9 ~Intermission~ Gelmud

"Oh shit you've really done it now. This is why you can't afford to be lazy"

Gelmud was having a really bad day. First, Veldora's disappearance had thrown a lot of his plans off, enough for him to make a drastic move and push forward the creation of an orc disaster. Everything was going smoothly from then on. The orcs would advance with their overwhelming numbers and consume both the ogres and the lizardmen. And if that wasn't enough to create a demon lord there were plenty of goblins and monsters in the forest to feed from.

He was so confident in his plans that he had just sent the orcs on their way to the ogres and once the time came he would meet with them and enjoy the show. He wandered around the forest until he found a miserable Lizardman. And since he was having such a good day, with everything now going according to plan, he decided to give it a name.

Once he arrived near the destination of the Ogre village he had a bad feeling in his gut. Everything was silent… A bit too silent. He sped up towards the village until he found it. An abandoned village. With its buildings abandoned and without a trace of a struggle.

He quickly took out his recording orb and tried to contact the orcs he had sent towards the village. Perhaps their stupid brains got turned around and went in the wrong direction. However, He wasn't able to connect with them. And due to his directions of not activating the recording orbs unless something important was about to happen, as they required a constant supply of magicules on both ends in order to record, he was left with nothing.

Now Geldmud was really worried. Clayman was not a forgiving man and he had just made a huge mistake. Even though he had no clue what had happened after flying around the nearby vicinity of the ogre village and not finding a trace of a battle he would get the blame as this was his responsibility.

"It doesn't matter…" he said with a cold sweat on his back. "I bet they are so stupid they just ate themselves on the way here right?

At least I still have the large majority on my side. This is just a mild problem. Solving this is gonna be super easy, barely an inconvenience."

"I guess I just have to take better care of the rest of the Orcs. But wait, that doesn't explain what happened to the ogre village."

Taking out his communication orb he tried to contact the orc generals. Releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding after they had answered.

"How much time do you think you have before arriving to the lizardman territory?"

The slightly glazed eyes of the orc general gained enough clarity for a few moments to be able to answer.

"13 days left..."

"Damn it, I don't have enough time to play hide and seek with the Ogres. I guess they will have to wait until after I create the demon lord."

With that he flew off, heading towards the orcs location.
