504 Facing It Head-On

The strength of the Foongus and Amoonguss surrounding Yuga and the others was rather weak. Yuga took this opportunity to return Absol and release his Charmeleon, allowing it to get some good training. Yuga's Charmeleon had already reached the level required for evolution, but to reach its final form, it needed more rigorous training.

Yuga's switch of Pokémon seemed to signal an attack from the Foongus and Amoonguss. They unleashed Poison Powder, sending waves of toxic spores toward Yuga and his group.

Yuga's Charmeleon and Brawly's Rapidash immediately countered with Flamethrower, engulfing the Foongus and Amoonguss in front of them in fire.

On the other side, Marlon's Samurott opened its mouth and unleashed an Ice-type advanced move, Blizzard. The pale snowstorm swept through most of the Foongus and Amoonguss. Roxie and Sora didn't even need to get involved; all the Foongus and Amoonguss were quickly dealt with.

Before leaving, Yuga made sure Charmeleon and Rapidash thawed the frozen Foongus and Amoonguss. They weren't seriously injured and just needed some rest.

However, among this group of Foongus and Amoonguss, Yuga spotted one with green potential. He casually used a Poké Ball to capture it.

None of the others, except for Marlon and Roxie, who were locals, showed interest in the Foongus and Amoonguss. When they saw Yuga capture one, they didn't object.

This was the first high-potential Pokémon Yuga had seen since entering the Pinwheel Forest after observing for a while.

After walking for a while, Marlon suddenly said to Yuga and the others, "There's a Moss Rock nearby that can induce Eevee to evolve into Leafeon. Would you like to take a look on the way?"

Special environments like this, which could trigger Eevee's evolution into Leafeon, were exceedingly rare. The conditions for their formation were also very stringent. Currently, the most famous locations for Moss Rocks were the Pinwheel Forest in the Unova Region and the Eterna Forest in the Sinnoh Region.

Yuga and the others were quite interested in the Moss Rock. Except for Marlon and Roxie, the three of them had never seen such a Moss Rock before. Moreover, the location of the Moss Rock was on the way to the ruins, so they unanimously agreed to visit the rarely-seen Moss Rock first.

Under the guidance of Marlon and Roxie, Yuga and the others headed towards the Moss Rock.

The Moss Rock in the Pinwheel Forest was quite famous, so it couldn't be considered a hidden location. The paths along the way had already been cleared by those who had visited the place before.

The area around the Moss Rock was unique due to the dense concentration of Grass-type energy. As they got closer, Yuga and his group encountered more Grass-type Pokémon along the way.

The most common Grass-type Pokémon they saw on their journey were the Burmy line, the Deerling line, and the Foongus line. Occasionally, they spotted some rarer Pokémon like Cottonee, Petilil, and Ferroseed.

However, the potentials of these Pokémon were all below green, and there were even few yellow-potential Pokémon, so Yuga didn't bother trying to capture them.

Before long, they reached the Moss Rock.

The area around the Moss Rock was different from the rest of the forest. It was a sparse, grassy area with thick, lush grass covering the ground. The Moss Rock itself lay there quietly, radiating vitality under the sunlight.

The Moss Rock wasn't particularly large or small, covered in vibrant green moss with a few pink flowers blooming on top. Occasionally, a gentle breeze would sway the flowers, giving the Moss Rock a lively charm.

When Yuga and the others arrived, they saw an elegant Sawsbuck standing on the Moss Rock.

The Sawsbuck had its eyes closed and its neck arched high. The lush leaves on its head were emitting a bright light, indicating that it was in the process of photosynthesis.

Deerling and its evolutions, Sawsbuck, changed their forms with the seasons. The Sawsbuck before them was in its summer form, distinguished by the lush green leaves on its head.

Their arrival seemed to startle the Sawsbuck, which abruptly opened its eyes, causing the photosynthesis process on its head to cease.

As this Sawsbuck opened its eyes, Yuga and his companions immediately felt a palpable pressure. Although it cast them a mere glance, and its gaze wasn't hostile, they could tell that this Sawsbuck was anything but ordinary.

...

<<Sawsbuck>>

Yuga understood the source of the pressure he had felt only after using his Insight ability. This was a Elite level Pokémon, and it had blue potential. None of them, individually or combined, would stand a chance against this Sawsbuck.

Even Yuga's Elite level Noctowl in his Ecopark might not be a match for this Sawsbuck, especially considering the type advantage it had.

Upon spotting Yuga and his group, the Sawsbuck simply let out a call and, soon after, several Sawsbuck started appearing from the surrounding forest.

After the Sawsbuck arrived, the Sawsbuck gracefully hopped down from the Moss Rock. With the Sawsbuck in tow, it leisurely strolled into the woods without paying any attention to Marlon's group.

However, as it departed, it cast a slight glance towards Yuga, and from its gaze, Yuga could tell that it had sensed his unique abilities.

Once the Sawsbuck had left, Marlon and the others breathed a collective sigh of relief. The presence of the Sawsbuck had startled them considerably.

Yuga, accustomed to interacting with Elite level Pokémon like his Noctowl, took it rather well, but Marlon's group lacked such experience, making the close encounter with a Elite level Pokémon quite intimidating.

"That was really frightening just now. Fortunately, Sawsbuck has a very gentle temperament. If we had encountered something like a Scolipede, it might not have been so easy to escape," Marlon said, with a look of relief on his face.

The others nodded in agreement.

Brawly: "Indeed, I never expected that we would encounter such a powerful Pokémon just by coming to see the Moss Rock. It's quite unnerving."

In this area near the Moss Rock, there were frequent visitors, and Grass-type Pokémon living here weren't unusual. However, encountering such a powerful Pokémon was indeed a rare occurrence.
