1 Complete the survey

Mike is a regular high school nerd who likes to play all sorts of role-playing games that involved making character sheets and rolling a dice to determine whether or not they live or die. Now Mike was a hardcore player who would scramble together money just to buy some piece of clothing or gear to use for a character that he was going to be. As a result of playing the games almost all day. Mike's parents, friends, and just people in general thought that this was a serious addiction that needed to be cured, but Mike never fell behind in his grades or in other school work so no one could ever use that as an excuse to make him quit.

Mike's favorite hobby of the game was collecting twenty-sided dice (also known as D20s) and putting them out on display in his room or using them in the games he played as they were usually the most used dice in the role-playing world. Mike would collect a lot of different types of dice. Some would be metal, some plastic, some with the numbers in various fonts, but all were in various colors. The one thing that Mike hated the most though was that the d20s cost $15-45 so he was excited when one day he found a metal d20 that was only a dollar if he could successfully complete a survey than it would be shipped free of charge with another premium die.

Clicking the link provided Mike was brought to a safe certified website that made him feel better as the deal was not a scam and was actually legit. The website asked for some personal information about Mike such as date of birth, residence, and the usual information when purchasing something online. One thing that was different was the option to take the survey which Mike accepted but a message came up.

Warning!!!

You are about to take the optional survey. You will only have one chance to complete the survey once started. If any other tab is viewed for reference you will fail. Using any other device to look up answers will result in survey failure. The room you are currently in MIKE BRIGGS is being watched for any other person giving answers to the survey taker.

Do you still wish to take the survey?

Yes/No

Mike cannot help but stop what he was doing and contemplate. Now a sane person would probably be thinking about how they are currently being watched by something somewhere somehow, but Mike could probably be classified as insane if he was given some sort of sanity test. Mile was actually thinking about what the heck he was going do with the two new dice he was going to get and was intrigued by this second dice and why it required a survey in order to get it. After a bit, Mike clicks yes and soon a survey appears on his computer.

The path before you is blocked by a slime what would you do? Answer: __________________________.

What do you view is the most important thing to you? Answer: _______________________________.

The questions were mostly hypothetical questions asking what Mike would do in certain situations and some were asking him about the history of various roleplaying games that he had played throughout his life. After 2 hours and 250 questions later Mike was finally done with the survey after he checked and rechecked his answers before finally hitting submit. Another message popped up on the screen as the survey questions were being reviewed for results.

A few minutes pass and a new message appears on the computer.

Mike who had been taking the test upstairs in his room in the middle of the night on a school night after dinner leaned back and took pride in his accomplishment. 'Ha take that every one my life choice is not useless at all' he shouts in his mind as he is glad that he accomplished something better than good grades as a junior in high school.

Not wanting to wait until morning for fear of his package being stolen in the night Mike waits patiently for exactly twenty minutes for the package to arrive. When the delivery van parks near the house and a delivery man gets off the truck with a small package and if anyone else were to be looking at this scene people would think that Mike was about to hold his newborn son for the first time. He was tearing up at the sight of the package that the delivery man barely got two steps from his truck before Mike was in front of him.

The man was well... frightened, to say the least as in his entire career no one has ever run up to him almost crying to get a package.

"Uh... Mr. Briggs, I presume?"

Not bothering to answer his question Mike just fervently shakes his head up and down as he goes to claim the package. The delivery guy does not realize that his package is gone until Mike was almost halfway across the just watered lawn.

"Hey! You have to sign for that!" he says as he goes after Mike waving a clipboard in the air. Mike turns around but he is cradling the package and stroking the top of it while saying stuff like "My precious" and "You're safe now" which freaked the guy who delivered the package even more.

Mike doesn't care about the delivery guy who was frightened stiff from what he was saying to the cardboard box and only top the clipboard and filled in the information required before placing it in the man's grasp. Mike then turned around and went back inside leaving the delivery man outside who was slowly processing everything that he witnessed. Once he realizes that he can leave he scrambles into his truck and drives off all the while thinking about if he should retire early.

Meanwhile, in Mikes's room after tracking in water all around the house from wet socks Mike was sitting on his bed just staring at the box that he had just gotten. Not caring for the fact that his socks were sopping wet or the fact that he was slightly cold from the late-night air. Mike, had only one thought 'Where did mom put the scissors?'. Mike was not that strong but he was not weak either he could be considered as the in-between of strong and weak.

However, Mike was really into unboxing stuff and making it as seamless and perfect as possible so he required scissors to do what he wanted. Like a thief in the night, Mike sneaks downstairs and rummaged around the kitchen like a silent and clean raccoon. Eventually, Mike finds his target inside the dishwasher and takes it with him back upstairs into his room.

Like a surgeon making an incision on a person, Mike cuts the tape holding the box together and preventing him from seeing the contents within. Once completed Mike opens the box only to be greeted with another box inside it. Mike does another procedure and opens the second box to reveal the first dice that he had bought. Taking it out of the box Mike takes off the plastic wrapping that covers the die and goes to his D20 shelf before placing it there with the others.

Looking at his bed Mike cannot help but look at the box on his bed in anticipation of the secret premium dice within. Mike goes over to his bed and takes a look into the box once more and sees a metal cube. Now Mike was promised a D20 not a regular D6 so he is quite upset until he realizes there are no markings on the cube making it into a die and not just a metal cube.

Curious, Mike picks up the cube and inspects it from different angles. Mike flicks the cube and finds that it is hallow so the dice should be inside. A few minutes of figuring out how to open the cube Mike is getting extremely frustrated by the cube before he losses it and yells out.

"Why won't you open I just want to get my D20!"

"Mike Briggs identified opening package" A voice comes out from the cube before a loud 'hiss' comes out and the cube opens up. Mike is slightly surprised at this but is still happy that the stupid cube finally opened up.

As the cube opens up some sort of chilly fog exits the opening as the prize that Mike's earned is finally revealed to him after so much trouble.
