Dragonair, the Weather Dragon

Initially, Yuga had hoped that there would be challengers at the Petalburg Gym, giving him the opportunity to experience Gym Battles. However, Mr. Norman informed him that there were very few challengers so soon after the League Challenge had concluded, so Yuga didn't get the chance to battle any.

Yuga didn't linger in Petalburg City for long. In the afternoon, he bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Norman and boarded a flight back to Verdnaturf Town.

Upon his return to Verdnaturf Town, Yuga first inspected both the new and old stores. Seeing that everything was running smoothly, he headed to the Ecopark.

Yuga's first order of business at the park was to check on the status of the Gliscor Leader and the three female Gligar. While he was away, they had been cared for by the Miltanks.

Fortunately, the Miltanks had taken excellent care of them. The Gliscor Leader and the female Gligar were in excellent condition, and they were ready for the next phase of the breeding program once the female Gligar evolved successfully.

However, what surprised Yuga was that among the five Gligar that received the Razor Fang, the two male Gligar evolved into Gliscor successfully, while the three female Gligar showed no signs of evolution.

It seems like they didn't get enough training, Yuga thought.

Yuga continued to tour the Ecopark and noticed that everything was running smoothly. He credited this to the diligent work of the Miltanks. This led him to contemplate whether he should find suitable mates for them.

Whether it was Tauros or Bouffalant, both were excellent candidates for the Miltanks, and neither were rare Pokémon, making them relatively easy to acquire.

Next, Yuga visited the Heart Island Lake.

Standing by the edge of the Heart Island Lake, he released Dratini from its Poké Ball and retrieved the remaining three Gems.

Just as Yuga had suspected, the yellow Gem immediately reacted strongly when it appeared, sensing the presence of Dratini. It swiftly flew to Dratini's head, emitting a dazzling golden light, in stark contrast to the gentle response it had shown with the green Gem.

Simultaneously, the golden, electrically charged orb within Dratini's body burst out and transformed into a strong electrical current, before being absorbed by the yellow Gem.

After absorbing all the electrical energy, the glow on the yellow Gem faded, and it settled on Dratini's forehead.

"Dratini!"

Dratini seemed startled by the yellow Gem, letting out an alarmed cry.

Just as Dratini called out, its body began to emit a white light. Within the white light, Dratini's body elongated, growing larger with each passing moment.

"Evolution?" Yuga was taken aback.

Considering Dratini's level, it should have been able to evolve a long time ago. However, Yuga hadn't expected this particular moment to be the trigger for its evolution.

As the white light dissipated, an elegant Dragonair, floated silently in mid-air, looking at Yuga.

This Dragonair is quite large! That was Yuga's first reaction.

Typically, Dragonair has a length of around 4 to 5 meters. However, the one before Yuga appeared to be over 7 meters, even longer than the average Gyarados.

Moreover, unlike regular Dragonair, its neck ornament, which was originally deep blue, had turned golden. This gave it an unusual appearance with its otherwise entirely blue skin.

"Dragonair..."

Dragonair tilted its head towards the sky and let out a gentle cry. In an instant, the sky above became shrouded in dark clouds, accompanied by countless lightning flashes.

What's this? Rain dance? Or something similar to the abilities of Zapdos? Yuga wondered.

Following a loud thunderclap, the entire Heart Island began experiencing a heavy downpour, with rain pouring down in torrents. Yuga's clothes were quickly drenched, and he couldn't help but shiver.

It's indeed the Rain Dance ability, but this rain is pouring down awfully fast, isn't it? And the range is too wide, and the volume of rainfall is excessive. Even though Dragonair is known for its ability to control the weather, this effect seemed exaggerated. Moreover, does the Rain Dance ability usually involve thunder and lightning like this?

At this moment, the Milotic and Feebas in the lake sensed the commotion outside and timidly peeked their heads above the water's surface. However, when they saw Dragonair, they couldn't help but show signs of fear.

"Dragonair..."

Just as Yuga thought it was over, Dragonair in the midst of the downpour tilted its head toward the clouds once more. The clouds grew denser, and golden lightning bolts began to surge from the cloud mass like electric serpents.

The Milotic and Feebas in the water were frightened and quickly retreated back to the lake's bottom. Even Yuga was taken aback by this terrifying scene, fearing that a lightning bolt might accidentally strike him.

Fortunately, these electric serpents only darted around in the high sky and didn't descend. Otherwise, Yuga suspected that this orchard on the Heart Island might have been reduced to ashes.

Yuga pondered, how were these thunderstorms generated? 100,000 volts? Or thunderbolts? In any case, it was truly intimidating.

Why did this yellow Gem seem more powerful than the green Gem? Why did it create such a massive disturbance?

Unable to contain his curiosity, Yuga activated his Insight ability and examined Dragonair, which was manipulating the weather with its eyes closed.

However, the power it exhibited was entirely different from before. Just based on its strong weather manipulation abilities, it was ahead of many other Pokémon. Yuga felt that this ability was quite similar to Zapdos.

He couldn't help but wonder whether this was an inherent talent or an influence from the yellow Gem. If it was due to the Gem, then this Gem was remarkable. Yuga also couldn't help but wonder how the ancient people managed to create it.
