Chapter 25: Gobsmaked
"Everyone, look here!" Lola suggested as people look toward a stone tablet that rose from the ground. He proceeded to make his announcement,
"Every day, the points accumulated by the teams will show up on this stone tablet! Rank can change anytime, beware!" When he was done with the announcement, the participants from each team showed up in the middle of the stage.
It was then, instead of Lola, Mato jumped back onto the stage to explain the first match of GMG rules.
"The first match is as it's followed. It's Hide and Seek (Hidden)!... The players will gain points according to their rank!... From first to last, 10,8,6,4,3,2,1,0!... Let the match begin!!!"
When Mato declared that, the participants were instantly magicked to different locations and surrounded by buildings similar to the capital city.
"The first match of the GMG is to find their fellow opponents! The players need to defeat their opponent to gain one point for each person, but if they hit the wrong target, they will lose a point... The person with the most points will be the winner while the person with the least points will not gain anything!!!!" The moment Mato finished speaking, instantly participants' clones appeared around them.
Lola informed the audiences of the name of the players."The participants this time are,
--Fairy Tail A: Fullbuster Gray!;
--Quatro Puppy, I mean Quatro Ceburus, Jägar!;
--Blue Pegasus, Tearm Eve!;
--Lamia Scale, Vastia Lyon!;
--Raven Tail, Nullpudding!;
--Fairy Tail B, Lockser Juvia!;
--Saber Tooth, Lore Rufus!;
--And lastly, Beth Vanderwood!!!" Lola completed his announcement.
In the stadium, people can see the participants from the large screens as they cheered them on.
Each individual was trying their best to locate their enemies, but there was some exception. For example, when Juvia saw a lot of Gray clones, she started hugging them one after another which caused her to go down to negative points.
Even though Beth didn't look like a fighter, she did really well fighting with her vegetables magic. But, in the end, what she could do was limited.
Similar to the original canon, Rufus cast his * Memory-Make: A Night of Falling* magic and became the winner.

