I am Merlin?

Cecil found himself engulfed in impenetrable darkness, rendering even his own hand invisible. This darkness enveloped him with an alarming intensity, accompanied by a liberating sense of emptiness.

The pain coursing through him was so overwhelming, it robbed Cecil of any clarity of thought and made every movement impossible. Falling into a deep state of unconsciousness, he was tormented by headaches, the world around him shrouded in blurred green hues.

Even in his attempts to rise, each movement seemed thwarted by an invisible force. His gaze wandered through the green surroundings, futilely wondering why everything around him had taken on this color.

The pain was so intense that he once again lost consciousness, slipping into another darkness, and then awakening once more.

He vaguely remembered excruciating pain and a fleeting image of a graceful, four-meter-tall woman with long red hair, standing naked before him. Yet, even with this memory, he was disoriented, finding himself in a forest. Confused, he pondered whether he might have fallen asleep here due to alcohol consumption.

But the enigmatic puzzle did not end here the trees towered so gigantic that Cecil wondered if he had shrunk. His body felt unfamiliar, suffused with an energy he couldn't place.

In the impenetrable darkness of the forest, the moon was the sole source of light, casting is brightness into the eerie scene. Cecil gazed up at the radiant moon, letting ist sight momentarily plunge him into a serene state of contemplation.

Yesterday night, a red light wandered through the forest. Too frightened to investigate it source, I remained hidden. But today, I must leave this place. Surely, my parents are worried about me.

Doubts plagued me regarding whether I was still Cecil at all. I would never normally wear these clothes, and this white shirt seemed more suited for a child. My hair is usually blond and reaches my shoulders.

Isn't there a lake or something similar around here?

Hours passed as I desperately tried to find a way out, but to no avail. However, I finally discovered a lake.

A remarkable body! I could sprint for hours without feeling any signs of exhaustion. Finally, I found a lake to see my appearance.

I cautiously approached the water's edge.

It was incredible. I felt that I wasn't Cecil anymore, but some spark of hope made me think that all of this might just be an illusion.

I gazed at my reflection for a while, then decided to act. I leaned forward, reaching out my hand to touch my reflection in the water.

I look like a child. Green eyes. Blond hair. About 1.50 meters tall and on the left under my eye is a very small red dragon tattoo.

Where am I? Who am I? Does this child have a name? Is he missed?

My facial expression was marked by astonished wonder.

How is something like this possible?

„Hey, what are you doing alone in the forest?" a voice rang out.

Did he mean me? Probably.

„Can you tell me your name, boy?"

What could this child possibly be called? And why are his ears so pointed?

„Why are you alone here? It's too dangerous."

Why am I here in the forest? „I got lost," I lied.

That was always a good excuse.

„Ah, lost. Come with me."

I was taught not to go with strangers. But if I stayed alone, I'd probably die soon.

„You're lucky to be in the third zone of the forest," he said.

„Third zone?"

„Yes, there are three zones. The third zone is called the Outer Forest. There are hardly any creatures or anything else here. The second zone is full of mythical creatures and lies between the Outer Forest and the Giant Tree. I've never been in the first zone. Everything I tell you is just legend."

„Why are they just legends?"

„It's said that once you're in the first zone, you never get out. There are spirits that affect your mind. It's all at the Giant Tree."

As we continued, the huge tree came into view.

„What's your name anyway?"

„Oh, sorry for not introducing myself. I'm Ginger."

I couldn't see his appearance clearly because he was wearing a helmet. Only his pointed ears were visible.

„Where are we going, Ginger?"

„We're going to the second zone."

„Why?"

„We're hunting a few animals. I hope you can use Mana."

Mana? Is this a world full of magic? Should I tell him I can't use Mana?

„Okay, boy, we're here."

A few minutes passed, and they came across an animal.

Oh, that's not a normal animal. It has the body of a gorilla and the head of a butterfly.

Ginger immediately attacked it. He was lightning fast.

„Why didn't you tell me earlier?" he asked seriously, but then Ginger laughed.

He climbed onto the back of the animal, drew a small knife, and split ist head in two.

I was simultaneously impressed and disgusted. The ground was covered in blood.

„Hey, boy, have you never used Mana?" Ginger asked.

„Do I even have Mana?"

„We're returning to my village. From there, they can evacuate you outside."

„Thank you."

„When we get to the village, we'll see."

„Really? How?"

„We have many magicians in the village who have a magical ball and can see it. I myself have little knowledge about it."

It got dark, and Ginger went to sleep.
