2 CYOA

Hearing me scream, "I don't want to be a Girl!" must mean something different in ROB language, because the dastardly being laughed at me, despite my sheer rage.

"Hahahahahahahahaahah"

I stamped my feet, "Stop Laughing!"

At his ceaseless laugh, I may have pouted.

"Stop pouting. You are not cute."

"Waaah. Don't you dare say that. I am plenty cute."

"Alright. We've fooled around long enough. Tell me, what do you want to choose?"

I think about it for a minute.

"Hmm. How about a system like the cultivation novel?"

The being rejects immediately.

"Nope. They are OP sentient beings stuffed into systems interface. I cannot give you any of that."

I churn that answer for a while, in my mind.

"Okay, then how about a Gamer system? While..."

Before I could continue, the being crossed a distance of a few metres, not even within a blink of an eye. You wanna know, how I know? I WASN'T EVEN BLINKING!!!!

"WAAAHH"

I may have screamed at his sudden appearance, but my words stuck in my throat at the literal twinkling stars in his eyes.

"You want a Gamer system?"

I wasn't sure what triggered his sudden change, so I replied non-chalantly, "Sure. If you can give me that, then it will be cool."

He nods excessively, "Yes, yes. It will be very cool. Very cool indeed. Say, boy. Do you want me to be GM?"

WHAAAAATT?

"Uhm sure. But aren't you busy or something?"

He waves his hand dismissively.

"No worries. If there is something I have in plenty, besides power, it is time. Well also space and other concepts of reality, including reality. Yes. but, I want to see a system user traverse the worlds."

The gleam and twinkle in his eyes returned with twice the vigour.

"Uhm sure. Then I am grateful for your patronage. Please take care of me."

The Being burst into laughter. "Hahahah what a Otaku and Japanophile thing to say. But I can't deny it fits here very well."

Seeing my bow, he asked me professionally after a slight cough to demand my attention.

"So do you want a default Gamer system or something more personalised?"

I don't think I have a problem with the classic gamer systems, not from the fanfics where the system is a troll and sadistic bitch, but the normal version I had grown tp enjoy reading.

But before I replied, he interjected, "Of course! We need a Customised system."

Oyy! It was supposed to be my choice, but I am silent for now, waiting for him to continue. No use angering an apparently closet Otaku from fulfilling his fantasy!

.

But I am seemingly ignored in his plans, as he talks to himself murmuring something like cross-switch and dampened rate of levelling.

"May I please be a part of the design of the system? It's better to take customer feedback and marketing surveys into consideration during design and planning phase right?"

My words seem to have been the trigger to draw him back to reality.

"Oh of course. User satisfaction is very important to us."

Saying that he handed me a literal survey in hand.

There were questions like 'Would you like a clock widget in your User Interface?"

And the multiple choice was from, 'I'd like that very much!' all the way to 'Meh! Not interested.'

It even asked me if my clock should be analog or digital with local GPS and weather conditions.

From that point on, I answered ridiculous and leading questions, to important building blocks type questions.

It was fun to respond and made me happy to choose my system.

I wanted to try something fun, so when I saw the question, 'Do you want to control all your stat points or the usual S.P.E.C.I.A.L type stats which affect your combat and Random Encounter situations?"

I answered to make all my stats hidden.

That answer led to more questions, and for once, my GM sat next to me interested to hear me out.

"So you want all your stats hidden? It would make your system clutter-free and easy to manage and maintain, but there is no user advantage over regular system. In fact, it could even be to your detriment if you cannot control your own stat distribution."

I chuckled at that.

"At first glance, it would seem like I took the fun out of the gamer system, and actually chose to nerf myself. But think about it. How detrimental it would be if I made a Warrior build for a Mage-type job?"

Seeing him still listening to me in attention, I continued, "I want to make the job I choose to determine my stat distribution. After levelling up and changing my job, say from Mage to Rogue and then to a Warrior, I want the stat distribution system to calculate using a compounding method, or a cascading daisy-chain method, where my previous job and the current job decide how my stats look."

