuga into his fortress-like aircraft.

Yuga nodded and followed Gillruta into the interior of the fortress. Gillruta's female assistant silently followed behind them.

Yuga couldn't help but glance at the attractive assistant. She was undoubtedly beautiful, and the word "alluring" could be used to describe her. However, her quiet presence behind the two men made her almost unnoticeable.

Yuga couldn't help but find it strange and wondered: Is having this special skill is a requirement for being an assistants nowadays?

Gillruta noticed Yuga's subtle glances towards his female assistant, and Yuga hadn't made an effort to hide his actions. This observation led to a sly, intriguing smile from Gillruta.

"Before we get down to business, would the Gym Leader Shimizu like to tour my aircraft?" Gillruta turned with self-satisfaction and asked Yuga.

Yuga replied with a warm smile, "Of course, I'd be honored."

Gillruta's aircraft was massive, and Yuga couldn't possibly tour every area. So, Gillruta proposed showing Yuga his collection first.

For someone as renowned as Gillruta in the world of collectors, Yuga was naturally very interested. Led by Gillruta, the three of them arrived at the lower level of the aircraft, which was the core area of the entire fortress.

"Phineas, open the door to the collection room."

In front of a large door, Gillruta looked up at a red "eye" on it and instructed.

"Of course, Master," a mechanical female voice echoed from the red "eye."
