Chapter 2

On the eve of my 5th birthday, the worst, but also best, of things had happened to me.

...

I was going to my bed in anticipation of what will happen on my next birthday.

In school, I had surpassed the knowledge of the teacher at 4 and was told I would get a big surprise on my 5th birthday.

I kept running up and down the castle halls.

"Stop running in the halls, Max" said Ava.

She had become a good looking 19 year girl. We loved each other very much. I considered her a honorary sibling. At least she was closer to me than any of my other siblings.

"Ok, Ava" I said and turned a corner so she would not see me and kept on running.

I might be a high schooler mentally but some times it is good to act like a 5 year old. I could get away with almost any thing. Not that I tried anything that is.

I went up to my favorite place in the castle. There was a tower. At the top of this tower, there was a small room. This room had all of the books that I was too young to learn and had a window to the outside and when I opened it, well let's just say they the only thing that smelled better was the chefs cooking.

I was so excited to officially become 5 years of age. This was because I would be able to train as a knight when I turned 5.

...

I waited in my special room until dinner and when dinner came, I could smell it across the castle.

I instantly got out of my tower room and ran down to the dinning room where I was greeted my mother and father as well as Ava and, surprisingly, Keven.

"Hay Keven, what brings you back home?" I asked my older brother.

"Well I heard you were finally turning 5 this year so I came back to ask mom and dad if they would let you train under me." Keven replied.

Keven was often in his own territory. Sheer he had become 17 and he was air to the throne, my father, the king of this land, decided it would be a good idea for him to start to get the feel of ruling but in a smaller scale.

"Would you really let me!?" I asked. Keven had beaten all of the knights at the castle so I would learn a lot of sword play if he teaches me.

"I would but it is all up to Mom and Dad. Would you let Max train under me and become my squire?" Keven asked when looking at my mother and father.

"Aah. Let it by your birthday present this year, Max. I will let you train under Keven." Said my father.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dad. I will never forget this. I love you." I said.

Than my mom said, "Well don't you love me?"

"Yes, I love you both the same amount." I said with a huge grin on my face.

Than we all sat down and started to eat.

After dinner was done, I went strait to bed do it could be tomorrow.

...

In the middle of the night, I heard small squeaks on the floor but I passed it off as bugs as a rodent creeping across the floor.

I thought everything was fine until a cloth covered my mouth and nose, making me breath in a strange sent that instantly knocked me out.

After who knows how long, I woke up in what seemed to be a under ground room.

It didn't look like one of the castle rooms because I had never seen a room as ragtag as this one. There was moss and spider webs every where.

I was still looking around when I tried to get up. I was not able to so I looked at my wrists and ankles and saw cuffs on them pinning me down.

As I kept looking at the floor, I saw a what looked like liquid silver in a circle formation. There were a few of these with different symbols all around my body.

I was still drowsy so my words were a little slurred when I was speaking.

"Wha ... Where am I?" I asked into the darkness. Then 7 figures came out of the darkness that was encircling me. That all started to chant in a language I am in not familiar with.

"Если вы можете прочитать это, я поздравляю вас со знанием русского языка. Это не волшебное заклинание, мне просто нужно, чтобы оно выглядело мистическим"

These mysterious figures kept on chanting the same thing over and over again. I had no idea what they were saying. Than one of the seven came out of their circular formation and headed strait for me.

"What are you going to do!?" I asked in desperation but he never stoped chanting.

Than he pulled out a dagger. It looked all twisted and weird.

He stoped walking when he was right over me. He than took the dagger and slammed it into my heart. Than he dragged it down to lungs, than gut.

After than I could not withstand the pain anymore and passed out.

...

In the darkness, I was expecting to feel cold like I did when I died the first time. But this time it was odd. At first I felt cold than I slowly began to warm up, bit by bit.

Than I felt warm. It was like a mother's embrace. It was like the darkness was keeping me company. It felt like I belonged in the shadows, doing anything I wanted.

This warmth made me feel like I could get away with it.