After seeing the realization dawn on him, I added, "And I never said I don't want stats. Hell, I want to increase my stats by doing stat related quests or exercises, like lifting weights for strength, gaining poison resistance for constitution, reading books for intelligence, running and acrobats for dexterity and agility, and even gambling for luck."

Seeing my grin, the Otaku GM had a face-splitting grin like my own.

"I can see the advantage to that, and I used mind reading to see exactly how you want this Gamer System to perform for you. You want to merely see the Fallout style Stat Webs with each point on the polygon being your stat, and you want to let the Job decide how to compound on the algorithm. I see...Yes, that is very doable. Perhaps a multi-faceted reward system with positive incremental system looping."

Seeing me all confused and attentive, the being told me, "You have given me much to think and work upon. Needless to say, look forward to a very generous and rewarding system than what was originally planned. It wouldn't be utterly OP like giving you Rinnegan and Mystic Eyes of Death Perception as your starter pack, but it will be very generous to you."

I smiled genuinely, and thanked him for it. He waved his hands off, and began to earnestly discuss the other grittier details of the system. He told me that the quest system usually is a multi-dimensional dice rolling out rewards, so that is standard gamer stuff.

While we were talking about Gamer store, and ability to buy from the system, I asked him, "Are there other gamers out there, who have a collective guild like institution or something like Gamer's Emporium? That was a cool idea for collaboration from fellow gamers."

He shrugs. "Yeah there is. But usually first time Beta Testers like you who have a brand new system or a revised system with a different algorithm cannot access the Emporium until their Tenth World at the least."

"That's unfortunate. Fine, then can I have a regular gamer store?"

"Nope, sorry. Beta testers are not permitted System Stores period. If you willingly choose to give up your levels and your growth and take a regular system, then you can get access to the store."

.

.

.

Oh man! That sucks!

I can't catch a break with this guy.

.

.

.

"At least tell me there is a good news."

The Being gets giddy at my question.

"You can complete dungeon quests with multiple instances of the realities. Granted it will be diminished returns after, say, Level 9999, but you will gain experience points and loots from the game, not to mention the infinite inventory with stasis function."

Huh?

"But how is that any different, from the regular Gamer systems?"

The being sighs at me with dissappointment.

"What part of world do you not understand? Your dungeons are literally entire worlds, where you are going to get millions and billions of preys to kill and hunt. It's not limited like other dungeons say, a goblin dungeon where there are merely a thousand or so goblins. Here you can choose to destroy entire worlds, and because of your Auto-Loot choice, you get all your loot undamaged in your inventory."

Okay that is really nice!

"But then, I can't use the dungeon as a means to get out of sticky situations."

He shakes his head.

"Unfortunately, that was a detrimental choice of dungeons in the intial testing phase. Now we offer State of the Art dungeons, which are pieces of alternate realities or entirely different realities, like horror worlds, zombie apocalypse worlds or fantasy worlds."

Okay, TMI! But I am set then.

"And now, we need to choose the world. Naruto world for you right?"

Seeing me nod, he continued, "The place of insert and your timeline will be determined randomly. But don't worry you will be placed in a place where the fate meets favourably, so most probably one of the five major hidden villages, or at a village prominent in the storyline, like Amegakure, or the Land of Iron. And your timeline will be such, that you will definitely be at your peak by the time of Fourth Shinobi War. I hate Boruto series, so I am choosing an AU where Isshiki Otsutsuki never appeared on shinobi lands with Kaguya. So you can have a lot of fun from the background without fear of a body-stealing Chakra parasite."

I was filled with gratitude.

"I am eternally grateful for your kindness and wisdom Kami-sama. I will endeavour to entertain you to the best of my abilities."

Seeing me bow almost perpendicularly at my waist, made the Being smile wider than before, not that I could see him.

He wished me luck and flicked me back where now a black door appeared out of nowhere.

I heard his voice, "Do your best to entertain me." And all I saw was darkness!