From the result, it didn't look good for Fairy Tail A. Gray was really frustrated as he made his way through the passage corridor.
"It's time for the second round!!! The second round is a battle between each guild member!" Lola announced and he continued,
"First round, Saber Tooth vs. Mermaid Heel!" When the audience heard Lola's announcement, the crowd cried even louder. People were curious about how the members of the Mermaid Heel would show them. In the first event, even though Beth was strong, it wasn't enough for Mermaid Heel to qualify the first place in the elimination round.
On the seating area of Mermaid Heel, Lee volunteered to be the one going up this time.
"Are you sure?" Kagura asked. She knew he was strong, but she didn't want him to get hurt.
"Yes, I will win this!" Lee said with a serious expression on his face.
"I..I...I Sorry about the first event." Beth jumped in. She got 4th place in the first event, but she thought she could have done better.
"It's alright. You did well, for us to gain almost half of the points, we are still ahead of others!" Kagura said. The others also cheer her up.
"Yeah, I will win this one and we can get ahead of them again!... I'm going now." Lee said. As he was about to walk in he was stopped by someone.
Kagura hugged Lee in her arms and further reminded him to be careful.
When Lee stepped through the doorway, all eyes were on him as people were curious about what he would perform. After all, he had only been associated with the people of Mermaid Heel for a month, that was why not a lot of people know him.
When Wendy saw Lee walked in, she prayed for his safety as she was worried about him. She didn't know how strong Lee was, but he will be facing one of Saber Tooth's members, who are also known as the current strongest guild.
"Mikazuchi-san... " Wendy murmured to herself in a faint sound.
Sherria, on the other hand, was shouting his name really loudly as she cheered for him. She seemed more like a fangirl than a participant member. The other people looked at her weirdly when she cheered for their rival team member.
On the other side, Saber Tooth sends Nanagear Orga as their fighter. When Ogra entered the stage, he did a little dance while singing with the audience cheering him on.
"This will be an interesting match! Do any of you know anything about the fighter from Mermaid Heel? From what I could see, he looked to be around 12 or 13 years old!" Lola said as he looked at the two other guest speakers.
"I never heard of any male member part of Mermaid Heel... I'm also curious too." Yajima commented.
"That boy is Mikazuchi Kagura's little brother... His name is Mikazuchi Lee!" When people heard Jenny reveal the identity of the little boy, the stadium was uproar again.
"Wow! This is interesting!" Lola commented with his black hair on his head almost falling off.
"The last time I saw him, he was smaller. Kids sure grow up fast these days... " Jenny said with a sign.
"Indeed," Yajima agreed with her.
Back on the stage, after Orga's little singing, he shifted his attention back to Lee. But, he didn't care much about the boy in front of him.
"Boy!... You should quit while you can, or else it will be a painful experience for him..." After Orga stated that, he glanced at Lee, but Lee stared back at him with his expressionless face.
"Boy... I give you my warning again because I am a super nice guy... A shrimp-like you can't even hold one of my fingers, so quit while you can. Maybe you should drink more milk, or suck it from those big titties on your sister!" When the audience apprehended that, they were all quiet. Before, when Jenny revealed Lee's background, he also heard her.
Orga was really loud, the whole audience heard it, so was Kagura. Kagura on the seating area was about to rush in but was stopped by other members of Mermaid Heel.
"If anything happens to Lee, I will definitely make him pay!" Kagura said as she went back to her seat.
On the stage, Orga who anticipated Lee to reply to him saw that he was ignored, he got really frustrated.
"I will get you for this!" As he said that, he used his *Lightning God Slayer* Magic.
"*Black Lightning Cannon*" When Orga shouted, bolts of black and yellow lightning moved toward Lee.
Lee, who perceived that attack was coming at him, dodged to the side and waited for the next attack.
Even though Orga missed his first shot, the audience cheered for him even louder.
Orga was even more enraged when he saw his opponent didn't take him seriously especially they sent a boy who's mute.
This time, instead of sending a bolt of lightning, he rushed toward Lee himself.
But, it was a mistake on his part to lose his temper as he didn't know anything about Lee's abilities.
The moment he was within 10 meters of Lee, he felt like he lost all his strength and fell into unconsciousness. From a normal people's perspective, it was like Lee didn't move at all and the next thing people saw was Lee stood behind Orga as Orga fell to the ground.
The silence filled the whole stadium. The invincible Saber Tooth that they expected to see fell just like that?
Lola was the first one to came back to his sense and asked,
"What was going on? How did he move from his position to there? Can someone tell me how Orga fell to the ground without them fighting?" Lola questioned what the general audience was thinking.
Yajima, as a former member of the Magic Council, knew a lot more than average people., so he understood what went down. He looked toward Jenny, but Jenny also appeared to not know what was going on, so he started to explain.
"Cough*!, " Yajima coughs to get their attention.
"The moment Orga stood within 10 meters distance of the boy surrounding, he lost the momentum he had built up. After that, he was like a sitting duck ready to be slaughtered by the boy..." Yajima said.
"How is that possible?" Jenny asked. As a mage, she was a lot stronger than normal people, but she also didn't see anything just like the rest of the audience.
"The boy used *Gravity Control* magic to make his surroundings turned into a vacuum... To his opponents, they can't move in that space, while only he can move freely... The reason the boy arrived at another location without anyone noticing was due to his speed. He used gravity pressure to draw himself forward and arrived at the back of Orga instantly..." Yajima explained.
"That didn't explain how Orga was defeated," Jenny said as she was frustrated with herself not knowing what had happened.
"I am getting there... The moment the boy traveled across Orga, he hit Orga with the sheath of his sword. When Orga received the strike on the back of his head, it caused him to lose his consciousness instantly." When they heard Yajima's interpretation, everyone was gobsmacked.
While they were talking to each other, Lee already walked back to the Mermaid Heel seating area.
When the audience understood the whole situation, they cheered even louder. It was the same as Lee was already the champion of the whole Grand Magic Games.
Wendy, who witnessed his victory, stood up from her seat and cheered for Lee. When the other Fairy Tail members were looking back at her, she was so ashamed that she tried to hide her red face with her hands.
Sherria, on the other hand, planned to run toward the Mermaid Heel area to congratulate Lee but was stopped by Lyon.
When Lee made it back to the seating area, Kagura immediately held him into her arms. She was still mad at Orga even though Lee already won the match. But when she saw Lee win the match with the whole audience applauded for him, she was really proud.
After Lee, the other teams also battle against each other.
Raven Tail, Corona Flare vs. Fairy Tail A, Lucy Heatfilia - Hard battle, but Lucy won.
Fairy Tail B, Mystogan vs. Lamia Scale, Jura Neekis.
Jellal Fernandes, impersonate as Mystogan of his Edolas self to battle against Jura who was known as one of the 10 Wizard Sages. When Mystogan began losing, he decided to use his real power but was force knocked out by Ultear through Meredy *Sensory Link* Magic.
Jura won the match.
Quatro Puppy, Groh Bacchus Vs.Blue Pegasus, Akatsuki Ren.
Bacchus the drunken won easily as he was an S-ranked mage.

On the stone tablet, the ranking of the teams' changes as the point for the day added.

--Raven Tail, 3 points

What really surprised people was that Saber Tooth didn't end up in the first place, but in the same fourth place as Fairy Tail A.
Many people still believed that Saber Tooth can still make a comeback easily if the Twin Dragon of SaberTooth joins the game.
"Everyone, the first day of the Grand Magic Games came to an end. Look forward to what the participants will show us tomorrow!!!" Lola said that as he tried hard to hold on to his hair above his bald head.
Lola continued,
"Thank you for today you two," He said to the two beside him
"Glad to be here. I was able to witness something astonishing today." Yajima replied.
"Even though Blue Pegasus doesn't get first place on day one, we will make a comeback!" Jenny said as she waved her hand to say goodbye to the audience through the screen.
When the GMG first day ended, Kagura took Lee out to go eat as to celebrate his first victory against his opponent if they didn't count Millianna and Dark guilds members.
As both of them made their way toward the restaurant, four eyes were watching them from the shadow.
Note: The GMG is different from the original canon. It took forever to write the tournament arc as I have to double-check some of the names and skills.
